Letakein GirlParticipant
DY, I was responding to Ivory’s post, not the OP’s.
Ivory, oh! I’m sorry, in that case. I misunderstood your post.
Letakein GirlParticipantLol, cuzimjewish, that’s a great attitude!
😉
October 26, 2014 12:46 am at 12:46 am in reply to: So who here has actually been in the IDF? #1040467Letakein GirlParticipantIvory, I think that having children in the IDF is almost worse (by which I mean scarier) than being in the IDF yourself, you know what I mean?
It must be terrifying to know that your child might be facing an Arab with a weapon at any time of day! Fear of the unknown is a very significant fear.
October 25, 2014 11:50 pm at 11:50 pm in reply to: So who here has actually been in the IDF? #1040462Letakein GirlParticipantKol hakavod, takamamash.
Could we have your son’s name for Tehillim? The one that is currently serving, that is.
October 25, 2014 11:48 pm at 11:48 pm in reply to: Calling uncles and aunts without using their title #1136696Letakein GirlParticipantWhy is that yeridas hadoros? It shows that our generation is more comfortable with adults. That’s not necessarily a bad thing- it’s just different.
Parenting styles that worked wonders thirty years ago could prove disastrous if used today, for this reason.
Letakein GirlParticipantAmen!
May this week be one of health and happiness, of growth and success.
Letakein GirlParticipantCould someone please post the link to Bais Yaakov Maydel’s infamous thread?
Letakein GirlParticipantOh dear!
It’s not precious, it’s previous. Now my whole post sounds sarcastic! :'(
Letakein GirlParticipantThe Torahanytime app was updated just yesterday! I highly recommend it to every single jewish person out there. And please leave them a five star review- it helps them get donations, so you’d be fulfillingthe Mitzva of tzeddaka at the same time. (?)
Letakein GirlParticipantYou’re right, Yekke.
Voddmart, I’m sorry about my precious post. I judged you by one thread, and not judging people is something I am passionate about, so I really feel bad. Dunno what happened to me there. I have asked the mods to remove that post.
Letakein GirlParticipantRandomex,
Cuz I remember you came up with theories about how many mods there are.
Letakein GirlParticipantI dunno… I remember reading one of your posts in which you said you’re a teen, and I had this picture of you in my head of a sixteen year old BY student. And all of a sudden you’re married. 🙂 lol
Letakein GirlParticipantSometimes, I randomly say a perek of tehillim for Hashem to help my zivug make the right decisions.
Letakein GirlParticipantwhat little froggie said
Letakein GirlParticipantFor future reference, my subtitle is “a work in progress.”
Letakein GirlParticipantHey Randomex, look at the first page of his thread. There is a mod 613!
Letakein GirlParticipantIf you look at my profile page, you’ll see that my screen name was started one month ago, and E****** hasn’t posted in over a year…
I’ll let logic do its magic. 🙂
Lol, should I still be bleeping her name out?
Letakein GirlParticipantI think I remember notasheep saying that her name symbolizes her independent thinking- she doesn’t mindlessly wander about, or something like that.
It’s such a creative name! Perfect for her.
Letakein GirlParticipantOh, I just noticed my subtitle!
Thank you mod! 😀
Lol, now I have Ari Goldwag singing “I’m Imperfect” in my head…
Life’s a work in progress
That’s reality
We’re just under construction
It’s not always nice to see…
So glad you like it – 29
Letakein GirlParticipantHey, you’re right, LG! This place did quiet down after she left.
I wish e****** hadn’t left… She was the best! I remember reading her posts and thinking that I should post on the cr just so that I could talk to someone as amazing and special as her.
For all the newbies, you could see how awesome she is from the fact that she quit the cr cold turkey. That takes an insane amount of self control!
E******, if you’re reading this, just know that we miss your inspiring, funny, and insightful comments, and hope that you’re doing well.
Letakein GirlParticipantWow, that’s beautiful! Great idea, Sidi.
It’s embarrassing to admit, but I often find myself biting my nails on Shabbos. This shabbos, I will be extra vigilant!
Letakein GirlParticipantWow, eftach!
If I’d have a daughter, I’d send her to the school you teach in.
Letakein GirlParticipantThis thread is such a kiddush Hashem.
🙂
Letakein GirlParticipantWoah, cozimjewish! Three weeks on the cr, and you’ve been through three subtitles?! That’s gotta be a record!
Mods, am I really so unremarkable as not to have been granted a subtitle? Feels like I’m posting here forever.
:,(
Letakein GirlParticipantSo awesome!
Letakein GirlParticipantCozimjewish gave practical advice, I think…
Letakein GirlParticipantWow, thats a beautiful perspective! I really like the “apple without the the core” mashal! Did you make that up?
Letakein GirlParticipantWhat coffee addict said.
Letakein GirlParticipantYup. Sorry, my reaction was a bit extreme.
Letakein GirlParticipantWhy do you wake up at six to ruin your straight hair????!!!!
Seriously, I don’t understand you. Straight hair is a gift from Hashem. Why would you ruin it?!
Letakein GirlParticipantGuard Your Eyes. Without a doubt.
Letakein GirlParticipantSure! Here’s a list of some of the free apps available on the App Store:
– Yeshiva World News
– Torah Anytime. Their app isn’t for ios 8, but they’ll be coming out with an update any day now. The app is amazing! I strongly urge you to download it. It has a few bugs, but they’ll be fixed in the next update. They have video shiurim from over two hundred speakers, including Rabbi Zechariah Wallerstein, Rabbi Benzion Klatzko, Rabbi Yosef Veiner, Mr. Charlie Harari, Rebbetzin Yemima Mizrachi, and many other prominent speakers.
