Jackk there were Jews who were very instrumental in bringing in bolshevism and shutting down yeshivas across Europe. There were Jews who were willing informants for the church. There are self-hating Jews in high power positions in every generation who do have control.
lakewhutParticipantIs a person who is registered in BMG but learns once a week more of a Torah Jew than a working guy who learns every day?
lakewhutParticipantAvirah a Jew who never puts on tefilin in his life is a karkafta. While he might not have the right daas or do the mitzvah properly it’s better than no tefilin ever. How many people do the the Lakewood establishment yeshivas reach from the outside and make them religious?
lakewhutParticipantUJM BJX has helped many people become frum. For many, it starts at seeing what a shabbos table looks like.
lakewhutParticipantSome of the “issues” that Democrats make up shouldn’t be mainstream issues. Democrats support every abomination. They push being trans as mainstream. They think it’s a good idea to have draq Queens at schools. The Democrat way of everything is make more legislation thus creating new problems.
lakewhutParticipantHuju do you know what property and payroll taxes are?
lakewhutParticipantHuju I don’t support that because that reduces incentives for businesses to invest in capital. Europe is about to be out of energy due to their stagnating socialist policy.
lakewhutParticipantJackk the Democrat communist hackk is there a Democrat position you won’t defend?
lakewhutParticipantjackk why are you so happy? Ukrainians were some of the worst guards in the death camps
lakewhutParticipantAbrams is a BLM communist RE why are you giving her the benefit of the doubt
lakewhutParticipantWhat about desantis? He’s pretty popular and propped up by Trump
lakewhutParticipantWhy does a stroked out unemployed grifter make a senator?
lakewhutParticipantNo it hasn’t happened this slowly in the past. The races were confirmed on election night for the most part. The FBI is run by deep state Democrat operatives of course they won’t look into it.
lakewhutParticipantDemocrats thought 2000 and 2016 were rigged. We’re in the now.
lakewhutParticipantThis 3 day lag leads to a lot of questions. Haven’t you dealt with incompetent people at various bureaucracies?
lakewhutParticipantHow are we still having so many races undecided? It’s not logical to believe that they’re counting ballots that are being misdated. If the elections aren’t being outright stolen by Democrats, there’s room for distrust in the system. It should be a law for the sake of real democracy and trust in our system that ballots not coming in by mail on election day shouldn’t be counted.
lakewhutParticipantNo I don’t think the narrative that everyone in the shtetl was learning in kollel is living in reality. We’re supposed to learn from the flaws of previous generations, so as not to repeat their mistakes.
lakewhutParticipantjackk and it outweighs everything
lakewhutParticipantSometimes a new baal tefilah is called to say yishtabach
lakewhutParticipantRegarding Rambam and Yemen, it’s on Google if you take some effort. I don’t know everything about Iraqi rabbis though they had a community from after 1st bet hamikdash through about WWI.
lakewhutParticipantUJM not every tzaddik in the old yishuv was grabbing media headlines.
October 28, 2022 4:09 pm at 4:09 pm in reply to: The State of Israel Formed on the Basis of Keeping the Torah #2133337lakewhutParticipant@lakewhut “And had more people moved to EY earlier more would have survived the Churban Europe.”
Instead they would have been shected on the street on the streetsin Chevron [1929], Jerusalem and HifaEretz Yisroel is acquired with suffering. Its not close to going through the USSR and Nazi Germany.
October 27, 2022 11:32 pm at 11:32 pm in reply to: The State of Israel Formed on the Basis of Keeping the Torah #2133213lakewhutParticipantThe Goyim also swore to be peaceful to us. We’re allowed to defend ourselves. And no shtetls aren’t a mandated golus. It’s an old system where the Royals and nobles own the property and say where Jews are allowed to live. And had more people moved to EY earlier more would have survived the Churban Europe.
lakewhutParticipantMaybe that’s part of the program.
lakewhutParticipantThe idea is to help people who have urges but don’t actually violate chyvie krisos.
lakewhutParticipantWell for one there won’t be cashless bail that when someone gets stabbed on the train the criminal won’t be released into the streets that day. That’s one for sure. The police will be allowed to do their jobs.
lakewhutParticipantUsually, abuse is learned behavior from someone a person trusts e.g. family member, rebbi but they know it’s wrong and such a thing is unhealthy to the development of a person. Anxiety develops as a result and can affect many different aspects of a person’s life.
