When I grow up, I want to be a fire truck.
LemonySnicketParticipantThanks all for the answers.
Special shout-out to Oomis and Plonialmoni. Great advice!

June 22, 2012 5:35 pm at 5:35 pm in reply to: Is it allowed to copy a CD with yewish music…………. #880806LemonySnicketParticipantOf Zion?
LemonySnicketParticipant“Btw, you’re knocking one of your own. Cherrybim is a big Zionist.”
Are cherrybim and Kfb part of a different religion than yours cause they support Israel? That’s what you make it sound like.
Btw I went to last years parade but not going this year as I don’t see a need to celebrate a country that kicks Jews out of their homes.
LemonySnicketParticipantPoppa is the Whomping Willow- looks all nice and innocent, but get too close and BAM! he’ll knock you out.
The Goq is a chocolate frog- always sweet and filled with fun facts 🙂
Joseph is Peeves- always ready to throw a dungbomb at us coffee roomers; while mod 42 is Filch, chasing Joseph/Peeves away with a virtual broom.
May 4, 2012 8:48 pm at 8:48 pm in reply to: Make up a story about those stolen manhole covers #873246LemonySnicketParticipantNabisco started selling jumbo oreos.
LemonySnicketParticipantWolf – “Since we all agree that the Moslem God is the same as our God, it certainly is proper respect and courtesy to capitalize His name.”
I disagree. The islamic moon god is nothing but a blood thirsty maniac who glorifies the murder of innocents. That’s certainly not the God I believe in. I think “alla” is just fine (IMHO of course)
LemonySnicketParticipantIf its just $150 for the car it’s likely a stick and not an automatic. also remember that gas costs almost double what it costs in some parts of the U.S.. If you do rent a car please be careful as people there tend to drive like maniacs.
April 1, 2012 12:35 pm at 12:35 pm in reply to: Europe abandoning their struggling Euro currency AND JOINING THE US DOLLAR IN 2015. This will drive #864641LemonySnicketParticipantThe democrats never learn. This is almost a worse idea than when in 1984 president Lincolnvelt wanted to combine the entire Middle East into the 51st state of Saudi-Israelia
LemonySnicketParticipantMods, I’d like my subtitle to be “will say good Shabbos to you, and you better answer back!”
Much obliged
LemonySnicketParticipantI narrow it down to- If you like saying good Shabbos to people- Flatbush. If you like getting glared at for saying good Shabbos to people- Boro park
LemonySnicketParticipantI was there. Can I have my money now?
LemonySnicketParticipantPoppa- is Alaska as pretty as I’d imagine it to be, with wild moose and grizzly bears dancing merrily in the snow?
LemonySnicketParticipantCharlie: “I saw an Irishman today”
Peter: “Oh, really?”
Charlie: “O’Reilly!”
Haha corny. But I seriously love Ireland. ‘Tis a beautiful land it is.
LemonySnicketParticipantgrw- Mational Basketball Association
LemonySnicketParticipantForget kissing the hand of a tzadik. There’s this new fab that some bochurim do that after they shake your hand they kiss their own hand as if you have some holy powers or something and it’ll transform itself to him. Man that is annoying!
LemonySnicketParticipantI noticed I became lactose intolerant lately as well. My sister used to be terribly intolerant but she grew out of it. I’m hoping it’ll be the same for me.
I bought a generic brand of lactaid at CVS for much less and it has helped a ton. Many pharmacies and supermarkets have there own generic brands that work just as well. I would take 2 at a time if I’m eating or drinking something heavy.
LemonySnicketParticipantYou’d better daven that Eli ben Archie gets a refuah from his stomach virus first.
LemonySnicketParticipantGO GIANTS!!!
LemonySnicketParticipantDon’t take them to Beit shemesh
LemonySnicketParticipantHummingbird- Energy wise I usually have a very difficult time waking up in the mornings but I’m not sure if that’s because of IBS. I signed up for they gym recently as that’s supposed to relieve stress and energize the body more. I also bought some probiotics which are supposed to be really good for gas and bloating.
