Can’t make a person SERIOUSLY FRUM overnight. You start off lightly and making Judaism sweet. Well that’s how havdala becomes sweet with a nice kumzitz.

When they become frum enough they will be finished with NCSY and not need to be told no guitar by havdala

    thank you Iacisrmma

now that we all know where to look it up anyone can see the halacha for themselves. i can tell you as a mashgiach myself we are all required to take this matter very serious & make sure that no fish is left on the table before any meat is served.

    meno

sam claims that it is very clear…. read his post

he seems like an expert to me in this halacha. in that case he should know right away exactly where in shulchan aruch its written so we can all look it up

    in reply to: kiruv #1177963

which kiruv Org. do you think is the most popular & has the most students? from lev’ l’achim to shuvu to Oorah etc…

different ones are for different kinds of people on different levels of where they are currently holding before starting to return to frumkeit as much as they may also be serving in different countries

in reply to: Advice on moving to the U.S #1177765

as Joseph suggests first check on google what the step by step laws are for immigration from going to the us council in canada to apply for immigration to many other steps & then sit down with your spouse & start doing research on what type of community you are interested in moving to. What is your level of frumkeit & what level do you want to live by? that would tell you which communities are fit for you & which not. if you post what type of a family you are many people here might be able to suggest a good US town to move to that fits your type

    be matzliach

    sam

can you please let me & everyone else know where we can find this in shulchan aruch or any sefer for that matter?

    Thank you appreciate it.

being in the business & learning these halachos including serious kashering Pesach hotels for many years. i was required to know it well before getting deep into this job. its a full time job not just a side job.

i.e. to add. from all the Pesach hotels dealt with do you know how many mashgichim think its a joke & i see them sitting on a chair doing nothing? of course they don’t mean to steal but to just sit & not keep your eyes open with walking around is insane. a pesach kitchen which is either a mile long or 2 large separate for meat & dairy with about 20-30 workers is impossible to see completely from sitting on a chair

Seforim and previous tzaddikim from earlier generations

in reply to: Return policy difference based on where you live. #1178052

    wisey

that is dishonest & pure stealing. when you know in advance you will be returning it right after using it. Versus a wedding gown bought & used already but returned not because not needed anymore but actually for an honest reason of problem with it

in reply to: halacha thread by Sparkly #1180491

hope you take a drink between. they say a person is supposed to always take a drink between courses even when not first fish & then meat.

in reply to: Return policy difference based on where you live. #1178049

i know of a certain large business that moved its location out to another town cause the people who lived in their original location were only coming to them mostly for their sales & hardly buying any other regular items with it thus the large company was not making too much in that location to be worth it for them.

in reply to: Return policy difference based on where you live. #1178048

perhaps too many from this list of communites were returning tons of it after trying it on & it wasnt worth the owners hassle just to try 10 in order to buy 1 or 2

in reply to: halacha thread by Sparkly #1180488

“it is a Halacha not to eat fish & meat together”

being in the catering business for many years i am fortunate to have a mashgiach working for me that takes his job very serious in which when working at Shabbos Simchas that on Friday nights the fish can stay on the table until the main course versus Shabbos day EVERY SINGLE piece of fish must be off the table before the next course of Liver-being meat-is served. even though there may be many empty seats still or people who have not arrived yet.

most people today will sadly break this halacha & you will see fish & meat together on the table. this is not a minhag but a halacha in shulchan aruch.

are you proud of the job you have & enjoy it? very important especially if your doing it for your future. when a person has a job just because he needs parnassa but is not enjoying it, he comes home daily feeling empty, depressed & unaccomplished etc…

do you spend enough time with your children EVERY DAY after arriving home? rather it means dinner, games or homework etc… its important for many reasons including a person raises his/her self-esteem when seeing their children growing up all due to their chinuch etc… for a parent to mot feel a life of emptiness its important for every parent to spend time with their children & get a feeling of accomplishment.

im ashamed to be living in such a dishonest & corrupt world where even yidden can scam their brothers of their money that they could barely make ends meet. are you not ashamed? could you imagine scamming your friend/neighbor just for an extra few dollars? sadly its become the norm & it is a majoy chillul hashem that we have sunk so low.

I’m glad I live in chutz laaretz. Being that how can a person feel the Tom tov kedusha when 6 out of 7 days a person is allowed to do melacha.

Where is the kedusha to make me feel yom tov in Eretz yisroel? By the model every day? The streets are full of activity and work with driving

in reply to: jewish holidays #1177447

thats why their not 7/8 day yomim tovim. neither does yom kippur which is a yom tov & not just a fast day

in reply to: jewish holidays #1177445

Every yom tov in the diaspora has 4 days of Chol Hamoed and the rest are days of yom tov

in reply to: jewish holidays #1177442

Hoshana rabba is not Chol Hamoed although you can do melacha and drive

in reply to: Explaining Jewish Holidays to Teachers #1176663

Passover explanation=our nation of jews were freed from slavery and were redeemed

Shavuous explanation=day we received the bible (old testament) from G-d

Succos explanation=we traveled 40 years in the desert upon leaving to freedom from Passover….. And lived in tents so we now eat in tents/Succos during these days of the year.

Good luck. You can expand the explanation a little longer

in reply to: Mashal for understanding how Teshuva works #1176318

the world would not be able to exist without This special gift called TESHUVA. it was created before the world was created because Hashem knew that if it wasn’t first created then everyone would be destined for death many times C”V for various sins

Yom kippur is not about a day of fasting & davening ITS A GIFT GIVEN BY HASHEM, A DAY SET ASIDE JUST FOR TESHUVA (sadly most of us are not on this high level & we are constantly looking at our clocks waiting for that break between musaf & mincha) if we would realize what a gift it is we would appreciate every minute of it & if we had a break in middle we would use it to say tehillim.

ELUL is not the only time for teshuva. the entire year a person should make an accounting on himself & his actions. ELUL is a time to do it even more serious & prepare to face Hashems judgement with no exceptions except to do teshuva for all sins

may we all full-heartedly do teshuva in bein adam l’makom AND bein adam l’chaveiro & may it be accepted by Hashem our loving father & king.

may we all be benched for a ksiva v’chasima tova

The Sinas chinam today in klal Yisroel is worse then it I Was in the time of the destruction of the 2nd Bais Hamikdosh destroyed because of it. So how can we expect Mashiach to come before returning to Ahavas chinam

    May it happen very soon

The problem with giving reproof today is that no one listens to you BECAUSE EVERYONE THINKS THEIR WAY OF LIFE IS THE CORRECT WAY AND THE REST OF THE WORLD IS WRONG SO DONT GIVE ME MUSSAR….

in reply to: Suggestions to Improve YWN #1225527

    YWN improvements would include

1)if they put the time & date on top of each newsletter so people reading it later can see when it was put out

2)on bottom of each newsletter, should be a shortcut to the previous & next newsletter-like on mobile read-so readers will be more happy to read news on YWN to a more relaxed & enjoyable news time.

3)all peoples comments should be posted unless filled with curses etc… so YWN can be an honest news website hosting all kinds of peoples opinions about certain news topics & for YWN gain to know how people around the world feel about the news topic written in

KEEP UP YOUR GREAT WORK YWN

parents are role models from the minute their child is born & even before-to each other-your on a 24/7 job of being watched by your children & judged assuming the way you act is the right way for them to act & follow in.
