Why is it always assumed that if there is a woman who can’t get a get, her husband is at fault and she is an “agunah ”
Maybe she is actually a moredes and he has a right to divorce her without giving her anything but she won’t accept? Maybe he is a good person and she is a witch and walked out on him?
Why is the automatic assumption that he is a lowlife???????

Perhaps! “they” need to think multiple times before spending on this. But that is their job.
“we ” have no right to demand it of them.
(to put it in more stark terms, do you make sure to give every possible dollar that you can afford, to צדקה ? Or do you also have a discretionary spending budget for your wants that are not needs?
So they are blessed with wealth and therefore their discretionary budget is larger than yours. What’s the issue. It’s Not like they did anything wrong.)

but will for a long time will remember that bnei and bnos Torah are shaming the beauty of the Torah.
Because the non bnei and bnos Torah Are truly glorifying the Torah.
    And how pray tell?
By lobbing insults at those who learn Torah?
By…………………. I’m not going to go into the laundry list of public mocking of Torah rules and regulation (which In your worldview is the endgame of Torah fealty )

    Wonderful.
Some of us choose to focus on the beauty of the Torah and realize that humans are fallible and therefore try to forget or look away from others accidental failings , instead of looking down an entire segment of klal yisroel who choose to make Torah the primary ideal and goal in their life.

Those who think it’s all about laws. Do don’t…
No we have not “arrived ” when our children lose sight of the fact that Torah is something so much greater than them.
We have lost when the next generation thinks Torah is just a bunch of rules for life

    Why doesn’t Moshes this
    Why doesn’t moshes that

Moshes firstly has a fifty car valet parking lot
    Secondly
Why don’t shoppers just return the carts that they take
    It’s too hard?
Ask the store to send a worker to walk you to your car and pay an extra two bucks tip.
Stop making excuses for people’s stealing

Can’t return an air conditioner to Walmart (even though they technically allow it.)
Can’t have Someone else write your essay (even though the school is aware of it)
But somehow it’s OK to steal shopping wagons from a store that has multiple signs telling you it’s not OK and it’s the stores problem to figure it out?????? “?”

My favorite statement here is that Obama “accomplished his goal by passing a health care plan that is too popular to repeal ”
Guess what? That does not equate with being good.
If a president pushed Through a mandate/law/policy that have every citizen receives $100 a week.
It would be horrible policy. It would bankrupt the country but it would be way to popular to abolish.
Simply because there are way more takers than people willing to pay, In this country.
Yes his healthcare is popular. But it’s awful. For that alone he belongs on the list of worst presidents

Avi, sorry I totally lost you there
    I know Hebrew
    I know English
I know what it means to buy a field for פירות
    I never heard that word
    And by the way
If that were the only way to translate it, and nobody knows that word, it doesn’t help to say it in a different language That they don’t know. If they speak English and that’s the English for פירות and they don’t know that word, to keep calling it פירות does not make it any more understandable.

    Regardless.
    You are way off topic.
You asked what can be a rational for writing an essay for someone else
I am telling you that since it’s clear that it’s rampant and the school obviously doesn’t care , because they don’t even try to stop it, and the only reason to do it in the first place is because those same people who accept these obviously cheated essays asked for them, so that is tacit approval that you can do it. So what is wrong??

    As to Walmart
I said there may be plenty of good reasons you are not allowed to do it (my rav told me he holds it’s straight genaivah ) just saying that the argument that by returning it used after a summer downgrades it’s value and therefore you are stealing from Walmart, is factually incorrect.
It may be so that IF ultimately it is given to someone that entity receives less value, but they did not own it at the time you took it so you owe them nothing and Walmart, contrary to the opinions expressed here, does not put most of the returned items back on the shelf

OK I have many sources for what I hold.
    What’s worse?
    Depends on tons of factors
Starting point I think is there is no issur that I am aware of to sit near a woman (except ones wife in specific circumstances)
After that you start to get involved in
Enjoyment, and level of permissiblity of the woman in question.
Way too many variables to give a clear answer
Assuming there are no side female or relation issur going on it’s quite possible that it’s worse to fantasize which is basically the issue with sitting next to a woman than to actually do the act.
    Strange but possibly true

