how much of the seminary experience is better if you go to Israel versus going to Seminary in the states? sure its an experience of a lifetime spending a year in israel Seminary. but how much of a difference is it chinuch wise? & can’t my daughter take a trip to Israel when she finishes seminary in the states for much less?

most USA seminaries include a chizzuk trip to Israel or poland during the year of their Seminary

do you even know what the message of 9/11 is?

Do you know that 9/11 is our sad day for over 2000 years? ???? ???, 9 is ???? Av is 11 ???? is 12 & ???? is 1, how does that grab you? How does that shock you? what about the phone number 911? that’s also ???? ???. that’s Americas emergency number for a minimum of 50 to 100 years, why didn’t they pick 111? are you going to tell me cause a baby might press 111 by mistake? These 2 tragedies-above-were only hint’s to tisha b’av, but it wasn’t enough to bring klal yisroel to start doing teshuva. So what happened ON tisha b’av 2005, i.e. no more hints to tisha b’av? Gush Katif/the Gaza Disengagement, it was supposed to happen on tisha b’av but they waited until Motzei tisha b’av, they did not even wait till the next morning, which means it was still tisha b’av in Chutz La’aretz (diaspora). Now let me ask you something, are these 3 tragedies-relating to tisha b’av-coincidence or is it a straight message from Hashem that its time for klal yisroel to wake up & do ?????? You think about it, this is not between people, this is between each person & Hashem.

    Tzaddikim: Torah gives them Simcha

Regular people: EXTRA money and enjoyment gives them Simcha

Nevi’im: Music gives them Simcha cause they need to be in a happy mode in order to receive Prophecy from Hashem

    Have a gutten chodesh

Bnei yishmael (muslims) will be the last nation to fight klal Yisroel before Mashiach comes.

Why is there so much Moslem terrorists? There is a sentence in their bible saying “there is a rock behind you kill him” and they believe the word rock refers to a jew. Just like we have a mitzvah to destroy amalek they believe that they have a commandment to destroy jews

when someone makes something his/her top priority in life & throws Hashem away forgetting about minyan or Learning etc…. he has shown Hashem that this thing is avoda zara to him/her.

What does the word Superbowl mean to people today? not all but Thousands of yidden would not miss it for any price R”L even if it meant missing something more important as a family event. thats called avoda zara, bowing down to the superbowl like a g-d

Message from 2008 that still applies today:

Why is the economy so bad today? Why is the whole world going down? For the past thousands of years there was always Avoda zara in the world-from the molech to the baal to the asheira tree etc…-todays avoda zara is MONEY, we are a servant to money, we serve money, we bow down to money, we let money talk & rule us. Thus we leave Hashem no choice but to take it away from us Rachmana L’tzlan. But you can still save yourself from going down. if a person can use his money the right way & remember that it all comes from Hashem & it was just loaned to him (even though he worked for it), then he is the perfect person to continue holding Hashem’s money.

in reply to: The Official Purim Thread #1137516

try to be b’simcha this year on Purim-& all year round-WITHOUT getting drunk. the truth is you don’t need to get drunk in order to be b’simcha.

many other ways to live a life of happiness 24/7 include:

1)look at the positive of every situation you are going through

2)have faith & trust in Hashem in everything in Life & you will always be happy cause you will know deep inside you that theres no excuse for sadness cause bottom line in life is that everything Hashem does is for our good…

3)look at everything Hashem has given you in your life & feel grateful & appreciate it to Hashem. with true thanks from your heart to Hashem.

When this becomes a part of your life you can feel the real level of Simcha-like on Purim-everyday without any drinking

in reply to: How Do You Feel the Presence of God? #1136437

to feel this high level of closeness to Hashem it takes many years of work. to give you a few examples to help you understand:

1)Becoming a Baal Betuchen & Emuna (Faith & trust) is no simple matter. A person can’t just say, let me have faith in hashem, it is a long & Difficult journey. Becoming a person of Betuchen & Emuna in Hashem is an average of a 30 year journey minimum. (not from when your born, but from when the journey starts) Do you know what these 30 years are? Only the first 10 percent of the journey is learning every mussar sefer in the world, the other 90 percent of the journey is passing every single Nisayon (test) with Ahava (love) etc… , from accidents to robberies to deaths Chas V’Shalom etc… A true person of Faith knows the mishna in pirkei Avos that says the good & bad is all for the good every minute of the day , 24-7. Every Nisayon that a person gets from Hashem & passes, brings him closer & closer to Hashem & every test that a person experiences gets harder & harder, but a person can never ask Hashem why something bad is happening, because we all know that if a person was not able to pass a test then Hashem would never give it to him. Nothing in the world will effect a person of Bitachon, no matter what happens, cause he knows that everything Hashem does is for the good. Do you know what the reward for being a person of Faith & trust is? The reward is worth more then all the money in the world, the reward is the gift of Happiness, you get to be the happiest person in the world cause nothing in the world will effect you. Now can you tell me a better reward then that?.

