Reb EliezerParticipant
Joseph, There is a restaurant in Boro Park called Mc Fleishig and no one has any problems with it.
Reb EliezerParticipantWe also find that Rachel died on the way that when Nevizradon will exile the Jews they will go to her grave and pray. Rachel will pray for them and she will be answered that you will be rewarded for your actions and your children will be returned to their borders.
Reb EliezerParticipantJoseph, why not, if it has a proper hashgacha?
Reb EliezerParticipantSearch ‘vaccination’ on this web web site the most recent:
Reb EliezerParticipantWe are doche shabbos for safek pikuach nefesh. Whoever resists vaccination might be ovar on ושמרתם את נפשותיכם protect your body and soul.
Reb EliezerParticipantAutism is not as bad as the illnesses one can acquire without it.
August 24, 2018 12:50 pm at 12:50 pm in reply to: If a pig was genetically modified to chew its cud, would it be kosher? #1579703Reb EliezerParticipantLanderTalmid, I think it will be a new creation which will chew its cud as it needs multiple stomachs as mentioned above.
Reb EliezerParticipantIf is a rasha lehachis, you will not be convince him just make him worse whichever way, if is doing well, he will say I am being rewarded, so I must be doing something right. and If is doing badly, he will say, G-d does not care about me, or there is ch’v no G-d.
Reb EliezerParticipantThe gemora Berochos 7:1 says that a צדיק גמור a pious person with no sins will be fully rewarded this world and next world, whereas a רשע גמור a wicked person with nothing good will be punished in this world and next world. It you only see the reward and punishment in this world than you might forget about the next world to come. The Ramban in Parshas Acharei says that it matters what your intentions are in doing mitzvos. If you do it for this world’s reward, so will you be rewarded in this world and if you do it for next world’s reward, you will be rewarded in the next world.
Reb EliezerParticipantHow is it צדיק ורע לו a pious person and bad is happening to him, whereas רשע וטוב לו a wicked and good is hapenning to him? If a pious person does some bad, he gets punished on this world for it, whereas the wicked get rewarded in this world. Recognize that the wicked get rewarded for their demise because they think everything is fine and will not repent.
August 22, 2018 4:11 pm at 4:11 pm in reply to: Halachic question regarding bal tashchis and tza’ar baalei chayim #1578876Reb EliezerParticipantTo neuter and animal, I think is not because of tzaar baal chaim but because of destroying the species. To declaw cat you are eliminating its means of protection.
Reb EliezerParticipantThey upgrade technology above as we upgrade technology below, VHS is old technology.
Reb EliezerParticipantHow many computer programmers do you need to change a light bulb?
None, it is a hardware problem.Reb EliezerParticipantyitzyk, they play a DVD above which is being recorded with our actions below.
August 21, 2018 4:35 pm at 4:35 pm in reply to: Halachic question regarding bal tashchis and tza’ar baalei chayim #1578438Reb EliezerParticipantYes, provided your gain is greater than your loss.
Reb EliezerParticipantMoshe1994, People don’t worship the pictures but seeing him encourages them to follow his ways and thereby be helped.
Reb EliezerParticipantMy rebbi has a painting of his grandfather in his house. It also includes that by a shiur you should see your rebbi.
Reb EliezerParticipantSome people keep a picture of their rebbi based on the pasuk
והיו עינך ראות את מראיך keep your teacher infront of you all the time. So if you care about your rebbi, he will protect you.Reb EliezerParticipantSomething from Ben Ish Chai it says ויחן שם ישראל נגד ההר the Jews rested around the mountain. If you take the letters around הר before and after we get before ‘ד’ , ‘ק’ and after ‘ו’, ‘ש’ making together the word ‘קדוש’. unity brings to holiness and then replace ‘ק’, ‘ש’ with two ‘ר’ gives us the word ‘דרור’ indicating that holiness brings to freedom, the redemption.
Reb EliezerParticipantSomething from Rav Yanoson Steiff zt”l zy”a the story abount the convert who wanted to learn the whole Torah on one leg. What were the two legs? בין אדם לחבירו mitzvos that apply among each other and בין אדם למקום mitzvos that apply between us and Hashem. He only wanted to accept the mitzvos that apply among his fellow men which alone is not sufficiient according to Shamai is insufficient. Whereas, Hilel held that includes everything.
Reb EliezerParticipantRav Yanoson zt’l writes that maariv on Friday night is biblical since there is no left over sacrifice done on shabbos.
Reb EliezerParticipantRav Yanoson Steif zt’l zy”a 60th Yohr Tzeit, see the thread with the this name with a miraculous story.
Reb EliezerParticipantPeople use an image of the Kerestirer Rav Sheile Steiner zt”l to protect themselves from mice.
August 19, 2018 2:06 pm at 2:06 pm in reply to: Commemorating the 60th Yohr Tzeit of Rav Yonasan Steiff Zt”l #1576546Reb EliezerParticipantThe story above is mentioned in many places just that it does not say that he became a lepper only that he developed a swelling on his hand that released puss which was considered contagious.
August 17, 2018 6:40 pm at 6:40 pm in reply to: Repubs and Cons, Please explain your Ideology #1576240Reb EliezerParticipantmentsch1 – Your Republican principles are, don’t give charity because he will not try to find work and help himself, if he really needs it, let others do it. If you give charity, better be a big tax deduction. Just help yourself and don’t care about others.
Reb EliezerParticipantJoseph, sorry but I think you don’t know how to learn pshat in this mishna.
