mistykins got it right. A central location with several tracks, AKA different yeshivos, if you want, in the same building with a shared lunch room, gym, etc. This lets people share the burden of paying for maintenance and rent, or the cost of the building. A load shared is a load halved. This would also allow students to switch, if necessary, to a school or track more suited to him without having to go crazy finding out about the school or students, after all he is already there and knows them. If this can be done with classes of 15-25 it would solve almost anyone’s needs. A school psychologist would be helpful, I don’t understand why they are so frowned upon in Jewish schools.

LOTR is awesome. (pun intended) In my mind most of the classics are good reading, mainly Jules Verne, H.B. wells, and books like call of the wild, jeckel& Hyde, ect. Kids don’t get all the references in C.S Lewis’s books, I definitely didn’t. As long as the kid doesn’t get fanatical about reading, why not? BTW ask your L.O.R. who knows your situation.
I’m sorry I wasn’t clear. I meant that people should do what they want with their MM lesheim shamayim, whether it is themed, fancy, simple, or lame. I’m saying themed MM shouldn’t be a social burden, with people worrying more about what other people are doing than the mitzvah itself. What other people send shouldn’t make a difference to what I send. Kids should be shown the mitzvah is important, not what anyone else is doing.
in a perfect world banning all guns might work, but it won’t because guns can be gotten illegally. Once someone has a gun and no-one else in the area has a way to stop him\her until the cops come. 5 minutes later. By that time there are quite a few dead people. Banning guns just won’t work. Jail time if found with a gun isn’t that scary. Death by a random armed person at the crime scene would ensure a lower casualty rate, if there is one at all, because of a immediate reaction time, and is much more frightening than anything else. That wouldn’t necessarily stop the problem, but it would majorly slow it down.

I never understood the problem. If sending fancy themed Mishloach Manos makes people happy, who cares?
It doesn’t make a difference to my MM, and it shouldn’t make a difference to anyone else’s. Why do people see such a big social obligation from what some other people do? I feel people should do what they want, to a extent, and have no shame about it.I was joking, but I have to say that chessed laugh was incredible.

Yeshivos should teach nach, unfortunately it is majorly undervalued.What’s wrong with the new vilna shas? It sounds like someone just doesn’t like the word NEW.

that would only be in a massive storm. there probably is a bigger margin of error for sailing than flying, small boats can completely flip and recover perfectly fine
it is dangerous. if a boat is hit by a gig enough wave, mainly waves taller then the boat is long, the boat will flip[ and instantly lose ship to shore communications. in a storm if the waves are not so big the boat will be pushed downwards, and the deck will fill with water. it’s a problem if the scuppers are not clear

is there anyway if the wind hits a plane the wrong way the plane will flip, or be “swamped” like a wave going over the stern of a boat.

this is the answer I got when I asked my LOR about a 2 weeks sailing tripI went to a pretty yeshivish school elementary school, in 7-8th grade we had 4-5 hours of secular studies every day, and the MO school in the same area had more. when I went to yeshiva it went down to 2 hours a day then none. the more yeshivish schools definitely need more secular studies if kids can’t pass regents, if they can, the gov is getting their money’s worth.

Unless you are going downwind in a boat, the waves are very dangerous to a boat if the wave is taller than the boat is long. if a boat tries to climb a wave that is too big it will slide to the side, and go “beam-to” flip over sideways by the wave hitting it broadside, and instantly lose ship to shore communications. the only similarity I can see between planes and boats is if you are going downwind, with the storm, and you have to go faster than the waves, so you are not swamped a plane needs to go faster than the wind to keep up airspeed so it won’t stall
