Reb EliezerParticipant
Moshe Rabbeinu asked to enter Eretz Yisroel even though their was an oath on it to show how sweet and desirous he considers Eretz Yisroel to be able to do mitzvos.
Reb EliezerParticipantפנו לכם צפונה teaches the Klei Yakar that in galus we should act hiddenly among the umas haalom not to build fancy houses and anger them through their jelousy. Also not to forget that we are galus and forget that we are strangers in a strange land.
Reb EliezerParticipantMy post 1537179 about Jehoshia comes from the sefer Peninim Yekorim in Parshas Shelach on the pasuk.
Reb EliezerParticipantThe gedolim attribute the holocaust to Tisha B’av. If we were not exiled from our land, there would not have been a holocaust.
Reb EliezerParticipantThe reason we need hishtadlus is that the barocho of parnosoh can not apply to nothing.
Reb EliezerParticipantIt is known the famous Rambam in Hilchas Talmud Torah 3:10 כל המשים על עצמו about sitting and learning and relying on support.
Reb EliezerParticipantChadGadya, I did not say don’t eat meat. I said don’t eat beef which is hard to digest.
Reb EliezerParticipantIt depends what you eat. It is more important to watch what you eat before and after to minimize the symptoms.
Reb EliezerParticipantDon’t eat any beef not before or after a fast. Don’t eat any fish before which will make you thirsty. For Tisha B’av we make a layered with eggs potato dish.
July 24, 2018 4:47 pm at 4:47 pm in reply to: Does the name “Lashon haKodesh” imply that it is the only holy language? #1563909Reb EliezerParticipantThe number 2658 is not the significance but the fact they both add up to the same gematria which reveals to you how to calculate the molad. What are the chances of that? It is a hint that our calculation is correct.
July 24, 2018 4:24 pm at 4:24 pm in reply to: Does the name “Lashon haKodesh” imply that it is the only holy language? #1563896Reb EliezerParticipantThank you apushata yid, which you are not, for pointing out the Ramban Shmos 30:13 quoting the Rambam which I heard about but never saw inside.
July 24, 2018 3:35 pm at 3:35 pm in reply to: Does the name “Lashon haKodesh” imply that it is the only holy language? #1563883Reb EliezerParticipantAbout mixing aramaic with lashon hakodesh see Rabbenu Bechaya in
Devorim 33:25 דבאך.July 24, 2018 3:35 pm at 3:35 pm in reply to: Does the name “Lashon haKodesh” imply that it is the only holy language? #1563886Reb EliezerParticipantLook at Yosef when he said כי פי המדבר אליכם in lashon hakodesh where even Pharaoh could not speak.
July 24, 2018 2:47 pm at 2:47 pm in reply to: Does the name “Lashon haKodesh” imply that it is the only holy language? #1563806Reb EliezerParticipantI will demontrate why it is called lashon hakodesh take
החדש הזה לכם ראש חדשים ראשון הוא לכם לחדשי השנה adds up to 2658 just as
כמה תשעה ועשרים ומחצה יום ותשצג חלקים indicating the time of the molad (from one lunar renewal to the next)
how many 29 1/2 days and 793 chalokim where chelek = 1/1080th of an hour.July 24, 2018 1:33 pm at 1:33 pm in reply to: Does the name “Lashon haKodesh” imply that it is the only holy language? #1563784Reb EliezerParticipantThe mishneh starts מאימתי which is targum because in loshan hakodesh should have been ממתי teaching us that it starts in a language that the malochim don’t understand or care about and Hashem is with us when we learn.
July 24, 2018 12:44 pm at 12:44 pm in reply to: Does the name “Lashon haKodesh” imply that it is the only holy language? #1563771Reb EliezerParticipantIt is holy because there are no dirty words e.g. ביאה and it has hidden meanings same as איבה.
