What do men take literally?
LightbriteParticipantNo fair I didn’t get a chance to figure it out.
That said, what are you talking about please?
Did you just toss and turn an omelette in thin air? If so, that’s talent 🙂
LightbriteParticipantSo they used their strengths for survival. Were there not unfortunately other factors such as societal pressures and demands at play here?
LightbriteParticipant“If you blend the food, you won’t have to chew it – wasn’t that the point?”
Yes except now instead of my dog eating my food, I will want to eat his!
I just need to add a little hot water to make it into pureed veggie soup. Without adding water, it’s basically Gerber’s.
Wait wait –Yes it is shehakol because the food will no longer resemble the vegetables.
LightbriteParticipantThis Wed for two weeks 🙂
How do I visit you? (Without having the entire world know and etc.)
Moderators will you please email LU my email address? I just updated it on my profile.
Yes I’m not in Lakewood. Maybe there is something that I can get in EY? I wonder if duty free sells something like a travel SIM card.
LightbriteParticipantOr “they” say that women have more binah than men. So it’s different spiritual levels but each with one’s own strength.
Both men and women have unique spiritual strengths. Both valuable and invaluable.
LightbriteParticipantIf unfortunately it does come to divorce, then there is assistance to help the family, especially the children adjust and cope.
Crown Heights info:
“If a family is going to separate why not go about it in a healthy manner at least for the kids?
Ohel offers support groups that specialize in assisting families that are trying to get through a divorce while educating them on what a healthy divorce or a bad one can do to the children.
Ohel is funding workshops and webinars in which partner children of divorce up with teenagers who have dealt with the same ordeals. Ohel regional family centers are offering these workshops and are taking place in various locations including Brooklyn, New Jersey and Long Island. Call 1-800-603-OHEL for more information.”

LightbriteParticipantDo you want warm sunny or ski chalet style?
Camping cabin woods or hotel hot showers?
LightbriteParticipantMiami
LightbriteParticipantThough isn’t this judging?
Or then again we do judge in Judaism, at least the actions. But this is judging the individual.
LightbriteParticipantCTLAWYER: Thank you!!! I am so glad that I started this thread. I prayed that it would be taken seriously.
“When baking you use eggs that are at room temperature for best results. Also when following baking recipes in the US, they are calibrated for Large size eggs, not Extra Large or Jumbo “
Genius!
LightbriteParticipantAbba_S said: “The reason for not using a blender is that the the blender may liquefy it.”
lilmod ulelamaid said: “there is still food remaining from the original food you made the bracha on (this only helps if both foods are solids or both are liquids”
‘Does making it a liquid change its bracha status to a shehakol?’
Two posters and one person IRL recommended that I purchase a blender for every day use. That does not happen on a regular basis, if ever. Maybe Hashem is telling me something.
Actually, making the veggies into a puree would prob be even better than my semi-chewed solution. The reason why I don’t do that is it creates more dishes for me. The less dishes at night the better.
Thank you
LightbriteParticipant“CR is not a scholarly journal, but a conversation between interesting people. “
WinnieThePooh: I like this. Even when we provide facts and references, posts are subjective and conversational. For the most part.
December 9, 2016 4:56 am at 4:56 am in reply to: Does your wife read YWN? (and a confession) #1198024LightbriteParticipantMy “Why be sneaky?” was unfavorable sounding. poor diction.
Can I not believe him and yet still judge him favorably?
I don’t think he’s doing it to hurt his wife intentionally. I do think that he confessed here and wanted to know if others are open about CR with their wives.
I know nice guys with secrets. It’s fact. Not judgment.
Hopefully PBA will respond to this thread.

Ahhh makes sense… sorry I didn’t know that it would be assur and subscription only. I was just lazy but thank you for the suggestion.
LightbriteParticipant10 month old thread***
Was it midrash or gemara where they said that angels send someone’s tefilla to Hashem right away if it’s in Aramaic?
LightbriteParticipant“Also they think it will help to put on their hazards. It really just draws more attention to the fact that they’re parked by a hydrant. “
Meno: It does help because hazards at least unofficially signal, “Wait I am not parked, I just had an emergency stop.”
When I drop someone off at the airport, there is no parking allowed in the Departures strip. I pull to the side, put on my hazards, and then give a hug goodbye and maybe get something out of the trunk.
The question here is are you talking about people who park, walk away from their vehicles, and leave for hours at a time. Leaving their hazards on?
Hopefully their batteries still have charge upon return.
LightbriteParticipantWhat if BK is partnering with local Gyms to get more people motivated to make New Year’s resolutions to lose weight.
They have eight days to fatten up Israelis so that they will buy annual health club memberships. BK gets a cut for every new member.
LightbriteParticipantWhat? I thought that I was supposed to do a new bracha.
For example, if I bracha on peas I still need to bracha on carrots if I eat it later.
Wait. That doesn’t work because he still eats whatever I eat first. I can sneak a little bite but then I am feeding myself first, which is against halacha. Plus it’s cruel to eat it when he wants first and I can easily feed him.
December 9, 2016 4:02 am at 4:02 am in reply to: Does your wife read YWN? (and a confession) #1198022LightbriteParticipantHe can be nice on the CR and still keep things hidden from his wife
Maybe this is a refuge where he can be happy and free and having wifey know about it would burst the CR bubble?
I don’t know. To me this thread sounded legit
LightbriteParticipantWell hopefully 10yr olds also aren’t grabbing sleeping tatti’s cc to pay for the price of coffee… if they even know how much that costs
December 9, 2016 3:55 am at 3:55 am in reply to: problems with not jewish college and this is why you should go to touro #1214975LightbriteParticipantGetting late to class because there wasn’t enough time b/w classes to Ashair Yatzar after using the restroom
Though dunno if it’s any easier at Touro and this was when I was just learning how to do it and didn’t know that you can walk and bracha at the same time