2)FASTING: it takes many years to fast with truth & feeling: what’s the reason for fasting what do all fasts have in common? ????? & ?????? (mourning) look at us today we all look at our clocks 5 hours left 4 hours etc… the last 20 minutes we all stand at the clock with our cup of water . Just like it says in the beginning of ????? ????? Hashem said to him, all of your days set aside for fasting are FRAUDS i don’t want anything to do with them. Its TRUE its all FRAUD we don’t mean it or feel it when we fast. we fast because we were told to fast. Whats the use in fasting if you’re not going to feel it? 10% of the reason is because the ????? said to fast the other 90% is why they said to fast, we do the 10 % if you don’t feel it, not that its no use in fasting its already an embarrassment to the fast (itself) if you’d/we’d really want Hashem to forgive you/us for your/our sins you/we would not look at the clock on ??? ????? for that 25 minute break -between Musaf & Mincha-to come up & if you had it you would say some ????? .If you/we really felt bad for the ??? ????? you/we would not look at the clock on ???? ??? when ???? is so you/we can go back to sitting on a couch.

BOTTOM LINE: on any midah a person needs to fix. some of them take 5 years to fix & remove from a person others are much harder & can take even 30 years

I feel like the happiest person around and can’t stop thanking Hashem for every tiny thing Hashem gives me. My gratitude to Hashem is endless and unlimited.

From big amazing planes to tiny crumbs of salt/sugar each thing more amazing and fascinating then the next. Stop taking everything for granted and see the beauty of it instead. Your thanks to Hashem will be endless

in reply to: How Do You Feel the Presence of God? #1136419

    Rebyidd.

if it was revealed to us what it feels like to be in Hashems Holy shchina in Shomayim. then everyone would be begging Hashem to remove them from this physical world. THIS IS WHY IT CANNOT BE REVEALED TO ANYONE.

Only Moshe Rabbeinu-on his high level- spoke to Hashem FACE TO FACE, all other neviim spoke & saw Hashem only in a vision but not face to face. & there will never be a human person as humble & as righteous as Moshe was. as we say in Davening in Yigdal every day.Malachim (angels) are not physical humans & are 100% spiritual just waiting Humbly to serve Hashem in Heaven whatever Hashem tells them so they can see Hashem & HIS kedusha, they also do not have the gift of bechira/free-will

every person has a mission in this world, which upon completion is removed & brought to the TRUE world above. this physical world we are in now is called the olam HASHEKER-the false world- & we all know this is true & not just someone talking.

most of us here today in this temporary world are gilgulim but that is a different topic not to be discussed on this page.

in reply to: How Do You Feel the Presence of God? #1136414

    Queen

If you would remove yourself from this physical world. You would see what i am talking about and also feel the major difference between fully ruchnius or like you-and almost everyone – physical and adding some ruchnius to their lives throughout the day/year

May you one day be fortunate to reach this high level and feel the kedusha of Hashem within you. Cause you have been fortunate to remove yourself from physical pleasures and therefore ready to be on this high level

in reply to: How Do You Feel the Presence of God? #1136412

Remove yourself from this physical world and dig yourself into the spiritual world (ruchnius )

There are so many levels to feel it from Ruach Hakodesh to nevius to demons etc… open up Sefer Derech Hashem to get the full picture

Talking to Hashem in your own personal language is called “hisbodedus “

You can’t be in the world of technology and physical pleasures etc…. and at the same time be in Hashems holy Shchina (presence) once you start removing yourself from this physical world step by step you will start feeling closer to Hashem and on a much higher level

washing cherry tomatoes in the container on shabbos THE WATER-itself-IS CONSIDERED BAD while the tomatoes are good & you are separating the water by letting it through the holes

in reply to: Common Mistakes People Make- halachically #1136610

no sin in life is ever allowed to be done even if its unintentional. (if someone by going to a business meeting in a treife restaurant might by mistake eat treif C”V Then he is not allowed to go) its sad people don’t know these halachos. the container is made purposely so they can be washed out in the container thus causing you to do borrer. consult your LOR & they will tell you that a person needs to put the cherry tomatoes in a bowl of water & rinse them and then take them out of the bowl

in reply to: Common Mistakes People Make- halachically #1136606

being in the food & hashgacha business for over a decade already.

these are the 2 MOST COMMON chillul shabbos i have seen in frum heimeshe homes all around.

1)washing cherry tomatoes in their containers on shabbos (pure borer. the containers have holes in them….)