July 24, 2018 12:21 pm at 12:21 pm in reply to: Can One Ride in a Self-Driving Car on Shabbos #1563756Reb EliezerParticipantThe Chasam Sofer says that we can’t ride a steam boat because it eliminates the mitzva of shabbosan.
Reb EliezerParticipantAs a historical note the discontinuation of wearing hats came with the arrival of President Kennedy. Cristziansich Yudensich. We follow the umas haolom.
Reb EliezerParticipantIt is called loshan hakodesh because it has no dirty words.
Reb EliezerParticipantThat the Lubavitcher Rebbe will be Moshiach is only according to Hillel whose view is that techiyas hamesim will coincide with the comming of the Moshiach, otherwise there will be forty years in between.
Reb EliezerParticipantThe MB 91:12 mentioned above says כובע בראשו כדרך שהולך ברחוב. He should put a hat on by davenen the way he walks on the street. We see they wore hats on the street.
Reb EliezerParticipantDavid Hamelech says אבן מאסו הבונים היתה לראש פנה the rock that the builders despised was placed at the head corner.
July 23, 2018 4:58 pm at 4:58 pm in reply to: Terribly Missing the Gedolei Europe who built Torah Yiddishkeit in America #1563340Reb EliezerParticipantEvery generation have their own gedolim הכהן אשר יהי’ בימים ההם, יפתח בדורו כשמואל בדורו.
Reb EliezerParticipantThere are two ways to judge an individual with mercy or judgment. He could be judged what he is responsible as a human being or what he is responsible towards Hashem. When a person has gayva, he will be judged on a higher level through judgement, what he is responsible to Hashem.
Reb EliezerParticipantAre you talking of Hilel’s view that means that there will not be 40 years between the comming of Moshiach and techiyas hamesim, see the Abarbanel on Moshiach. It could be someone alive will be Moshiach as the gemora questions it, but there is no view that the Moshiach will return a second time.
Reb EliezerParticipantThis has caused that people don’t daven with a hat and a jacket because they daven like they go on the street, see MB O”CH 91:12.
Reb EliezerParticipantFor sinas chinom, look up the Rashbam, Ramban on לא תשנא את אחיך בלבבך do not keep your hatred bottled up in your heart but admonish him about it. See also the Yad Yosef on the Ein Yaakov Yoma 9. According to this there are two causes 1) not admonishing, telling him why you hate him 2) hating for an inexcusable reason where your reason for hatred is not an acceptable reason so you act like friend and keep the hatred fester in your heart.
Reb EliezerParticipantIt says היום אם בקולו תשמעו, it can be today, if we listen to him.
Reb EliezerParticipantThe answer might lie in our current parsha Voeschanan Devorim 4:29 ובקשתם את ה’ אלקיך ומצאת כי תדרשנו בכל לבבך ובכל נפשך you will seek Hashem your G-d and find him because you will look for him with your whole heart and soul. This we should remember in galus and Moshiach will come.
July 22, 2018 3:58 pm at 3:58 pm in reply to: Relating the Tisha B’av message from Hashem in Today’s generation #1562679Reb EliezerParticipantIt says כל המתאבל על ירושלים זוכה ורואה בשמחתה whoever mourns Jerusalem will see its rejoycing. Explains the Chasam Sofer that he shows that the loss is not dead which is forgotten but it is still alive. He can actually see the redemption and thereby be happy in its consolation.
Reb EliezerParticipantLook at the Klei Yokor in Parshas Devorim on פנו לכם צפונה, be hidden in galus. Do not forget that we are in galus by showing off through building fancy houses. If we forget, Hashem keeps out there.
Reb EliezerParticipantMeat is not eaten still Sunday night but can be eaten Monday so the mourning period ends the first thing Monday morning.
Reb EliezerParticipantPublicly we don’t differentiate in order not to take it lightly.
Reb EliezerParticipantWhat about maris ayin?