The value is lost the moment you open the box and perhaps even the moment you pay for the item.
(yes I know of a specific instance where someone realized after paying that they bought the wrong model, they went straight to return it. The clerk started to open the box. The person said “don’t open it. I just bought it a minute ago here’s my receipt. They said we need to check. They opened it took it all out then threw it into the returns with all the other used / unused /broken items)
So you take nothing from them by using the item. It’s the same to them if you return it sealed as if you return it used

Walmart dumps returned merchandise regardless of condition.
Once you open the box, and sometimes even if you didn’t,
The item never makes it back onto the shelf. It’s donated or more often thrown out.
So it’s hard to hear an issue based on loss of value to Walmart.
There may be other reasons why it’s forbidden but your going down the wrong path

Glat mart has bags of bones they used to give away for free but now charge either 1 or two dollars. I don’t remember.

Again to all those commenting about lack of variety, or what their recipe Calls for.
I was responding to someone who said it’s not possible to do it. I’m showing that it is possible. When someone has no money they don’t eat chicken during the week. They make soup with less vegetables than “your recipe ” calls for.

I said I spend much more I’m just saying it’s possible even kosher and In Brooklyn to feed a family of EIGHT people including adults where the food is always fresh and everyone is full and it’s less than 200$ a week.

First are you feeding a family of eight with six children or a family of 6 with 4 children? You post says both .

    “Family of six children”
“Why is $150 so hard to be true for a family of four children?”
um…. my numbers work for a family of 6 children so for sure they can work for a family with 4 children
(if you cant figure that out, then just cook for six and throw out the extra 2 portions)
didn’t think question was including non food
it wasn’t posed as total household budget

    No breakfast cereals allowed? correct

    Sugar, salt, spices? minimal daily

Cream cheese sandwiches and scrambled eggs for breakfast?no

    scrambled eggs for breakfast

    Cream cheese sandwiches for lunch
2 family packs of chicken bottoms yields 12 quarters – if it’s a family of six that’s two dinners. Last I looked there were 6 dinners in a week. Are you only serving pasta the other 4 nights with no protein (ie fish or meat?)
no. american cheese in the pasta. its called mac and cheese
    quite tasty really
1 pack of hot dogs (8 pack or 16 pack?)i think for 10$ you can get a 16 pack

when you say children do you mean toddlers, under 10 or teens? Do you know how much teen boys eat? a mix of ages like a regular family
    yes. some eat very little

(1 can for a family of 6?) yes plus eggs and dips . not everyone likes/eats tuna
nope. its a half a pound of cheap meat
pretty substantive in a 5 quart pot of cholent

As to your question how did the חכמים know עז is worse
I think you missed my point
They knew because their moral compass was pure.
That’s the same reason I’ve said all along they can tell you something is an exception
    My point from there is
Even knowing that עז is the worst, why should that NECESSITATE it having the more severe punishment?
If they are not correlated so why does it follow
Yet the Mishna is clear that once they knew it was worse, it automatically follows that it requires the more severe punishment. Ergo we can deduce backwards, if it has the more severe punishment it must be the worse sin
Are there sometimes mitigating or extenuating factors that skew this rubric?
    Sure
But we aren’t in a position to decide that because our moral compass has been compromised

Not sure what your whole post equals
If the student is not capable they will flunk
If the teacher round up (which many do) they will pass
If everyone is cheating their way through, then it’s a broken system and it’s stupid to keep it going that way. If a non participatory student who can’t answer a question in class is submitting a grade essays, and the teacher lets that through, it’s time for a new teacher.
I thought you were asking about entrance exam essays

Realize, it’s not like you have a possession, that if I take it I’m stealing. Here it’s arbitrary. If a school /teacher decides they want you to submit an essay, and they give it in a way that easily allows cheating, and they know it’s happening, and they accept it, then it’s not cheating!! They are in charge of creating the rules. If they allow it then it’s OK

That’s not really a response to what I said, but I’ll ask you this
When the school gives the students an assignment to be done in a language they neither speak nor understand, what do they really think is going on behind the scenes??
Or is your opinion that the teachers and principals of our children’s schools are so stupid that they never realized what I am saying?
    Again
When children too young to type are submitting typewritten assignments (sometimes mandated by the school) what do the teachers who are giving these children high marks for those assignments think took place.
    Don’t shoot the messenger.
I try to teach my children what is really important and correct.
