I am not Joseph. After learning that DY is Joseph, I don’t know for sure who is not Joseph.

I don’t like doubting people in the DR.

Are any Mods Joseph? I feel like I am looking into the mirrors of a fun gun house, reflections are everywhere. Am I all alone?

    Thank you

Why contact YWN if one has been a victim in a similar procedure/circumstance? Why not suggest contacting the police? Or is YWN assuming that the individual already took that step? Maybe they have a YWN rav to help?

If it brings you and/or your child peace of mind, then it’s quite valuable.

Children are now afraid to wear light-up sneakers to school!

I would want a backpack, just in case. You never know… (unfortunately and G-d forbid).

    This is real trauma.

School shootings are a real threat.

Is it normal for the raw London broil cut to have brown spots on the surface?

    The sell-by date is February 12, 2018.

I just put it in the marinade to soak in a ziploc bag, and am not sure whether the meat is spoiled or not (based on the color).

Maybe this is just how kosher steaks look? It’s my first time buying a steak since I started eating meat again. I bought a brisket before, which was red, and also ground beef, also red.

Though, I know that butchers often add coloring or some sort of gas to the meat to give it an artificially red look. Thus, maybe these brown spots are normal?

The meat did not smell spoiled.

Would you keep it and cook it?

    Thank you.

Thank you… glad that I waited to hear back from the CR!

Okay so I have vinegar, salt, oil, Italian seasoning, and a Ziploc bag at home.

Since I’m going to minimize the oil and salt, and maybe I can add water then so it’s not 98% vinegar?

I just watched an amazingly powerful video of a guy who went an entire week without talking to anyone, who then met an older man who, like many of today’s elders, normally goes weeks without talking to a human being…

The video was to raise awareness about our forging connections with are older neighbors.

I don’t know if it is happening to Jewish communities, but it can technically G-d forbid happen.

It has happened to other communities, and individual property owners.

I’m just learning about the subject. Up until now, I didn’t know that there are situations where one’s property can be legally seized so long as “just compensation” is paid to the owner. Acquiring land via eminent domain is a process though, which sometimes involves a trial by jury depending on one’s state of residence (Planning Professional PhD and Professor of Urban and Regional Planning).

Joseph: What about when the city wants to take away property from non-English speaking Jewish homeowners by utilizing eminent domain?

To stop the city from proceeding with taking property belonging to Yidds in a “blighted” area, Yidden need to have a “highly organized” opposition to the city and developers (Direct quote from respected planning professional and Professor of Urban and Regional Planning).

In other words, the community needs to be extremely vocal in the political arena, often working with lawyers and social rights groups to defend their property.

How would this work if no American Yidden spoke English? How would they assert and defend themselves against threats to their community?

    Seriously wondering… Thank you

Fingernail on chalkboard… the chalkboard can be a tool of learning and connecting to a material with another person who uses one’s hand, palm and fingers that grip a piece of chalk.

Now, if the teacher in this scenario takes a fingernail instead of piece of chalk to the board, the sound normally irritates the common observer, creating a distance between the fingernail person and the pupil in this scenario.

Today, generally speaking, anyone capable of creating a thread online might be that teacher.

I’m sorry I don’t have any help for you in regards to PANDAS at this moment. I’m just learning about the disorder from you.

It sounds like you have so much on your plate, and you are doing what you need to do to get the best care and future for your son. Figuring out a diagnosis is a trial-and-error process, and you’re doing amazing by being your son’s advocate here. I commend you for your persistence!

Whether your son has PANDAS or not, the solution or treatment here is not easy or clearcut, but b’esrat Hashem this [turbulence] too shall pass and your son and family will become stronger and closer as you grow through this together.

Keep being the Ema that your son needs right now.
