I strongly advise you to look for the pirkei avot book advertised here and buy a copy. You may also want to buy a copy of “Listen World Listen Jew” by Rav Meir Kahane. He also wrote a book “The Jewish Idea volume 2” Even though I moved here from America and did hte army I could not have told you wy until I read his book the jewish idea volume 2. That book gave my heart torah to understand why i acted as I di

When I served I very rarely had a minyan. Not because of your motzei sem ra against tzahal but because you were so busy worrying about your startched white shirt that you could not serve in the army that defends your religion. I strongly advise you to buy my pikei avot book advertised here and actually lear a bissel torah.
marvafanMemberThe best camp I know of is Marva. It is a 9 week program where all participents (boys and girls) get their own m16 and tours of guard duty etc.
marvafanMemberI do not know the halacha but in my personnal case anyone seeing my ad for “Pirkei Avot” or “Torah and Zionism?” on Yeshiva world news please be aware that the ad is being paid by my inheritence money. I figure that saving lives is a tzedakah and since Aliya is the only life insurance policy I am buying VERY expensive ads here
marvafanMemberLet me add a few more words.
I suggest that if you are looking for a place to live you stay away from Jerusalem and Efrat etc It will make it a lot easier for you to learn hebrew.
marvafanMemberIt may come as a shock to you but in israel we do sell pots and clothes. And as far as electronics go even if you have a world wide guarenttee i have heard that a lot of stores will say we dont care. And tvs have a different system of reception so even if you do bring over a tv it will not receive and it has nothing to do with changing the electricity. Ditto with radios.
And what is so bad about supporting the local economy? Someone has to pay the army. In regards to bringing over a second suitcase what do you want to take? Personnal documents? I sugggest that you scan them and send tehm via internet. That way you will also have a backup copy.
Something that they will not tell you you is that egged drivers get a 2 1/2% commison so make sure that your driver is a Jew before buying a multiple ticket. If you have no choice you have no choice but if you ride the bus a lot keep that in mind. You may slso want to look around the internet and buy a copy of “Torah and Zionism?” and “Listen World Listen Jew” by by Rav kahane Another book that is advertised on this website is “Pirkei Avot a zionistic version”
Again in conclusion I would not worry too much about a second suitcase for things that you can buy here however things that have sentimental value bring even 5 suitcases. Whatever you pay is a lot cheaper than buying antoher ticket.

stop thinking and start learning. a kiddush hashemis whenever the power of G-d is shown and it was for exactly that reason we have recived the third jewish commenwealth right after teh hillel hashem of ww2
marvafanMemberWhen I used to work the midnight shift I had fridays shabbot off. That means when you work midnights that you are off three days and 2 nights. As a result I would finish Thursday morning meaning Shabbot was not any trouble. What was much more troubling was Motzei Shabbot when I would have to be wide awake. Anyway you learn and you survive. It may have helped also that I was younger but in any event the body will adapt
marvafanMemberI worked for many years the midnight shift for New York transit because taking off for Shabbot was a high seniority day. As a result the union made me a deal that I could take off Shabbot and in return work midnights. Interestingly while I worked midnights I never got in trouble even when I opened the doors out of the station or would drag an occasionial passenger. Then when I had enough senority to work days and get Shabbot off I got in some trouble and was forced to retire. You can read this story in more detail in the Pirkei Avot book being advertised on this website. the story is relelvent to the mishneh Perek 3 mishneh 6

Congratulations on being able to control your emotions and do what G-d wants. For it is not the clothes and the right use of the right jargon that makes a person religious but rather her or his actions.

Please pay attention the next time you say the Shema to the second paragraph. You do not need an obscure source to know that a sinner will be vomited out. But then again it does NOT say and again I say does NOT say that a sinner cannot TEMPORARILY visit the beloved garden of G-d. And who is to say that we are righteous tsaddikkim???? Yes we wear the right clothes and use the right jargon but what are we in the eyes of G-d????
marvafanMemberWow since i explained that Marva is a military program for tourists no one has mentioned that waste of time school that trains one to think that America can replace the Jewish ethnic homeland. Both the israeli military and the so called yeshivot/bait yakov progroms teach a person how to dress and speak and act. The difference however between these two marva programs however is one teaches how to live speak and act like Avrohom and King Dovid and all the other leaders of the tanach and the other teaches how to act like a goy in the land of the goyim.
marvafanMemberHaifagirl: It is not that they want to leave. It is like Rav Kook said which I quoted above. G-d dresses himself up so to speak in a bad hairdoo and a worn out dress so that the the given individual will say yuck and vomit himself or herself out. All you can do is have pity on sucha person. Again you may find my book “Torah and Zionism interesting or you may enjoy “The Jewish Idea Volume 2” by rav Kahane. In all fairness I did not know why I moved here until I read his book and he gave my hart words
marvafanMemberThe source is the second paragraph in the shema said daily. In this prayer PLAGARIZED FROM THE TORAH, a righteous person will find economic sustenance and a wicked person will not fnd economic sustenance. Amazingly the shema does not say anything about having children or having the world say what a wonderful torah scholar you are. Rav Kook would give a parable on the beloved garden of G-d beng like a girl that was embarrassed to go out with a guy so she put on an old dress and messed up her hair so the guy wuld say that he does not think that she was suitable without realizing that it was a put on. In the same manner ANYONE that does not find ANYTHING in the beloved garden is defacto stating that G-d cannot provide him or her with whatever the given individual wants. I strongly recomend the readers to either the Jewish Idea part 2 by Rav Kahane or “Torah and Zionism?? by an anonomous writer
marvafanMemberI am afraid that there is a misconception here. Marva is a 9 week israeli boot camp experience that is simply AWSOME. Participants are Jewish and are between the ages of 18 and 29. Boys as well as girls are welcome to sign up for the most AWSOME experience you will ever receive which includes getting your own m16 and guard duty at 2 am etc. For more details go to wikipedia or the Jewish Agency.