I usually have to wake up at least 3 hours before work cause I’m in the bathroom for at least an hour every morning (and even then I barely make it to work on time) I was so glad I was off today as well cause I was able to sleep a little late and not have to panic like I do every morning. I know the miserable feeling; the hardest part is concentrating at work when my stomach feels like it’ll explode. When I’m at home I usually don’t feel as bad cause I feel more relaxed.
LemonySnicketParticipantKapusta- Cool, how can I contact her?
Health- Thanks for that link. Really helpful info!
LemonySnicketParticipant“I can feel like a healthy person without enough gas in me to blow up all of Gaza.” lol awesome!
I looked up the chair pad thing. Sounds like a neat idea but I can’t imagine myself shlepping that wherever I go. (It’d look weird sitting on it in mass transit lol)
2qwerty- that’s an interesting site; thanks for the heads up.
aries- That’s an awesome idea! I’ll give that a shot.
LemonySnicketParticipantDoes that mean I can’t eat chummus forever? Wow my Shabbos meals will be a lot harder! Do you think those charcoal pills will work if I still eat hummus or am I just grasping at straws?
LemonySnicketParticipantsnjn- Thank you for the encouragement. I will definitely try to cut back on these foods. At least I know I’m not the only one.
LemonySnicketParticipantThank you all for your input. I do have an appt with the doctor coming up but if he doesn’t find a solution I’m going to have quit my job (if they dont fire me) cause it’s too embarrassing to work in public with these conditions.
November 23, 2011 2:01 am at 2:01 am in reply to: Virus Alert – Fake U.S.Postal Service Email #829270LemonySnicketParticipantsoliek- I don’t mean to start a whole fanboy war but I used to be a PC user but got “converted” to mac. With Mac I don’t need to wait 15 minutes for the CPU to start, no soft/spyware, almost no crashes etc, basically it’s awesome and I don’t intend to switch back anytime soon. The only thing I don’t like with Mac is you can’t play many top PC games on it or use Microsoft office out of the box but you could always get parallels.
LemonySnicketParticipantSomebody? Anybody?
November 21, 2011 7:22 pm at 7:22 pm in reply to: Moving somewhere else since there are no jobs in NY #828894LemonySnicketParticipantRalph- I’d love to drive to far off places for a living. Office work is not for me. Any companies in particular are you speaking of?
BT- would a frum person be able to do that?
November 21, 2011 7:19 pm at 7:19 pm in reply to: Virus Alert – Fake U.S.Postal Service Email #829264LemonySnicketParticipantIt’s times like these I’m glad I have a Mac.

When you stop writing your name and restrictions on seforim : “this belongs to me, please ask permission unless you mammesh can’t find your gemara and you’re late to shiur and your rebbe is mad at you cause you always come late, then and only then can you take the gemara without permission but please return it to it’s makom kevua when your done.”
November 2, 2011 12:49 am at 12:49 am in reply to: I'm sitting at a Simcha; What would we do without our thumbs? #823211LemonySnicketParticipantIf you want some real (and evil) entertainment, shake the seltzer bottles and watch hilarity ensue when some unsuspecting chap tries to open it. Bonus points for causing the speech giver to lose his concentration.
LemonySnicketParticipantThat was a painful end! Oh well, at least we won’t have to worry about the score during Yom Tov this year.
LemonySnicketParticipantThey are not part of Judaism Anymore IMHO. I recently saw some of these nuts in manhattan holding signs and yelling their drivel. I spoke to them thinking I could rationalize with them but it was useless. They were cursing out Rav Kook Z”TZL. There’s no talking sense into someone who’s life is bent on hate. Like arab terrorists, there’s no dialogue with these “people”. They probably even get paid by the iranian government.