– Aish
– sefiras haomer app. Dunno what the one I use is called, cuz I delete it from year to year, but there’s a free app that works wonderfully, and is very useful.
– Iberacha- this app is very useful- it has a search engine that you can use to find the correct bracha for virtually any food item, and it has Birchas Hamazon.
– Siddurapp- this app is the best free siddur in the App Store (in my opinion), but it only has the Ashkenazi nusach. The format is very clear. If you want sephard, there are several other free apps that offer both nusachim.
– there is an app with all the zemanim, I forget what it is called. Search the app store for it.
– ??? ??? ???? is an app with the hebrew calendar. It isn’t very clear, and has ads in very annoying places, but it’s the only free one on the App Store…
– shema@bed is an app with Kriyas Shema Al Hamita. It was made for kids, but it also has he full version for adults. It’s very useful.
– there are several apps which contain Tehillim. I don’t use any of them, because I find that it’s harder to have concentration when reading from a screen, so I can’t tell you which one is good.
– The Shmuz is an app that contains over 200 of Rabbi Bentzion Shafeir’s shiurim.
– Kol Halashon is an app with shiurim from thousands of rabbonim. It has a few bugs, and its setup isn’t very user friendly, but it’s still pretty good. It has shiurim in six different languages.
– Torah Lectures is another app with shiurim. I downloaded it just so I could hear Rabbi Dovid Orlofsky’s shiur on Platinic Relationships. I liked the shiur so much, I kept the app just for that.
– Divine Information is an app containing many lectures by Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi. It has a few bugs (video lectures don’t play), but it’s worth it anyways.
– Jewish Music is an app that streams jewish music 24/7. It’s very good- I like their song choices.
– YWN Music
– Jroot Pro- get the pro app, not the other one. This app isn’t all that great- it crashes often, but the shows are ok.
– Nachum Segal. There are some great shows on this app. I’d recommend it.
Hope this helps!
Letakein GirlParticipantI don’t see what is wrong with a teacher affectionately touching a student! (Wow, that came out sounding so weird…) now, that doesn’t mean I approve of corporal punishment. They are two completely different things! Chad veshalom that I would ever approve of such barbarism! I don’t think anyone ever benefits from corporal punishment. It just makes te student detest his teacher, and by extension, Judaism too!
I vividly remember an incident in which a teacher of mine hugged and kissed me, after I achieved a major breakthrough in something. I needed that validation. Words wouldn’t accomplish nearly as much as that did.
Letakein GirlParticipantAmen!

October 15, 2014 2:27 am at 2:27 am in reply to: NeutiquamErro's favorite thread with an obscure title #1147442Letakein GirlParticipantWOW!!!!
How many times did you guys read each book?
Letakein GirlParticipantI think it’s “i hug my daddy tight, and I’m not letting go…”
Letakein GirlParticipantNext time you talk to a teenage girl, pay attention to the amount of times she says “so.”
It’s funny- until someone points it out, you don’t notice it, but most teen girls start every other sentence off with that word. It’s strange!
Letakein GirlParticipantMazal tov!!!!!!
Thank you for sharing such lovely news and putting a smile on my face.
Letakein GirlParticipantCozimjewish,
It’s really funny that the secretary used the same lashon. 🙂
You’re right, that guy was probably referring to a driving permit. I just wanted to sound smart and educated, lol. 😉
Letakein GirlParticipantWhat kind of permit?
Driving, sign, building… There are lots of permits that one can want. More details, please.
Letakein GirlParticipantListen to music!
Dance around the kitchen, singing like a rock star! (Pretend you know how to dance.)
If you have kids, dump the phone and TALK to them. Play a game of Monopoly with the family.
If you’re a guy, learn.
Letakein GirlParticipantWow, that’s terrifying.
Excuse me, I’m gonna go shiver under my covers.
Letakein GirlParticipantWait, WHAT?!
Streekgeek, ur married?! You’re so kidding, right?
Letakein GirlParticipantARWSF,
I found that thread just yesterday! I was wondering what happened in the end. So happy to hear things are ok now.
Letakein GirlParticipantSidi,
Lol, I wish! 🙂
Actually, that would turn us into angels. I’ve always wanted to fly…
Letakein GirlParticipantYou should really check Nechama Cohen out…
She has several original songs on YouTube-
– heartbeat
– forgive me
– perfectly imperfect (the sound is a bit off, tho)
– the edge of prayer- released just a few weeks ago!
They are AMAZING!
I also love Chanale! She is so talented…
Yes, yosef chaim shwekey is also related to yaakov. I heard one of his songs recently- his voice is very similar to yaakov’s!
Letakein GirlParticipantShopping, the new girls are so cute and fun!!!!
They remind me of the relationship you, streekgeek, and taom have. You guys just GET each other, ya know? Also OURtorah. You know, all four mentioned above haven’t been on the cr in a while! What’s up with that?
DW, I feel outa the loop too. Oh well… Gam zu letova.
Abt people never listening to you in real life, hey- don’t I count? 😉
Cozimjewish,
DW, I’m sure it’s nothing personal. It’s just that if you read over this thread, you’ll notice that your posts were very short ones, so Shopping overlooked them. Also, over the years there have been many people with names similar to yours (iluvbeingjewish, imajew….) so she may have thought you were an old timer.
Letakein GirlParticipantScared driver,
Whenever there is a space in a screen name, the link to see the person’s profile page is broken. Basically, the spaces get replaced with “20%” so you need to erase all of the 20%s from the link and replace them with dashes (-).
Letakein GirlParticipantI think It was really nice of oomis to answer rockout. Even if he was trolling, she’ll still get the zechusim for spending time to answer Kiruv questions.