2)sweeping your house floor with a straw broom on shabbos (forbidden for same reason a person is not allowed to comb her hair on shabbos, cause you MIGHT pull out hair even though its unintentional its forbidden. a straw broom the peices come out versus the big school brooms-which they make in small too-the short strings on locked into the broom & don’t come out)

this always shocked me to see it hundreds of times in frum torah homes in frum communities. you don’t need to be an expert in hilchos shabbos or be a rabbi to know this. the first time i learnt Rabbi Ribiats hilchos shabbos sefer (over 1400 english pages-not artscrool 700 hebrew & 700 english) it only took me 2 weeks after finishing it to realize its time to learn it again. how do you expect to remember over 1400 pages?

    Flatbusher

actually lakewood has become A MORE FRUMMER TOWN in the past 30 years. over the last 3 decades & mostly the last decade of the 3, every year the modern people of the town have been leaving-either the elder were Niftar or the Modern Orthdox families children have all Married off their children & their children are not staying in Lakewood to raise a modern Family. The lakewood day school-which was co-ed & the first jewish school in Lakewood & Rabbi Aryeh Malkiel Kotler went there-shut down already about 10 years ago.

Yidden in lakewood today are 99.5% percent torah frum families, there is

maybe a drop of modern familes still living in lakewood. all the reform or conservative shuls in Lakewood have shut down or joined another shul in a different town near lakewood

BOTTOM LINE:Lakewood is more frum today then it used to be. Not vice versa. even if tons of NYers have moved to lakewood but their all frum or even Chasidish families. (soon the town might become chasidish) i remember before there were any chasidish shuls in Lakewood today there are over 30 that are chasidish of all diferent kinds.

in reply to: Avraham, are we the children that you dreamed of? #1133826

the true children of Avraham Avinu.would:

1)do anything to NEVER make a chillul Hashem at whatever price it cost, do you know what it means to Desecrate YOUR G-DS holy name?

2)have cried out long ago as a nation together doing teshuva & begging Hashem to take them back & accept their teshuva so that we should be ready for Mashiach. what are we waiting for? why have we not done teshuva so all the tzaros in klal yisroel can come to a halt & mashiach can come? EVERYONE IS LACKING IN A MAJOR PROBLEM CALLED “FACING REALITY” i.e. admitting to Hashem openly that we are in need of teshuva.

3)would have done anything to make yiddishkeit so sweet that there would not be any-reform, conservative etc….-brother jews. Yiddishkeit should be so sweet that every yid on all levels should love it. there would not be any Sinas Chinam, no crazy NK people etc…

    Thanks DY

didnt know i posted it so many times. Boruch Hashem all 3 of these patients are living much happier lives today cause they now look at everything positive no matter what the situation.

you can also & i hope you do already. one thing every yid knows-even reform-is that everything Hashem does is for the good so no one can ever ask why is Hashem doing this to me?

in reply to: The snow is beautiful #1133219

true story of a patient of mine:

topic:Depression & how to look at everything positive

I was once approached by 3 people-at 3 different occasions-with the same question, Each person asked me, how he can learn to stop taking things for granted & instead appreciate them? I then replied to each one with a different answer. The first person that approached me was in a shul, before starting Shachris. I told him, most lessons a person learns in life take weeks & months to learn but this lesson takes only one hour to learn. I then opened up a siddur to birchas Hashachar. & showed him boruch… pokeach Ivrim (blessed be Hashem for giving sight to the blind) & told him why don’t you close your eyes for one hour, just one hour & then open it up to, the world to color & beauty etc… you will not know how to thank Hashem enough. I then gave him 2 other examples. Boruch… Matir Asurim (blessed be Hashem for releasing the prisoner) & told him why don’t you lock yourself in a empty room for 1 hour?-it doesn’t need to be a prison cell it could even have a little furniture, & then come out an hour later to freedom & the world etc…. Boruch… Zokeif Kefufim (blessed be Hashem for straightening the bent) & told him why don’t you stand straight for one hour, no knuckles, elbows or knees, & then loosen yourself free. You will not know how to thank Hashem enough for giving you so much… how would a person eat & put food in his mouth without using his elbows? These are just a few examples.

upon the Third person approaching me-in the midst of a major snowstorm on a friday night-& asked me how will he ever make it home in such deep snow & darkness? I asked him if he knew what I think of when I see snow at night? He replied no, so I told him of the pesukim we say during maariv & in the morning of, Hashem takes light from darkness & dark from lightness. i.e. what else could light up the entire ground in the midst of darkness like snow? With Hashem deciding on each storm how big it will be & each snowflake if it will stick-to the ground-or become water in mid-air etc…

BOTTOM LINE: there is always a way to look at every situation in the positive way (from a big water bill in the mail to other sad situations or any other situation a person is in.)
