The Rambam “pretends” that any position of authority is the same as being a king.

A queen consort has no inherent authority.

Netanyahu speaks for more Jews than the Satmar Rebbe does.

The top Reform rabbi speaks for more Jews than Rav Shteinman.

“What should one say at a praba?” A drasha.

“Is it ok to say silly jokes?” They shouldn’t be vulgar.

“How long should you talk to each person at the kiddush?” 2 minutes and 12 seconds.

Rambam’s issur seems only to be for a woman to be the queen regnant over the Jewish nation not merely the queen consort.

    Perhaps.

Why is “perhaps” the best response you can muster to my point? There’s a great difference between queen regnant and queen consort that its silly to pretend both are the same or the same application made on one is naturally applicable to the other.

Rambam’s issur seems only to be for a woman to be the queen regnant over the Jewish nation not merely the queen consort. If so, that means Esther wasn’t even a problematic question regarding Rambam’s issur since only Achashveiros was regnant and Esther only consort.

Though it does raise the question how the Jewish nation did in fact have a queen regnant on occasion. Perhaps those instances were violations of Jewish law.

The only “people” saying they aren’t is the partisan Democrats. What the Democrats have been demanding is that the Republicans controlling Congress pass DHS funding without attaching any immigration provisions as part of the bill.

It’s all irrelevant now as the Republicans capitulated a few hours ago and passed DHS funding only bill.

Everyone marries using yichus as one of the criteria in choosing a spouse. You wouldn’t marry the son of an axe murderer, mamzer or non-Jew to take three examples.

It isn’t a broken index table but rather a newly installed algorithm developed by Google that reads everyone’s historical posts and determines which posters share the same views as another and then automatically swaps their identities.

Clearly akuperma and oomis have shared views in the same ideological spectrum.

The Senate Democrats are filibustering the Republican House passed bill to continue funding DHS because it contains a provision reversing the President’s executive actions on allowing illegal aliens to remain in the U.S. against the law.

The Fox Movietone correspondent, Hans Pebal, who actually filmed the scene listed in his report all the rabbis he filmed, based on the identification he was given at the scene from passerby’s. He lists the Chofetz Chaim by both name and title. He submitted this report to Fox headquarters in New York, together with the film a few days after the footage was taken, where it remained until both the report and film were transferred by Fox to the University of South Carolina as part of a donation of their historic newsreels. The university has cataloged together the reel together with its original report, both available in their library.

And the image in the film looks exactly like the famous photo of the CC sitting in front of his house talking to his son.

ZD or VM, whoever you may really be:

You should do a triple-bureau credit check as your identity may have been stolen. There’s been a major cyberattack, possibly initiated by Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un in the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea, and the system with all the data has been hacked and many are reporting that their social security and credit card numbers and/or their screen name has been hacked by unknown scammers. You’ll need to file a police report with your real ID indicating that you’ve been compromised and mail a certified copy of said report, along with a copy of your driver license, to YWN headquarters where a data specialist will review your claim and take appropriate action possibly up to and including issuing a new identity for yourself and providing you with 12 free months of credit monitoring and protection.

They are truly sorry for the inconvenience.

JT: Dr. Tendler is a bad source for anything regarding Rav Moshe, despite his familial status. In ’76, the NYS legislature was considering a blanket approval of brain death determinant without any other criteria. MDT falsely advised Assemblyman Miller that his shver supported that bill. Rabbi Moshe Sherer initiated a meeting with Rav Moshe on 5/25/76 with Dr. Tendler where he told Rav Moshe what his SIL was claiming and Rav Moshe was shaken. Rav Moshe immediately had the MTJ office send the Assemblyman a letter stating that the bill “as written is and always was unacceptable”. And this was all during Rav Moshe’s lifetime!

Someone who is embarrassed by “weird” Jewish laws, customs, traditions, minhagim, halachas, etc. and apologies for Jews practicing these to-a-gentiles-eyes odd practices and/or even attacks Jews who have these traditions for practicing them, especially in public. Or someone embarrassed to go outside in public fully dressed as a Jew.

Wow. It is painful to read this. Thank you for sharing. It is wonderful how it has increased your emunah.

It is worthwhile taking the opportunity to realize that just as in this scenario destructively false information was spread in accusing a husband undergoing divorce, it also happens sometimes that someone is falsely accused of abusing kids and a whole lot of people think they are helping the kids by destroying the accused.

Halacha doesn’t have a special status for adoptive parents. And the birth parents don’t lose their status as the child’s halachic parents with all the implications (i.e. kibud av v’eim, blood marriages, etc.) that means.

R’ Aaron Rakeffet is modern orthodox. All you are citing are anonymous students of his, so that must be digested with a large grain of salt. And even if you accept it with the salt, as they are students of Rabbi Rakeffet the students are modern orthodox themselves (even if they had at a previous time learnt in Ponevezh.)

So the original challenge remains unrefuted.

What do you make of our thrice daily tefilos for Hashem to wipe out the wicked?:

Let there be no hope for informers, and may all the heretics and all the wicked instantly perish; may all the enemies of Your people be speedily extirpated; and may You swiftly uproot, break, crush and subdue the reign of wickedness speedily in our days. Blessed are You L-rd, who crushes enemies and subdues the wicked.