Look at Rashi and the Rambam who say that it does not say that you must be poor to learn Torah, but if you are poor, you should also learn Torah. This is like the story with the Levushei Mordechai who was asked if a woman giving birth can anastisize herself because it says you will give birth in pain. He said that it says והיית משוגע does not mean that there is a mitzva to be a meshigener. Some also say that in his beginning of learning years, he should avoid any extra luxuries.Reb EliezerParticipantDovidBT, The yeshiva can set up a curriculum of study.
Reb EliezerParticipantI took biology we skipped reproduction and evolution.
Reb EliezerParticipantJoseph, be realistic. Don’t compare those times with current times. It says
הכהן אשר יהי’ בימים ההם the kohen who serves in that time. The Haflah says in sefer Panim Yafos that you cannot question from one time to another.
We currently compete with the Joneses.Reb EliezerParticipantשופטים ושוטרים תתן לך בכל שעריך the Shlah Hakodash says that we should protect all of our opennings e.g. mouth and ears not to say or listen to bad things.
,
Reb EliezerParticipantThey can have self education and take the GED like the GRA who wrote the sefer Ayil Meshulash teaching himself.
Reb EliezerParticipantIt is the responsibility of the father to teach his son a profession, but the Rambam was a doctor who could set his own hours.
Reb EliezerParticipantWhy does the Mishna say that we need a profession and not sit and learn?
Reb EliezerParticipantIf the children will have to rely on welfare, the parents don’t have a right.
Remember the famous Rambam מי שמשים על עצמו לעסוק בדברי תורה ומתפרנס מן הצדקה הרי גוזל את הבריות.Reb EliezerParticipantThe problem is that they are not all suited to sit and learn and they can’t find a well paying job because of their lack of education.
Reb EliezerParticipantA friend, whose name is Sheye said that it is good that his father did not call him also Getzel because than he would have been called Sheygetzel.
August 16, 2018 12:16 pm at 12:16 pm in reply to: Dems and Libs, Please explain your Ideology #1575146Reb EliezerParticipantProviding higher education, housing, skill training for jobs available, and health care for those who cannot afford it. Making sure that people can support themselves and make a living.
August 16, 2018 11:46 am at 11:46 am in reply to: Dems and Libs, Please explain your Ideology #1575122Reb EliezerParticipantCaring for workers underpaid, and caring for the poor not skilled in the jobs available, as in time of the gemora where people where supported from the tamche. Fighting against discrimination which protects the Jews from the same.
August 16, 2018 10:33 am at 10:33 am in reply to: Rav Chaim: A Nebach Apikorus is also an Apikorus #1575011Reb EliezerParticipantThe R’ Abarbanel on Moshiach says about Hilel not that he arrived already, but the forty years in between his coming and techiyas hamesim has been used up so one will come after another.
Reb EliezerParticipantEclipse is considered the sun or the moon is hit, so there is no brocho.
Reb EliezerParticipantKavono by tefilah is discussed in S”A O”CH 98:2.
Reb EliezerParticipantWhat is this about yibbum, when currently there is no yibbum but chalitza?
Reb EliezerParticipantThere is a difference between מומר לתאבון an otd from desire and מומר להכעיס and an otd to anger. An otd to anger passes his non-beliefs to his children whereas an otd from desire will not. An otd from desire will repent when the age of desire is gone, whereas the otd to anger will never repent. I would say that otd to anger will be a מסית ומדיח, someone who makes others sin, and can be called Ym”s.
August 15, 2018 12:17 am at 12:17 am in reply to: Commemorating the 60th Yohr Tzeit of Rav Yonasan Steiff Zt”l #1574265Reb EliezerParticipantMentioned in the above biography is a story about a young man who was called to serve in the army. He went to Rav Yonasan zt”l who give him an incantation to say before he saw the doctor. When he said , the goats in the slaughter house are fatter than me (Tractate Megilla), he became a lepper, so the doctor through him out in order not to get infected. When he left and went out to the steet, it disappeared.
Reb EliezerParticipantI think the prayer we say don’t bring me to temptation and don’t bring me to shame. We can interpret this that if you bring me to temptation, you will bring me to shame.
Reb EliezerParticipantRevealing a secret is lashan hara. A kohen was killed when he revealed to his friend that the floor was not level in the Beis Hamikdash and the holy ark was hidden there.
Reb EliezerParticipantThere is a pasuk in Mishlei 11: 13 הולך רכיל מגלה סוד one goes and gossips by revealing secrets.
August 14, 2018 1:08 pm at 1:08 pm in reply to: Commemorating the 60th Yohr Tzeit of Rav Yonasan Steiff Zt”l #1573355Reb EliezerParticipantIt will be Monday Tes, Elul – August 20.
August 14, 2018 12:44 pm at 12:44 pm in reply to: Commemorating the 60th Yohr Tzeit of Rav Yonasan Steiff Zt”l #1573310Reb EliezerParticipantHis name is only spelled with one ‘f’.
Reb EliezerParticipantThe Torah gives us in Parshas R’eh a means of how to diet. When a person wants to eat, he should eat at the time when he can control himself. Eat when you are hungry as long you are hungry. It says
Devorim 12:20 ואמרת אכלה בשר explains the Chasam Sofer you should be able to say that you want to eat meat כי תתאוה נפשך לאכל בשר because when you desire to eat meat, בכל אוות נפשך תאכל בשר with all your desire you will eat meat, you will not be able to control yourself. -
