Hey, LAB, that’s an interesting point. You know those guys going around saying people shouldn’t get married until they have a parnassa set, and then go quoting Rambam to support their point. Well they should on the same token be insisting no one get married until they first own a house.
live riteMemberJust because people did it or do it, doesn’t make it right or allowed. Even if they are frum they were probably ignorant that it can’t be done.
live riteMemberI doubt the ultraOrthodox divorce rate is anywhere close to 10%. Of the roughly 90 weddings I went to over the past 10 years only 3 ended in divorce.
live riteMemberAre you kidding? Among my many frum friends, most by far don’t have any divorces in their immediate family.
live riteMemberrationalfrummie, in addition to popa’s great point, where have you seen such data? In the frum veldt the couples that marry younger have a lower divorce rate than those marrying later.
live riteMemberAre you kidding? It’s much worse in the secular world.

live riteMemberI think the problem with the emails is they dont want boys and girls contacting each other and with the urls they dont want inappropriate sites posted and they cant go checking out every link.
live riteMemberIt depends on the community. By the Chasidish 21 is an older single (boy or girl). By the Litvish 25 year old boys and 23 year old girls are older singles. By Modern Orthodox 27/28 year old boys and 25/26 year old girls are older singles.
live riteMemberNechomah, a child who B”H has both parents should not be saying Kadish for anyone, even for grandparents who have no sons. Someone with two parents should not be saying Kadish Yosom.
