Thanks okay so now I will elaborate a bit…

Yes I sent an email to a person, the “human” (being vague so I don’t have to say gender or anything) — and it may have been loaded with lashon hara. I am so confused here though. I guess that I didn’t have to disclose anymore unless I wanted to ask another question.

I don’t know what to do. This person is long-distance and I don’t know the person in real life. But I reached out to this person and said stuff about something that happened that may have been lashon hara.

    So now what?

    Thank you!

Pens can draw on clothing, walls, skin, etc.
Pencils are less messy in that sense.

Of course it is not violating Hashem’s Will to not invent teleportation.

To say that it is never going to exist limits us. Who knows what is in Hashem’s Will?

If a situation comes up that makes sense then it can be invented. Like maybe to help in the military or something.

I don’t know Hashem’s Will. I think it’s important to keep a positive and open outlook on what is possible. So we can do what may come up b’esrat Hashem.

    Thank you 🙂

If the CR was a jungle then we would be catching onto those cool rope-like vines!

Though that would require swinging onto tree branches and it could get scary to swing without some way of avoiding collisions.

Let’s change the subject please… actually may we please go back to the OP?

I asked if there was another version of the story. Besides the scraping his skin off and having a torturous death, is there a version of the Rabbi Akiva story where he has a not unpleasant and not untimely death?

Sorry if someone answered and I didn’t see it yet… Wondering please:

I heard from some source, I don’t remember where, that there is a contradictory story where Rabbi Akiva had an uneventful death. Is there a story like that in another source?

    Thank you <3

Yay LU!!! And this is extra special because I thank my friend for teaching me to clean on Sundays!!! 🙂

When I spent Shabbos at her place once, I was sweeping some food or something from the floor (I’ve done this before for a Rebbetzin who said that it is okay if it is not like actual work and it’s for the experience of Shabbat —Like I could also take a full bag of trash out of the house and put it in the trashcan outside too on Shabbos). So anyway, my friend told me to just stop and relax because on Sundays she cleans the house anyway and that’s how she starts the week.

It feels so good too! Yays so glad that it worked out for you LU 🙂 🙂 🙂

Lol. So interesting because I just used it on my carpets and hard flooring. Because it does that sweeping thing, I thought that it did a better job at picking up fur from the hard flooring vs carpets. But I don’t know.

But yes I can def see how it would spread kibble all over the place.

🙂 Sending blessings to Mrs. CTL. Hope she’s good. 🙂

    100% LU ~ Thanks!

My comment was to Joseph. Him saying that I read too many comics can be taken as him writing off the idea as if something like teleportation cannot exist beyond the realm of fantasy (hence, comics). To say that teleportation cannot exist and is only a thing of one’s imagination is limiting our responsibility to fulfill Hashem’s Will.

Do we know for 100% certainty that teleportation will never be possible? Does one dare say that he or she knows Hashem’s Will, for now and the future, enough to say that such a thing is impossible?

—Granted it’s not like I expect to be teleporting and frankly doubt its possibility in many ways… and yet why? Because my world is built on assumptions of what is science and matter and physical and oneself. Teleportation, at least from the movies, requires molecules to separate and then reunite. We are living breathing units of human flesh. That seems like the end of a person. That said –I’m not saying that it’s impossible. So much is possible in this world! Thank G-d 🙂

QUOTED: ““whenever someone makes an incorrect assumption about someone.”
“I think several different mods on several different occasions have tried to correct this misperception of yours.”

LU SAID: “And in so doing, inadvertently proved me right!”

WHAT I COMPREHENDED: People are assuming that they know what a poster means or is talking about here, including fancying that he/she knows the poster’s intentions to boot!

Then someone comes in to say that they tried to correct LU’s “misperception” which is perfect demonstration of how someone is making an assumption about a poster and thinks that he/she knows who the poster is and what the poster is really thinking.

SO the POINT PROVEN is that even AT THIS MOMENT —-PEOPLE are making up their own stories about what this person meant and did not mean and is thinking or whatever. Sometimes these assumptions that posters make about another’s poster’s character and/or intentions totally dominate the reality of the words that the poster actually shared and within the context of the poster’s posting.

The end. If I misunderstood the misunderstanding, I guess that at least my post has company. Who am I to know anything? I just shared what I read. We all see with different lenses. 🙂

Thank you LU for that! <3 <3 <3

Wow that means a lot ~ THANK YOU!!! I just copied and pasted your words and sent them to myself in an email so I can have it on-file.

