the cops at this point is not the right option, neither is just getting up and leaving (you can lose your kids for abandoning them)

January 8, 2012 1:03 am at 1:03 am in reply to: Very disturbing, please only kind people read. #842245maahMember1) this is the wrong forum for your question
2) speak to a rav you both trust, quickly!!!
3) if you’re at your breaking point beg him to get help, he will resist and say there is nothing wrong with him, tell him, that might be true, but it’s help or goodbye
4) as far as worrying where to go, shelter etc.. if you decide to leave and need help, i can get you a job, where you will be able to afford an apartment, food, etc… i can be contacted via the mods

maahMemberBP Totty
I meant to write it was from u.
I love when ppl debate things back and forth, while the answer, or solution, is staring them in the face.
maahMemberI would like an answer, am i the one with many screen names, talking to myself? or did you mean someone else?
maahMemberThere are people (mainly one person) here who starts an argument, and then they need “weight” and lots of comments defending their (many times insane) positions.
Are you implying that i’m the one doing that?
maahMemberhow do we know you’re not moderator 1, 2, 3, etc. and you’re using 80 different screen names???
maahMemberhow do you know for a fact?

maahMemberBusiness as usual. The only difference between that boss and the next boss is one let it slip (but both feel the same way to some extent or another).
Hatizlaini na, miyad achi, miyad Eisav (please save me from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Eisav);
Sometimes he displays the “face’ of a brother, sometimes he lets his “eisav” ooze to the surface. Either way, he’s not your pal. Just take the money and watch your back.
maahMembermod-80
excuse me you wrote “great deal”, i thought you said always
what other screen name? can’t 2 ppl share an email account?
maahMemberwhat’s MYOB?
maahMembereclipse
1) when u press send, they get it (the message, they never get IT)
2) what is the difference between question 1 and 2??
3) your computers home mailing address, u might live at 123 main st, but your computer lives at 553.454.564654.564564 and ever post comes from that address. (so do emails) (last part of question 3 NO, if you don’t know what i’m talking about your dense lol)
4) only from reading posts, if you talk girlie talk they know your gender. also see chesednames take on knowing a persons gender.
5) NO
maahMember“You can’t go to the zoo if you are pregnant because you can only look at beautiful things. “
This is a great example of why we must keep mesorah, whether it makes sense or not!!
The actual saying, minhag, whatever you want to call it is, you shouldn’t look at animals, while pregnant. many seforim bring it down.
(Bronx zoo, Bronx ppl looking at zoo while pregnant, you get the picture)
now imagine someone said you should only look at pretty things, you’ll say they’re nuts, and go to the zoo. In reality the person was correct we shouldn’t go to the zoo, but the reasoning was incorrect. lesson learnt stick to mesorah, whether you understand it or not.
maahMemberyitayningwut
something happened here, in any case i posted the info scroll up.
maahMemberTrying to be helpful
You did say please, so here goes. From daily halacha.
Hilchos Chanukah
1640. Based upon the Gemara in Sukkah (38a) and the words of Maoz Tzur “Uminosar Kankanim Na’aseh Nes” (from the leftover oil in the jugs a miracle was done) the burning of the used wicks and leftover oil on the 8th day of Chanukah is mentioned in seforim to be a segulah that a) one should not c’v be murdered, and b) to be saved from tragedy. Sefer Halichos Yosef 677:4
1641. Some have the custom to say Lamenatzeach B’niginos Mizmor Shir (Tehillim 67) at the burning of the used wicks and leftover oil. {This perek is found in many siddurim in the form of a Menorah}. Sefer Halichos Yosef 677:4

December 12, 2010 5:10 pm at 5:10 pm in reply to: Naming A Child After Someone With Weird Name #1121134maahMemberreal-brisker
You’re right and wrong.
You’re right that a person shouldn’t name a child after 2 grandfathers, as neither grandfather has his name anymore.
but the gedolim say if you’re stuck with a name like shprintsa, instead of not giving it at all, name here Bracha Shprintsa, and call her Bracha so everyone is happy.
PS same applies if grandfather was a rasha, but family expects the name, give that name but have a tzaddik in mind.

words like deeds have an after effect, choose them wisely.
don’t say Adam did this wrong, or selling Yosef was wrong, etc…
i think wiy’s point is, stop with the silly comments, like I’m domed to hell because I’m laining and saying lashon harah. that comment never did make sense.
maahMemberThere are more frum people on peoples court, than you realize.
maahMemberSacrilege
It’s not respectful, to throw something used for a mitzvah, into the garbage.
lulav, esrog, tzizis, tallis, etc..

Thanks
maahMemberfor years i poured the left over oil into a cup, with the wicks and threw it into the erev pesach fire.
this year i saw that you should burn it on the 8th day of chanuka as a shmira.
being i never pass up on a segulah, i pored the oil into a frying pan, lined all the wicks up on the side, put pan on slant, so the oil drains towards wicks, lit. to my surprise and excitement every last drop was burned, even the wicks were left to ashes.

December 10, 2010 12:34 am at 12:34 am in reply to: Shaitle Fraud Chillul Hashem Video: Sha'ar haTumah haChamishim #718036maahMemberJust saw this somewhere else, how smart and true.
To the couple.
This too shall pass!!
Ignore all the comments, better yet don’t even read them.
I for one think the judge was wrong, the cleaners admitted putting the wig in the washer, they had no business doing that.
The only thing the judge should have decided was how much to give you, and if she felt it wasn’t a $3k sheitel let her give you $500.00.
But really who cares what I or others think.
Trust me this will pass, stay strong, and most importantly you look like a nice couple, be happy you have each other!
maahMember1) Button on bottom and top to move page up and down quickly
2) Poll link, readers can place questions. People can not post comments, only yes or no, and you must have a system that people are not voting multiple times. Obviously we get to see results.
3) I see many comments deleted, and some edited. Be consistent.

Do you realize you’re debating a silly thing, who cares what happened? If I agree with you, that they were lying will it make you feel better?
If I got you to agree they weren’t, will they get their money?
Debate interesting things, things that make you go hmmmmm
maahMemberKeep the ideas coming, I’m looking for something original, or something that they think i mean it (should sound sincere) etc.
December 9, 2010 5:12 pm at 5:12 pm in reply to: Shaitle Fraud Chillul Hashem Video: Sha'ar haTumah haChamishim #718003maahMemberA good rule of thumb.
before you post anything, make believe it was YOUR brother and sister in that courtroom.
At the end of the day THEY ARE your brother and sister.
