Lostspark, this happened in Nevardak where there greatness was how they saw themselves as nothing compared to Slabodka where they looked at their potential through their great neshama. When a bachur arrived tp Nevardak. he saw the others say that they are nothing. so he followed them and was told, who are you to say you are nothing?

If the President sits in consecutive terms in the Oval Office, he is not counted, however, as long as he sits newly (not in the previous term) even not elected is counted.

When Spiro Agnew resigned, Nixon appointed Gerard Ford as his Vice President. When Richard Nixon resigned, Ford became President and appointed Nelson Rockefeller as his Vice President. When running again, Ford dropped Rockefeller for Bob Dole and lost the election to Jimmy Carter, so Ford was never elected President or Vice President.

The Hungarians have a joke, what is the difference between Lot’s wife and solet (pronounced sholet), the answer is nothing they both became salt. The meaning in Hungarian as chulent is pronounced is solet meaning became salt as ‘so’ means salt and ‘let’ means became.

The Dubner Maggid with the above reply #2054338 explains the mishna in Pirkei Avos שלי שלך, שלך שלך חסיד. If mine is yours isn’t obvious that your is yours? So he says that a person, when in question, is willing to give up his by saying mine is yours because he wants to be sure that the other person’s belongings stay with him. and his is his.

The mishna in the beginning of Bava Kama enumerates four means of causing harm. They can also be interpreted spiritually. The ox standing erectly, gaiva, the digging of a pit, being in the pits, sinning through the mouth, fire of desire, taiva. These mainly contribute to our sins.

He is completely narcissistic who has not stood up against white supremacists because he would have lost their votes. Only showed concern towards his rich cronies with his tax cuts by enriching the already rich corporations. He wanted to overturn the election by choosing false electors through storming the Capitol because he did not like the results.

A person can judge his own behavior with the interpretation of Rav Nasson Adler ztz’l as quoted by the talmid, the Chasam Sofer. כי יתן איש אל רעיהו כסף או כלים לשמור Hashem (being referred to as Ish) gives a person money and kelim, utensils (eyes, ears, mouth) to guard וגונב מבית האיש and he steals it away from Hashem by using it for his own purpose rather than doing mitzvos. אם ימצא הגנב ישלם שנים if he is found guilty by judgement Above, one pays double, one, for not listening and two, for not letting Hashem do good to him. אם לא ימצא הגנב, if he repents through love, so the sin gets completely erased, ונקרב בעל הבית אל האלקים, he brings himself closer to Hashem, more than if he never sinned, provided אם לא שלח ידו במלאכת רעיהו, if he did not violate sins of ben adam lechavero, personal inter- relationships.

Judgement from Above is mentioned by Rashi 21,13. Two individuals where one killed intentionally and other unintentionally and there are no witnesses for either one. Hashem invites them to one motel. The one who killed intentionally sleeps in a bunkbed below and other above. The one from above falls on the one from below and kills him with witnesses. Now, the one above goes to orei miklat, to exile and the one below got killed.

Avira, as a rebbe, you must agree that yeshiva boys must be educated of the great sin of motzei shem ra to accuse some one for abuse. Having them realize that it is not a game and the consequences it causes to the accused and the false accuser.

Wolf, getting a MBA does not make you an apikores. It actually makes us understand a mishna in Bava Metzia. It says הזהב קונה את הכסף, gold acquires silver because silver becomes the currency and gold a commodity. Why? Gresham’s Law says, bad money drives out good money from circulation. The bad money here is silver which becomes currency, being spent and gold will be horded and not spent becoming a commodity.

I heard that we start shmonei esrai by saying, Hashem open up my mouth to be able to utter your praises. Then, all we do is to ask for our needs. Where is the praise? The fact that we turn to Hashem to ask only from Him to fulfil or wishes is the praise. Wolf, so it is self understood that if you praised your mother is because of she being your mother and her abilities to raise you to be shomrei Torah umitzvos came from Hashem.

We can learn mussar from the goyim by how they run after a ball to run after a mitzva. We see this from Bilom when he bridled the donkey and was told that Avraham Avinu already did that, so he will not get any reward for his diligence.

Reb Moshe, ztz’l says to read veshinantom osom as veshinantem atem indicating that when we learn, our children, through seeing it, will also learn. I heard, הליכות עולם אל תקראו הליכות אלא הלכות, people learn how to behave from one’s behavior.

The problem is that they don’t know that we follow the mother and therefore think they are Jewish. BTW to understand why we follow the mother, I think, by creating something knew like a Jew, we go after the mother as yesh eim lamikro, but once determined Jewish, we follow the father, binyan av as a kohen, levi or yisrael.

Parents should raise children such that they should not be afraid to speak their mind to them. Abused parents will abuse children. A parable to understand the Abarbanel on honoring parents is where a father provided a wooden plate to his father, afraid being feeble and break it. When the grandfather passed on, the father wanted to discard it. His son told him, father don’t throw it out we need it for you. Children see how their parents behave and tend to follow them. If you honor your parents, your children will honor you and thereby have long life.

Also, capitalizing titles of topics when proper. When combining words inserting the apostrophe between them e.g. I’m instead of Im.
