coffee adict, the Sefer Hachinuch says that whoever prays to Hashem, have mercy on me like you have mercy on the bird, we quite him down because he makes Hashem’s commandments humanly with feelings. If this was the case, shechita would not be allowed.

There are two times that the redemption can come, if it comes the fixed time, then we must have a king as harsh as Haman to force us into teshuva whereas if we want the redemption earlier, then we have to yearn for it with a full heart by making teshuva from love by most of the Bnei Yisroel as stated in the Sefer Beis Elokim from the Mabit. This is what we say maybe in the Mi Sheberach, healing of the spirit, teshuva, or healing of the body by forcing it into teshuva.

David Hamelech davens מאין יבא עזרי – as we find עזר כנגדו will she be earthly (knowing how to deal with people) or heavenly (how to behave towards Hashem) עזרי מעם ה’ עושה שמים וארץ if she is G-d sent. she can be both heavenly and earthly.

עולם כמנהגו נוהג sometimes we are not worthy of miracles of being saved. סכנה חמורי מאיסורי a danger requires more stringency than an issur. Hashem creates the refuah before the makah because once the makah comes, we might not be worthy to be saved. לעולם יתפלל אדם שלא יחלה a person should daven not to become sick because he might not be worthy to be healed.

The president says, guns don’t kill, people kill. They both do as the guf and neshomo don’t sin individually, so they are punished together as the stealing from the fruit tree where the blind holds the lame are punished together.

In order to arrive to the truth in learning you have to listen to opposite views as the Beis Hilel listened to the Beis Shamai first because of their humility. Trump fires his adversaries, so he ends up with tunnel vision. Rebbi Yochanan missed Rash Lokish because he asked kashyes on his statement which created רווחא דשמעתתא expansion of our understanding.

If there is no difference in halacha, some fun can be made. What sweetens the tea, sugar or mixing? The answer is mixing and sugar is required to know how long to mix.

It is important that a Brisker Chakira should make a difference in halacha not just the Rambam whom we don’t always follow. An example is the meaning of שומע כעונה. If it means that ir makes you speak, the problem is , how can you be yotze megilla when you don’t have one personally? We must say that your speaking from the mouth of the baal koreh who has a megilla, so you don’t need one yourself. They say that the kohen can be motzei another kohen in duchenen but he must also raise his hands. Raising the hands is a physical part of the mitzva whereas holding a kos is not. So you don’t need a kos to be yotze kiddush from someone else.

There are two kinds of learning styles. bekios and pilpul. It is not a good idea to “kvetch on a blat’, but ‘fuhren’ or traveling is not good either. Look at the Sefer תנו כבוד לתורה from RAV Shimon Furst z’l and Rav Noach Isaac Oelbaum Shlita on his hakdomas complaining that halacha considerations in learning are being side stepped. Look at the Sefer חדשים גם ישנים from Rav Yonasan Steif ztz’l where he balances both. The Rif, Rosh and Rambam should be emphasized in learning because they are the עמודי הוראה. The Mechaber follows their majority in psak.

Women don’t say שעשני אשה because men have more mitzvos than women. They say in the positive because by women it was beneficial for them to be created, whereas by men נח לו לאדם שנברא משלא נברא would have been easier to be born than not to be born. Explains the Meharsha that we would have accomplished more by not being created than being created since there are 365 negative commandments and only 248 positive commandments. Once we were created יפשפש במעשיו, he should scrutinize his actions, through teshuva meahavah where averos turn into mitzvos gaining another 365 positive commandments to 613 or ימשמש במעשיו accentuate his actions, ,through kavono in mitzvos doubling the amount of positive commandments to 496.
