See the Daas Zekenim Mibaal Tosafos Bereshis 41:45 on ויתן לו את אסנת and he gave him Osnas. Osnas was a daughter of Shechem and Dinah. Yaakov Avinu gave her a kamaieh which she wore on her neck. Then she was thrown out, ending up in mitzraim and having Patifar adopt her, giving her his name. When Yosef was crowned, she threw the kamaieh to him. He recognized it and married her.

The Midrash says באלה חטאו ובאלה נתכפרו the same manner they sinned they were forgiven. Explains the Shevet Sofer that the Ksav Sofer explains that when they sinned by the aigel they said אלה אלהיך ישראל the erev rav said to the bnei yisroel that the gold and the silver was your god because of whom you left mitzraim. So if gold and silver are so valuable and we are willing to give it up for the mishkan makes it much greater to deserve forgiveness.

The correction above is incorrect should be Machtzis Hashekel 278 not 378.

The Daas Zekenim Mibaal Tosfas says that the women were rewarded with Rosh Chodesh because they gave to the Mishkan first before the men but they had to be forced to give to the aigel. In S”A
O”CH in the beginning of Siman 417 says that women have a practice not to work on Rosh Chodesh and it is a nice custom. On Chanukah they also have a custom not to work as long as the candles are burning, according to the Chasan Sofer, this commemorates the Yomim Tovim which are eight biblically as the Yevonim wanted to eliminate their practice. The women commemorate the lighting of candles for Yom Tov and the men light Chanukah candles to commemorate the miracle with the oil,

The Dubner Magid gives a parable about shabbos. A collector was recognized by someone has someone who came from his home –
town. He started to ask him about his town. The collector refused to answer him, saying that you are losing money for me. The man said to the collector, you kn ow what, tomorrow we will make a holiday and I will pay all that you can make in order that you should be available to answer my questions. The collector being tired from the whole weeks work, falls asleep. The man gets upset that he is paying him and he falls asleep no answering his questions. Hashem gives us a day, paying for it, so we should spend with him and then we sleep away the whole day.

Joseph, I think that the same way that a woman is according to the Kol Bo exempt from mitzvas that are time dependent because her responsibility is to her husband, similarly the servant has responsibility towards his master.

ויקהל the midrash says unite into groups and teach them hilchas shabbos.
What is the difference between מלאכה שאינה צריכה לגופה and פסיק רישא?
The Kesef Mishneh on the Rambam Hilchas Shabbos 1:7 brings the explanation from the son of the Rambam Rabbi Avraham for example closing the door and deer is caught the catching of the deer is not intentional but it must happen, but digging a hole and he only wants the ground he digs the hole intentionally but does not do it for the purpose wanting the hole as was done in the mishkan. Asks the Machtzis Hashekel 378 according the later case is more logical to prohibit since it is done intentionally? He answers that since he doesn’t do it for the that purpose there is a היפך כוונה reverse intention on the purpose used in the mishkan.

The Chasam Sofer, that even though the others were able to bow down to Haman, Mordechai could not because Haman was his slave and so people will say that he is bowing down to an idol form Haman was wearing and not giving respect to him. The midrash says that Mordechai actually showed the contract to Haman indicating that he cannot bow down in front of him. They were together in a desert were Mordechai provided bread to Haman if he sells himself as a servant. The Chasam Sofer goes so far to interpret כי הגיד להם אשר הוא יהודי referring to Haman. Mordechai was telling them that he cannot bow down to Haman because he is considered to be a Jew.

Even the Mechaber would not require you to satisfy your chiyuv by making you sick. The Torah is דרכיה דרכי נועם and not to afflict yourself because we have to go lechumra. He would agree to just drink more than the usual.
Vashti said to Achashverus that you were a horse keeper for my father and he was able to drink a thousand glasses of wine and did not become drunk but you get drunk after one glass.
I think the connection is that because you are a horse keeper you cannot afford wine so you are not used to drinking, and therefore you get drunk even after one glass, but my father is rich so he drinks a lot and even a thousand glasses will not affect him.

The megila in the daytime is m’divrei kabolah lechumra but at night is oral law. A bar mitzva should not lein in the daytime but should be permitted at night. Isn’t divrei sofrim same as מדרבנן?

The person drunk doesn’t know what is greater the saving of the Bnei Yisroel or the destruction of Haman. ארור המן and ברוך מרדכי have the same gematria explains the Magen Avraham. There is a difference that is not so obvious. Arur is greater than Haman whereas Mordechai is greater then Baruch, Haman was diminished but Mordechai was elevated.

יום כפורים the midrash says that Yom Kippur is like Purim. They are both Kabolas Hatorah and they are both a time of forgiveness. Purim is greater it is a time of joy because we accepted the Torah willingly and we were saved but Yom Kippur also can be a tine of joy even if we fast. We fast on Yom Kippur falling on shabbos because forgiveness is our oneg shabbos.

I am not saying Trump is an anti-semite, but your quote encourages it. Like the difference between the chacham and rashe in the Haggadah. They sound the same, but the Chasan Sofer explains that the chacham uses similar language in order the rashe should think that he has a comrade in wickedness, saying you are a rashe I am also a rashe, and thereby he reveals himself. Similarly, if Trump is not careful with his language, he encourages the white nationalist to think that he is also an advocate of their cause.

    I wrote under the topic Purim Question;

The Chidushei Harim has an interesting idea about drinking on Purim. A man collected and set aside a lot of money to do an averoh. He met a very poor family who needed the money. Having mercy on them, he completely forgot why he put aside the money and gave it to them. The heavenly court became very impressed with his deed and decided to grant anything he wished. They became afraid that he will wish something that they are not ready to grant him, the redemption. So, they decreed that his whole life he will have to be drunk to be out of his mind. Purim is a very sacred day where they grant any wish כל הפושט יד נותנים לו whoever stretches up his hand is granted whatever he wants. We can ask for the redemption but it might not be time yet, so the chachomim decreed to be drunk this day.

The Biur Behalacha 695:2 explains that we drink because all the great miracles happened through drinking. First, Vashti was killed because of drinking as we see when Achashverus became sober he regretted what he did. Haman was decreed to be hanged at the meal , where their drinking most probably encouraged it.
