I vote no more handshaking, period.
No alternative fist bump or elbow bump.
No heel of the shoe touch.
Just personal boundaries.
Professional boundaries without touching.
Also no kisses on the cheek even if it’s the same sex.
I’m not a fan of forced social touching.
The end.LightbriteParticipantLuna Lovegood: Thank you for sharing such pertinent information! I thought that the DNR issue was just about not having enough ICU-space/ventilators… the fact that resuscitating someone would risk other’s lives (even more so) might be a rodef situation (?) or at least, yes, not an easy decision, and yet necessary.
Much appreciated
LightbriteParticipantAlthough recommending this site will result in less stock (theoretically), fyi you can find some good deals for new 1000 piece puzzles on eBay 🙂
As far as safety, I’ve been spraying the exterior packages (and puzzle boxes too) with Lysol and let them sit for a few days.
Target had some good puzzles by me, and the good news is that the store has been getting more puzzles in stock weekly. However, the last time that I went to the store (when I also needed food), all of their adult (over 300 pieces) puzzles were sold out. Hence, I’ve been scrounging around online.
Btw, my friend saw some puzzles at Joann Fabrics the other day, but I didn’t ask her how many pieces in a box.
LightbriteParticipantThus far, the Thomas Kinkade 1000 piece puzzle (Buffalo brand) that I completed was by far the hardest. I just started a Charles Wysocki puzzle by the same manufacturer. This brand, thus far from my experience, has the trickiest-shaped pieces.
My last puzzle was a MB brand 1000 piece puzzle. The coating on the pieces made it far more superior, but in terns of a challenge, this puzzle wasn’t as challenging (and all the pieces were more or less rectangular).
I haven’t tried any puzzles under or over 1000 pieces. As far as I’ve seen, some puzzles with over 1000 pieces are too large for me to place on a piece of furniture (sideboard).
Also… I did by the Stow and Go to put away the puzzle when I need a puzzle break, but have not used it yet (it’s mainly a piece of felt, which makes it difficult (read “impossible”) to slide pieces around).
LightbriteParticipantPuzzles puzzles puzzles!

March 15, 2020 5:14 pm at 5:14 pm in reply to: Sheva Brachos in EY, under the current quarantine restrictions: No 10+ groups #1840052LightbriteParticipantJoseph: You must have a minyan to hold a chasunah?
I thought that you just needed witnesses, the chatan, and the kallah –technically, those minimum requirements amount to less than 10 people.
LightbriteParticipantJoseph: I’m really hoping/praying that he will somewhat quarantine himself. However, since I can’t control another person, with Hashem’s help, I will quarantine myself from visiting. I rather be safe because there’s already a confirmed community spread in my region, and I know that even getting to that level of “proof” means that there are undocumented cases out there.
LightbriteParticipantThanks for your feedback lowerourtuition11210.
I don’t know if he was exposed to anyone with coronavirus in EY. But who knows.
Besides being overseas, he will be traveling through two of the US’s 13 designated enhanced health screening airports. One of the two is for his connecting flight. The second is the destination airport, where I would have to pick him up.
Thank you… This whole coronavirus threat is surreal, but I don’t want the virus’s invisibility to prevent me from practicing caution.
Appreciated

Good to know 🙂
LightbriteParticipantDef am not a fan of pizza that tastes like socks.
Picky about toppings… For example, I won’t eat pizza that had onions in it (even if they are picked out). Mushrooms are also a no no.
More crust is better.
In summary, not a fan of all pizza.
LightbriteParticipantI don’t think that it should be banned, for the sake of freedom of speech.
That said, it’s dismissive of a generation of voices, which deserve to speak.
That said, the saying is also a backlash to all the talk about Millennials that we’ve been hearing and reading about for how long now? Too long.

All of their US stock looks like they only sell front-loading machines for consumers here, according to Miele’s website.