Reb EliezerParticipantEmphasize the importance of Tefila at least once a day. Point out whom and what to daven for, so tefila will not be a burden.
Reb EliezerParticipantMy Rebbe thought me that צלם אלקים indicates not to go to a goyishe barber.
Reb EliezerParticipantThe Chasam Sofer says there אין לי עסק בנסתרות. Some were a jacket buttoning on the right in order to place the right on the left.
Reb EliezerParticipantSee Chasam Soder O”CH 159 says there is nothing wrong in shaving.
The proof might be from the mishneh ואלו מגלחין במועד.Reb EliezerParticipantSQRT2 – According to the Tiferes Yisroel, Moshe Rabbeinu was destined to be great. So he had a great yetzer hora and thereby having a hechere neshama and which increased his drive/ability to fight it.
Reb EliezerParticipantOn Pinchos Rashi says בדין הוא שיטל שכרו he deserves his just rewards. Why?
The Dubner Magid has a parable where A wholesaler hires a young man on a no salary basis just room and board. A retail person comes wanting to be served. The wholesaler sends him away telling him that we are in the middle of our Purim seuda and to come tomorrow. The young man volunteers to serve him. They make a lot of money due this transaction. The wholesaler asks the young man what he ows him. Didn’t we agree that I don’t get any salary compensation? The wholesaler tells him that since he sacrifies his food, room and board for his business, he showed that the business is more important than the compensation of room and board he is getting he wants to give him some compensation he will appreciate. Similarly, we can’t give enough thanks to Hashem for his benevolence for living healthily without any concerns but Pinchos sacrificed his life in His service, so he deserves a reward that is worthy to him.July 5, 2018 2:23 pm at 2:23 pm in reply to: Why does the Yeshiva World constantly post anti Trump articles #1552962Reb EliezerParticipantExtremes are no good.
Reb EliezerParticipantIsn’t that the same as Bobov?
Reb EliezerParticipantThere are other sects within sanz headed by the Divrei Chaim, Klausenburg , Shinev and Bobov.
Reb EliezerParticipantDavening only applies if they are a תנוק שנשבה, captured in their youth coming from a reformed family. My mother came from such a family and my father changed her becoming G-d fearing and G-d trusting.
Reb EliezerParticipantMaybe we have a responsibility to daven for them to see the light אתה חונן לאדם דעת.
Reb EliezerParticipantSRQT2 – Look at the Tiferes Yisroel at the end of Maseches Kidushin about the story of the painter. I don’t know what Reb Moshe means. The only thing I can tell you כל הגדול מחבירו יצרו גדול ממנו. It says by Yosef ויהי כדברה אליו יום יום ולא שמע אליה the more Aishes Potifar talked to convince him, the more he did not listen to her. The Chasan Sofer explains that the yetzer hora operates similarly. Since he has nothing good to sell so he has to talk a lot to convince someone to follow him, whereas the yetzer tov has good merchandise so he does not talk a lot.
July 3, 2018 9:34 pm at 9:34 pm in reply to: Davening via the Mamme Rochel vs via a Tzaddik #1551884Reb EliezerParticipantLook at Rashi Bereshis 48:7 on ואני בבאי מפדן where Rachel will get up from her grave to pray for us
July 3, 2018 7:05 pm at 7:05 pm in reply to: Davening via the Mamme Rochel vs via a Tzaddik #1551867Reb EliezerParticipantWhat I said is incorrect. Look at gemora Sotah 34b rather than pray, he asked the avos to intevene in his behalf.
July 3, 2018 6:30 pm at 6:30 pm in reply to: Davening via the Mamme Rochel vs via a Tzaddik #1551859Reb EliezerParticipantPray to the Hashem to have the avos intervene in his behalf giving Kalev resistance not to be influenced using their zechusim.
Reb EliezerParticipantMy daughter studied in Israel for a year. Girls over here were a uniform except Rosh Chodesh, Shabbos and Yom Tov.
