All three pillars unify us. Torah mentioned above, Avoda , if davening, we show caring for others. If doing mitzvos, we can encourage others to do them. Gemilos Chasodim is obvious. All three have the same gematria 611. Avoda is the same as Yiras and Gemilos Chasodim.

Create achdus by learning torah lishmah as the T”Z says in O”CH 47 where Torah is a give and take, questions and answers, bringing people together and eliminating sinas chinom. This will correct the reason for the destruction of the temple and bring Moshiach speedily in our time, Amen.

The argument between the Aruch Hashulchan and MB above might depend if hair is hirhur or erva.

The Aruch Hashulchan O”CH 75:7 allows davening infront of uncovered hair because we are used to it so it does not affect us and therefore there is no hirhur, but the MB 75:10 argues on it because two wrongs don’t make a right.

Avi K, The Rambam you quoted above 1:3 says ולהוציאה שלא לצורך ולאבדה I don’t consider Talmud Torah spending without any purpose. If the yeshivas are not considerate what should he do? He can even borrow with ribus with a heter iska. This will not make him a rasha.

Avi K, You are putting things in my mouth that I never said. It does not say anywhere that you should not ask for a scholarship. You borrow what is necessary for tuition (see the gemora Betzeh 16a on the top of the page). You should try to lower the tuition as much as you can because you might not be worthy for more because of your sins.

    The Agudas’ statement:

AGUDATH ISRAEL ON IMMIGRATION FAMILY SEPARATION POLICY: US HAS “MORAL OBLIGATION” TO “EXHIBIT HUMANITY AND COMPASSION”
Agudath Israel of America expresses its very deep concern and disappointment over the recently adopted policy of separating the members of families who have entered the United States illegally. It is a practice that has caused, and will continue to cause, profound suffering and pain to both parents and children. We implore that the policy be immediately rescinded, and that affected families be reunited.

The problem of illegal immigration is a serious one, and we support reasonable efforts by the administration and legislature to effectively stem the flow of would-be immigrants who have not been accepted through the legal immigration system.

But the United States, a shining beacon of freedom in the world, must always exhibit humanity and compassion in its laws and policies. Seeking to enforce our statutes does not relieve us of this moral obligation. The extreme anguish, fear and trauma born of separating undocumented immigrant family members, which is particularly harmful to children, deeply offend our highest values. It is wrong and unjustifiable.

As Jews, we find this practice particularly loathsome. For millennia, Jews in the diaspora have suffered many forms of persecution, including — among the most tragic — the forced breakup of our families. It is a punishment that neither parents nor children should ever have to endure.

Avi K, You opened up an interesting discussion. From the Rambam above is no prove as he uses the expression borrowing for no need but here there is a need for shabbos. The Aruch Hashulchan answers a contradiction because it also says עשה שבתך חול ואל תצטרך לבריות make your shabbos like a week day and don’t rely on others. So he says if he does not have a means of support, he should not borrow. What about tuition? Can you borrow for it when you don’t have the means to repay it? The above is not said on it but is one of the things that is not pre-determined and you should borrow to be able to pay it.

The total money spent is being determined not individual items. You can buy something else for the difference or give it to tzedaka.

How can the Parah Adumah be both tohar and tumah? The Klei Yokor uses the scientific rule opposites react. The Parah Adumah is made up of two parts, the water and the ground. The water is tahor whereas the ground is tamei. When you put it on a tumah person, there is no effect from the ground only from the water making him tahor, on the hand when you put it on a tahor person, there is no effect from the water but only from the ground, making him tumah.

I left Hungary in the1956 revolution. We snuck through the border as a child to Austria avoiding search lights. I can’t imagine how my parents would have felt if we were separated. We spent two and half years in a displacement camp. Let Trump do the same thing keeping families together in a displacement camp waiting to be evaluated to come here.

Rashi says that Korach was carrying the holy ark, what does he want to tell us by that? Korach claimed by birthright that the nisuis belongs to him because his father was older than Elitzofon’s father. if that is the case, he should not carry the holy ark since Gershom was older than Kehos. Therefore we go after merit and not birthright and his question is answered since Elitzofon can be more worthy than him.

If all are holy and heard on Har Sinai the Aseres Hadibros what makes Korach better? That is the point. Korach held that they all sinned by the Eigel includiing Aharon who contibuted to the sin, but Korach from Levi did not sin.

The 250 people put on a talis of all techeles, what was the purpose? The Ksav Sofer explains that ztitzis is a reminder of the mitzvos thereby a reminder of Hashem, which can be done without any techeles. Someone might need a picture to keep a person being missed infront of him because of his great love to satisfy their longing for him. Techeles is like a picture of kavayochel Hashem. They wore the talis of all techeles asking if it needs ztitzis to ascetain what Moshe Rabbenu thinks of them about their closeness to Hashem. When he said it still needs tzitzis, they got upset because they came to realize that Moshe Rabbenu believes that they are not close to Hashem.

What I said before is not correct. There is another level of sinas chinom where someone hates someone when he has a valid reason to hate him and does not tell the person about it but keeps the hatred bottled up in his heart. If he is a known rasha, you allowed to hate him so that you should not learn from him, אל תתחבר לרשע like it says don’t befriend a wicked person.

in reply to: No Sinas Chinom #1538148

The Torah is realistic. People tend to hate each other when they do bad to them. So the Torah says don’t hate him but tell him about it. If you don’t tell him about it, it is still asur to hate but not sinas chinom but hatred bottled up in the heart. If you will not tell him about it because it is not a valid reason to hate him, you will have sinas chinom which will fester forever. If a person is a known rasha, you allowed to hate him so not to learn from him.

in reply to: No Sinas Chinom #1538131

Sinas Chinom is futile hatred with no benefit because the person hated will not change his ways causing hatred forever.

Since it is important I will quote the Rashbam -If he does bad to you, don’t get to hate him (talk to him with nice words and in your heart plan against him) but admonish him for the bad deeds he has done to you which will eventually lead to peace. Says the Yad Joseph above that this only works for excusable hatred for offenses normally being hated for but for others he will not tell the hated individual because he has no valid reason to hate him, so he will keep his hatred bottled up in his heart causing sinas chinom.