September 13, 2011 12:35 am at 12:35 am in reply to: Opinion: Is Israel on the Brink of War? #809193LemonySnicketParticipantScary! I think Israel is indeed in the brink of war. The Israelis shouldn’t make the same arrogant mistakes of the Lebanon wars, thinking that they are immortal and no one can defeat them. Israel (and Jews in general) seem to do best when pushed back into a wall (like in ’67) with seemingly no way out. Israel can’t lets it’s military might get into it’s own head again.
LemonySnicketParticipantIf you live in the Brooklyn area, try PCS Agudah. They’re a job placement agency for the community. 718-436-1900
LemonySnicketParticipantThere is a small basement shteible on Rechov Ramat Hagolan which I’m pretty sure has a daily Shachris and Shabbos minyanim.
LemonySnicketParticipantIt’s pronounced “harry”
According to my many years in research of this subject; as I understand it, A Harry is someone who wears white socks with dress slacks and who pronounces “Moshe” as “Moe-sheh” It has to be a combination of the two. I sometimes wear white socks with dress slacks but I say “Moshe” so I am officially disqualified. (sorry if this upsets anyone but hey, I didn’t set the rules)
August 28, 2011 5:42 am at 5:42 am in reply to: Anyone currently posting in Brooklyn? What's the hurricane situation? #804726LemonySnicketParticipantIt’s raining heavily and pretty windy but so far not too terrible. My basement is getting flooded up though.
LemonySnicketParticipantRemember when cellphones were just meant to make phone calls and not be a music player/web browser/gps/videogame console/mobile workstation super computer? Yeah, neither do I….
August 18, 2011 4:17 am at 4:17 am in reply to: Never did I eat anything as delicious as Bamba hazelnut filling #806509LemonySnicketParticipantWhen I first had them in Israel; I thought they were out of this world. T’was like 10 shekels a pop but so worth it! So simple, yet so complex and delicious. Whoever invented this magical snack is a true gentleman (or gentlewoman) and scholar! Bamba for president! (not Obamba)
August 9, 2011 4:26 am at 4:26 am in reply to: In honor of Tisha B'av. What you respect about… #1165078LemonySnicketParticipantI respect Yekkes for meticulously coming to Shul on time.
I respect Chassidim for wearing the livush even when in places where there aren’t many Jews (unlike me where I always try to blend in)
LemonySnicketParticipantHaha after I saw that movie I also always thought I was in a world created just for me where everyone is watching my every move. Look up Truman Show Delusion.
LemonySnicketParticipantDepends on my mood. Sometimes it’s Father and Mother. (in British accent) “Well hello Father, hello Mother. Lovely day for a tea is it not?” Father- “Indeed”
Or sometimes I call them Muddah and Faddah and I sing “Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh. Here I am at Camp Granada….”
I wouldn’t mind if my kids called me “naynay” or “rufruf” or “fifi”. Something different. Like who standardized totty lol?
LemonySnicketParticipantWhat do you mean by best? Most cellphone stores are authorized retailers; meaning that they don’t set the prices for the plans but the company does i.e AT&T. In my experience Sprint is the cheapest followed by AT&T and then Verizon. Verizon is usually the most expensive but they have the best coverage (mostly). A lot of customers in Brooklyn say AT&T always drops calls here.
Sprint has a family plan starting at $69.99 (excluding taxes and fees of course)
You could look up all the plans and info on their websites.
LemonySnicketParticipantHarlem
LemonySnicketParticipantTikkun – How do you get by? You sleep every day outside? What do you eat?
LemonySnicketParticipantUmmm Tikkun you don’t have a roof over your head in Israel? Even by E”Y standards, living in some sort of home or dwelling or abode is obviously a necessity and not a luxury. How do you get by? And how on earth do you survive without AC in that heat??
LemonySnicketParticipantMy heart is in E”Y and hopefully the rest of me will be there soon.
