“A guy with a chup is not yeshivish. He can be a good boy but if his chup is important to him there’s something missing.”
This is craziness.
Yeshivishness does not mean losing individuality.
Stop buying into it!
locaMemberHow u want ur home to look, and how u want to raise ur kids is a biggie. U need to at least agree to disagree and have someone u will both allow to step in and guide u. You need to both be very commited to working on it otherwise u r setting urself up for alot of disagreements and issues that will arise. But i believe any marriage can thrive as long as there is mutual respect and willingness to make it work.
locaMemberSwimming in an ocean.
locaMemberGoq- They might not deserve ur forgiveness but you do. Forgiving and letting go of the resentment makes YOUR life better.
WIY- U cant MAKE pain go away. It goes away with time. There are steps u can take to make it heal faster, but mainly u just have to hang in for the ride. And if u truly want to forgive, dont worry. You will eventually.
locaMemberI think the Non-Jewish music thing isn’t so complicated. When u listen to something, (If ur sensitive enough to feel it) what kind of effect does it have on you?
locaMemberYou are being VERY realistic. Yay!!
January 2, 2013 6:36 am at 6:36 am in reply to: how does Hashem want girls with good voices to use them? #917090locaMemberThere is SO much a girl can use her voice for! A beautiful voice can inspire so much deeper then with words. It can help arouse feelings in Tefilla. It can add so much beauty and pleasantness and peacefulness to a home. Children love hearing songs and singing throughout the day makes the daily grind go smoother and help them to cooperate. Singing has a calming effect on people who are nervous. Singing a song especially for a person can inspire and lift up someone where words cant. Singing can help people remember stories, and touch their heart. Family or friends sitting and singing together brings feeling of closeness. Who cares about Zmiros and the fact that it cant be used publicly or in front of men? I don’t see that as much of a limit at all! Woman have a different role. We are nurturers, teachers, and mothers and Hashem sends us gifts to use in order to better serve Him. There is SO much we can do with it, we just have to genuinely want to use it with love . And also, I don’t feel there is anything wrong with a girl feeling good about the beauty of her voice in a choir. But it is definitely very special to want to use it for higher purposes.
locaMemberTakah. Thats sucha good idea.

locaMemberLet me simplify it for you- look good. Seriously, it doesnt matter all that much what type of outfit you wear, it matters if it looks good on you. Thats all.

Peeps! She is a person. First and foremost. An act of kindness shouldnt be coming with ideas on how to “help” her. It should be to build a relationship. And out of love for her- ur family. Without Judgement! If I wasnt religious and was reading this because I was curious about the inside lives of the Yeshivish World Id be so unimpressed right now.