So I guess the difference is whether or not the meat is ground?
Ground = chili
Chunks of flesh = chulent
Spicy foods make me more sweaty so on Shabbos with all the layers and lack of showers, I envision a mild chilulent (hybrid)
December 9, 2016 3:30 am at 3:30 am in reply to: Does your wife read YWN? (and a confession) #1198020LightbriteParticipantPretty sure that PBA is being serious here about wifey though
LightbriteParticipantI stopped opening politics’ threads because of the bashing.
LightbriteParticipantDon’t some remarry?
LightbriteParticipant“Although in some of the cases, I think it happened to be a bad allergy that year in general. “
LU +1
True true. Good point. Some years are worse than others.
LightbriteParticipantAsk them if they’re pregnant. Only the pregnant ones will suck your blood.
Also, they sense people via their carbon dioxide emissions. Exhales and bodily odors/off-gassing, so put up fans around you to prevent them from finding you.
Besides living in terror, you can negotiate a deal so they leave you hostages alone.
I suggest offering them a helicopter, 5k, and six CR usernames.
Actually, if you get them a mini-laptop, then they’ll be too busy on CR to notice you slowly carrying the thing outside.
Or… invite a lizard or frog to spend Shabbos with you. You won’t even have to cook anything special. They’ll devour your hostage takers.
LightbriteParticipantYou get allergies in Israel?
LightbriteParticipantYou can maybe Google best areas to live in the US for allergy sufferers
LightbriteParticipantYes. I don’t get seasonal allergies anymore. I grew up in the mid-east and dealt with miserable annual stuff.
I wish I could tell you privately because here I would be publicizing too much.
It def exists.
LightbriteParticipantIf it’s specially made for Shabbat then it needs another name
December 8, 2016 1:55 pm at 1:55 pm in reply to: You know you spend too much time in the CR when #1197324LightbriteParticipantYou check CR before brushing your teeth
You get antsy motzei Shabbat
You are proud of yourself when you don’t post for a day (it’s been so long since that’s happened)
You try to come up with either an exit strategy or current compromise (How do people spend so many years posting? Do you intentionally make this part of your life? Is being in the CR a disclosure in shudduchim?)
LightbriteParticipant2yr old thread
Or you can move to another climate/state/country/planet where you won’t be exposed to the seasonal allergy triggers. You can leave your lawn as is.
LightbriteParticipantLU: Okay sorry I def totally misunderstood you.
Thanks for the clarity 🙂
LightbriteParticipantOh thank you LF. That’s a new dialect to me.
I shall Giggle it indeed 🙂
Well yes I am aware of non-female posts. The politics threads don’t interest me. So yea… this one is all fancy and new

Is wifey still in the dark? Why be sneaky?
December 8, 2016 6:07 am at 6:07 am in reply to: Who was the worst President of your lifetime? #1197254LightbriteParticipantDo people put II or Jr. on their driver’s licenses?
LightbriteParticipantIs it possible for you to cut and paste it here please?
LightbriteParticipantiacisrmma: I know. So making it more chili like sounds appetizing.
Do they at least make spicy chulent?
LightbriteParticipantLU: Are you saying that every single Jewish man should not be working and that every single Jewish man should be learning, if he wants to keep on the derech and away from sakanah?
I don’t get it. If all men are studying then who supports them? Every single Jewish woman would be responsible for working to support the entire family. Every single mother and wife. No exceptions?
December 8, 2016 5:38 am at 5:38 am in reply to: Dating with a divorced guy – when should I ask about his divorce? #1197070LightbriteParticipant“True. I suppose it’s good I’m getting practice in the CR at disagreeing with people. “
LU: +1
…and omgosh I feel the same way
LightbriteParticipant“cake is about enjoyment, not fairness.”
blubluh: I enjoy not eating cake more than eating it. When I don’t it I feel like I triumphed another day.
LightbriteParticipantMaybe it’s all the Yiddish. I need a translator for half of it.
Meanwhile, I never knew that hats can crease. I just figured they were sturdy enough to take a fall. If anything, they could pop back out.
It’s interesting to hear about guy problems. I’ve read threads about sheitel issues. Maybe some guys have kippah issues. Now I know that there are hat dilemmas too.
LightbriteParticipant“how do the wipes know when it’s Shabbos? “
huju: They’re powered by emuna
LightbriteParticipantIt’s filled with ketchup instead of jam or jelly.
The whole ketchup on the donut is the most disturbing imho.
Some people eat ketchup with anything, including ice cream. So that may work for them.
Honestly the whole Nutella burger sounds good.
If they make a pareve hazelnut chocolate spread on a donut with a meat patty inside, and it’s kosher, I would try it. Esp if I was eating it in my dreams (sometimes I dream that I am eating).