October 25, 2022 7:13 pm at 7:13 pm in reply to: Is YU officially a modern-Orthodox institution? #2132436lakewhutParticipantExactly anon. Those who are struggling with certain things in yeshivish circles, if they don’t get help, they go off.
lakewhutParticipantEven among the amei haaretz, they were still traditional
lakewhutParticipantAvirah Brooklyn is safe because of his jdl efforts. His views were right. Even Rabbi Miller who you follow supported him.
October 25, 2022 4:24 pm at 4:24 pm in reply to: condemning a candidate due to sickness or old age. #2132374lakewhutParticipantWhen Reagan was running thats what the Democrats ran on in 84, questioning his age.
October 25, 2022 4:24 pm at 4:24 pm in reply to: condemning a candidate due to sickness or old age. #2132372lakewhutParticipantA stroke and senility are not what you want from a senator or president. Both clearly can’t complete a sentence in public without a script.
lakewhutParticipantRav Meir Kahane saw the truth with everything wrong in America
October 24, 2022 11:26 pm at 11:26 pm in reply to: Is YU officially a modern-Orthodox institution? #2132223lakewhutParticipantMany rabbonim in shuls across America have Semicha from RIETS.
lakewhutParticipantSo you’ll vote for a communist who is making the state unsafe and wants to impose on yeshivas that they should teach things that are antithetical to Judaism instead?
October 24, 2022 12:03 am at 12:03 am in reply to: Bnei Brak Kollel guy gives up multiple million Euro inheritance b/c of SHABBOS #2131914lakewhutParticipantMaybe the money was made illegitimately in other ways. Noticr they don’t say which daas Torah advised him. Many yeshivas and other Frum Jewish causes took donations from mechalelei shabbos.
October 21, 2022 9:44 am at 9:44 am in reply to: Ripping the letters on heimish candy on Shabbos #2131471lakewhutParticipantWhat about all the heimish papers that they know most of the readership will read on shabbos but shouldn’t read advertisements or business strategies on Shabbos.
lakewhutParticipantOften the parents corrupt enough. A curious enough kid will go to the library.
lakewhutParticipantLet’s not make it that VH5T is the gold standard and RCBC is treif.
lakewhutParticipantIt’s growing in popularity because the old school kvetch isn’t connecting to some people. You need to ask why the old school litvish style davening isn’t inspiring people as it used to.
lakewhutParticipantWhat’s middle of the road, hiring trabs health secretaries abs giving the taliban all our weapons?
August 29, 2022 10:47 am at 10:47 am in reply to: School District Bringing Back Spanking Unruly Students. what are your thoughts #2119434lakewhutParticipantIt’s not the way today
lakewhutParticipantAAQ FDU and Post take some yeshiva credits for an accelerated degree.
lakewhutParticipantiamhappy while it’s possible to get into corporate America with a btl the likelihood that you’ll get an interview let alone the job without connections snd prior relevant work experience is not high. It is possible to get into a good firm with a btl, if you happen to want to go into law.
lakewhutParticipantdovrosenbaum
Without AARTS the degree isn’t recognized as an undergraduate degree.lakewhutParticipantAvirah I know psychology is a relatively new field in medicine but you’re out of your element in this topic and should stop talking. Would you go to R Malkiel Kotler to get surgery?
lakewhutParticipantIs it יוהרא for a Litvack to start wearing a gartel when litvish gedolim don’t hold its needed?
lakewhutParticipantIt doesn’t bother me I was asking if it’s proper.
lakewhutParticipantUJM there are people who were born litvish who decide to start to wear bekishes today. Meaning their parents are but now they connect with chasidus. Take a walk in Israel 3 LA and you’ll see people with American out of town accents like that.
lakewhutParticipantAnd only the litvish roshei yeshivas wear kapotas today. Though most lubavitch chasidim do.