LightbriteParticipantOkay so on the other hand, who is this guy in my driveway? Better to ask him to move than call the police because a suspicious person is waiting in my driveway.
How is the homeowner supposed to know that the other person isn’t up to something? Even someone who looks like a good Jew might be trouble. Maybe it’s a privacy issue too. Some people leave their curtains open. Or are simply walking inside in their pjs. It could be uncomfortable to have a stranger basically waiting around in your paved front yard.
LightbriteParticipantWhere is the simcha hall? Does this happen to you every time there is a simcha?
LightbriteParticipantMaybe the homeowner deals with this every simcha. Another guy and another guy wait in his driveway. Maybe he values his and his family’s privacy.
September 18, 2019 11:15 pm at 11:15 pm in reply to: Best New Top Loading Washing Machine (Washer) #1787994LightbriteParticipantThank you Gadolhadorah! After reading your post about Speed Queen’s having small capacities, the brand was removed from the list of options. I didn’t realize how small the washers were. You just saved my friend a trip to the premium appliance store that isn’t open on Sundays (and probably $1-grand to boot!).
Thanks everyone!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Best to not involve leaf blowers in laundry
.
September 11, 2019 10:19 pm at 10:19 pm in reply to: Best New Top Loading Washing Machine (Washer) #1785993LightbriteParticipantLowerourtuition11210: For anyone with a front loader, if you make a little ramp on the floor in front of it, you can hypothetically blow your dirty clothes into the front loader with a leaf blower. Getting the clothes out would still require bending though.
LightbriteParticipantIn my high school AP psychology class. My teacher went to play a video for us to watch and for a moment we saw mayhem on the news. We didn’t know what that weird clip was all about so my teacher played the video, and then there was an announcement on the loud speaker. We had no idea that we had just watched what must have been live coverage for a moment. Unreal.

September 8, 2019 10:27 am at 10:27 am in reply to: Best New Top Loading Washing Machine (Washer) #1784740LightbriteParticipantGadolhadorah: Thank you for your info!
About Front-Loaders: One major downside (dealbreaker) of front loaders is that they get stinky/moldy and need to be cleaned monthly. In South Florida, it seems like everyone who has a front-loader not only needs to keep the lid open after each use, but tackle any mold issues monthly.
September 8, 2019 10:26 am at 10:26 am in reply to: Best New Top Loading Washing Machine (Washer) #1784741LightbriteParticipantSo, are you saying that it’s not worth it to buy a Maytag or Whirlpool nowadays (both owned by Whirlpool)?
What about GE?
… I’ve heard that electronic panels are more expensive to fix. Also, LG parts supposedly discontinue, so fixing them is more expensive?
Have you ever seen/used a Speed Queen?
Thank you 🙂

LightbriteParticipantToo frugal to afford brand name cereal for breakfast? Skip the meal altogether!
LightbriteParticipantNo bananas for your morning smoothie? Just pop a plantain into that blender!
LightbriteParticipantPhilosopher, the idea of “cleansing” doesn’t sound so terrible.
In today’s context, “cleansing,” to me, is a process that I associate with beautification tasks, such as losing weight, cleaning the pores in my face, and rinsing the oils from my hair. I had pictured my soul having to go through a spiritual car wash of sorts, unpleasant, yet necessary, but in no means horrendous and painful.
LightbriteParticipantBtw, I am also a side sleeper.
LightbriteParticipantSerta *Medium* Hybrid Glenmoor from Sam’s Club in store
You can test out the mattress in the store.
It’s about $500 for the mattress. Mine is resting on a Bedder Bed base, which doesn’t need a box spring.
*Don’t order this Serta mattress online unless it says MEDIUM… as far as I’ve seen, the online Sam’s Club store only sells the Firm.
…I just purchased this mattress last month and for the first time since 2010 I have not woken up with shoulder pain (or any pain!). It is not needed, but full disclosure, I added a memory foam topper from Costco, which makes my sleep extra cushy.
Btw, last month I also bought and RETURNED Costco’s alleged “plush” Sealy Response Performance Gray Cove Plush Queen Mattress and Foundation because it was ridiculously hard/firm.
LightbriteParticipantOkie dokie… sounds good 🙂