I honestly have felt the same way. When I was on my hiatus, there was something that really irked me that someone said to you. I don’t remember what it was now. So during therapy I explained to my therapist that I really wanted to go back on the CR to defend you. But at the same time there was a lot going on and I removed myself from the CR to focus on IRL stuff and let go of whateverness was happening in the CR. My therapist said that she understood but it didn’t seem like I had the time to be doing this right now? And alas. I did see you later say something and I was silently cheering! Then the conversation shifted focus or whatever I don’t remember. You never need to apologize to me! Seriously. I thank you. I literally pray for you and thank you in my prayers. Sorry that’s cheesy but it’s true.

Thank you. When things have come up here as of recently that felt like injustice calling, I contemplated my options. Sometimes just letting it pass does help.

About being back here. I think at the end of the day, posters are like family. They become like family. I don’t know about you but there are some family members that are triggersome for me. Whether the person completely misreads me IRL and/or says offensive things and I am left staring with an open jaw trying to figure out how someone can spit out such things and not even see their words as weapons, it helps to keep that person’s baggage loaded onto him or her. Because trying to help someone else carry baggage that they don’t consider baggage gets heavy.

I heart you! Remember anytime that you feel like you want to apologize to me, take care of you first <3 I know you’re good and send your blessings. Sending you blessings always too 🙂

Try telephoning the city center building. They have resources there and can connect you to someone.

When I went there to ask about city tours, they gave me a whole bunch of maps and the name of a few tour guides. Even saying the word “internet” is taboo.

Think old-school here –word of mouth and call people who can lead you to the right place.

    Hope that helps and b’hatzlacha!!!

Thank you Meno! Finally someone understands.

I mean literal teleportation. You can’t even see it. There is no going to an airport or joining a group of strangers to get places.

It’s all about traveling instantaneously to where you need to be. Kids coming along? Great. Just think them into the picture and they’ll join you. Or you can teleport them to school.

Your husband or wife teleports home. Teleports to the store. Groceries too.

That’s what I am talking about.

Even Mary Poppins got closer to teleportation than we have thus far. And that was a long long time ago.

So why invest in airplanes when the answer is within? No traffic drama. No accidents. And we will adjust to the system. So it comes naturally and we don’t end up overteleporting. It will become like breathing.

    Thank you

Joseph are we even allowed to daven for that? That seems contradictory to Torah, because how can one die al Kiddush Hashem and have a long natural life at the same time? Wouldn’t someone need to be slain by the hands or acts of another human or event that disrupts one’s life somehow?

Thank you!!! I appreciate the advice.

I have to tell myself that it tznius is not nerdy or plain — I feel like I associate frumpy with frum but it’s not true. Then I feel resentful because I walk in all frumpy and even the most tznius rebbetzin looks so pretty and put together and I’m over here feeling forced to wear a potato sack and can’t wait to get home to change my outfit. Which makes tznius feel like oppression. It’s not like that though. So yay. I guess I am searching for balance.

Okay so I am going to try something different this time and be more myself but still modest. Thank you 💖💖💖

When going to a Shabbos seudah at a rabbi’s house, does a girl dress tzniusly like wearing flat shoes to look more plain, because it is at a rabbi’s house, or can she wear heels and look nicer for her age, because she is dressing with the intention to meet her beshert?

Please please please respond… I’m torn here and don’t know what to do. I often err on the side of caution and go for a more plain modest look but then feel insecure and so fake because the majority of girls are dressed up and I feel like I am dressing up, or down, to be someone else. Like a false impression and restrained. At the same time, since this is a rabbi and rebbetzin that I never met before, I want to be respectful. Plus it is their home.

Some rebbetzin’s wear nice heels and others don’t. What is best? Maybe wedges?

    Thank you 🙂

I remember when it used to be less expensive to bake goods at home. While this may still be the case if one buys in bulk, it still takes a lot of time to bake and at least for me, time is a luxury and so are the expenses of baking.

Maybe there was a time when secret recipes gave a company or person an advantage. Status. Now maybe even if it is no secret, people will still buy something store bought or homemade because it just tastes better and/or has more appeal for today’s world and life.

I think it’s nice to have a secret ingredient or recipe. A rebbetzin told me the secret to her hummus and it really changed everything! Such a blessing 🙂

CTLAWYER: Would you recommend that someone go to a lawyer first? I heard that the best thing to do at first is to contact a lawyer before telling anyone about winning, even family. Then get a LLC.

But how would someone find a lawyer who doesn’t already have one that he/she trusts?
