March 14, 2022 10:34 pm at 10:34 pm in reply to: Head of the Office of President of Ukraine praises Israel #2069258KGNParticipant
It’s not like every country in the world has taken a 1-side stance in every conflict with actual involvement.
Now, as a Ukrainian Jew, I am interested in the welfare of other Ukrainian Jews, but I am also interested in the safety of all Jews including those in Russia and Iran…But whether each person takes a “side” is not relevant.
But with all of this being said, Putin’s actions aren’t justified in this case, and the backfire against Russia is going to seriously affect them.
March 2, 2022 6:40 pm at 6:40 pm in reply to: Remember why Trump was impeached the first time? #2065708KGNParticipantTo OP, did you take into consideration that Russia didn’t bomb the Ukraine during the Trump era?
KGNParticipantI wouldn’t say that I am Pro-Ukraine or Pro-Russia but rather that I am Pro-Jewish.
There’s Jewish people having to flee various cities in the Ukraine. That is something we, as Jews, need to be concerned about.
KGNParticipantMy grandmother knows R” Bleich, so I would presume that his is legit.
KGNParticipantConservatives support Israel.
It doesn’t mean they specifically support Bibi.
IMHO, I am not a fan of Bibi or Bennet.
KGNParticipantThe word “Tsholent” is a Yiddish word derivived from French: Chaud Lent.
Chaud – Hot
Lent – SlowSo “Hamim” is accurate noun to describe it
(assuming that “Chaud” is the noun with “Lent” as an adjective).KGNParticipantSushi is good but not as filling as other fish choices because it’s mostly rice (carbs).
KGNParticipantActually, I re-call this being discussed during the Trump era.
It was on this very site.
KGNParticipantSaying the Shema in public is the literal sanctification of Hashem in public. This should fit ALL the criteria of a “Kiddush Hashem”.
KGNParticipantTo OP:
When you have a several different groups of people (all in large numbers) dressing a certain way, it becomes part of the culture.
December 9, 2021 1:37 pm at 1:37 pm in reply to: Knesset hears epidemic of racist Arab anti-Jewish attacks since Oct. #2039927KGNParticipantIt’s funny how the Medinah is scared of a disease which we HAVE treatment for yet is less concerned about terrorists blowing themselves up in the streets.
KGNParticipantThe US relationship with the other Allied Powers was more complicated. It’s not as simple as “The Nazis and Japanese are against everyone”.
KGNParticipantAnd you don’t just want to be married but STAY married.
KGNParticipantMy maternal grandmother still has the family name she was born with.
And here mother did the same thing too.
KGNParticipantI don’t know if the converts are fake but personally want my kids to marry someone born Jewish in order to avoid the ספק.
And @charliehall, that would actually be a good joke.
I think the author was actually talking about those legally identified as “Israeli” which would include those who move to Israel by just having a Jewish father. That could be a fair number of people. I would be less concerned about the fact that there are these types of people in Israel so long as they were more honest about it and perhaps even have a system that identifies them as separate from people who are Halachically Jewish.
KGNParticipantUse one of the out-door fields in/near Lakewood.
KGNParticipantTel Aviv has the potential for holiness, but if someone from Tel Aviv became Observant, he’d likely move elsewhere.
Tel Aviv isn’t the historically famous Paris, but it might be expensive because it’s safer than what Paris is today.
KGNParticipantRoe V. Wade was a case where Roe was told to lie about being forced to get pregnant (I’m being appropriate here). The actual person (Roe) regretted the whole court case later in life. The moral decline of America (in the area of taking a life) started because of dishonesty.
I can’t see how any Frum Yid could support the Pro-Abortion side of Roe V. Wade and all the issues it’s caused.
KGNParticipant“Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness”
-Life comes before the other two.
KGNParticipantיום כפורים
Both are spiritually uplifting holidays.
The emotional response should be the same.
The difference? One is more physical.
KGNParticipantI’m late on posting here.
YWN, back in 2018 posted this:
Israel: More Women Than Men Refuse Gitten, Shattering Stereotype
I may have not seen this thread when it was posted, but I was involved with a Beit Din case around this time. It turns out that the woman refused to show up in Beit Din and got her husband arrested. This PREVENTED him from giving a Get. Her motivation was that she hid a pregnancy from her husband and from the Beit Din. She gave birth to the kid before the session in Beit Din. She is the real Get refuser, but you don’t here the Feminists in ORA discussing such cases because it doesn’t fit with their Feminist agenda.
KGNParticipantOr go to Lakewood. We have tons more.
KGNParticipantTo OP
In Germany, it is.
KGNParticipantI don’t know the exact demographics of Lakewood to know if it’s 1/3 Khasidim.
I also don’t think it’s ideal to mention the girl’s parental income because then, you’re attracting guys who want the income and not the girl.
I won’t post any contact information on Shadkhanim, but there should be some good ones in Lakewood as well as Monsey.
KGNParticipant>Currently, in the Western world, formal, proper clothing is either black-white or elements of blue or dark-brown.
>In today’s world, Observant Jewish men are less expressive with clothing than their female counterparts. I guess some people are not raised to be expressive in this area of life.
>Khasidim are more into the exterior. It could also be that the people that are Litvak/Litvish got their color trends from the Khasidim.
December 6, 2020 12:55 pm at 12:55 pm in reply to: NWO, covid vaccines, and nanochip stupidity #1926234KGNParticipantThe opposition to the idea of evil people ruling the world is not exclusive to the Notzrim. The push for religious Jews to become secular is ages old. The push for ethnic equality is [also] ages old. The anti-chip and anti-vaccine ideaologies have to do with how some peopel interpret sceicne and less to do with the Notztrim.
KGNParticipantHe made the Republican Party better. It use to cater more towards Neocon, Libertarian, and Protestant Christian but now appeals to people who do not fall into any of those 3 categories. As a person who volunteered in the Trump promotion office, I saw people from different cultural backgrounds who felt incentivized to vote because of Donald Trump.
November 16, 2020 10:52 am at 10:52 am in reply to: Do American Jews care about Eretz Yisroel? #1920220KGNParticipantTo the original @techeles.
Moving to Canada isn’t a good idea for an American Jew unless he has a real reason too. There’s plenty of more Limud in Lakewood than Toronto. Many Torontons end up moving to Lakewood.
I do admit that American Jews don’t understand what it’s like to be a 2nd World country like Israel or let alone a conflict region since they are comfortable in a 1st World country. The same is true for Canadian Jews. Many Americans learn in Israel but then come back. I think someone should just find a place and stick to it.
@charliehall, in the time of Yithzak Rabin, there weren’t many advocates for an Arab State in Israel as there are today under the looney social justice warriors. So in today’s world, the card-carrying Right-Winger Netanyahu has had to at least claim to endorse some type of Arab state. It will be very strange to teach Israeli history…KGNParticipantBiden isn’t the worst, but given his current mental state, the people running the show might make it a bit harder. We really have no way of knowing.
KGNParticipant1. We do more testing than China.
2. China probably lies about their number.
2. We have more people than most countries in Europe. In fact, California has more people than Canada.
4. Controlling 4 million people in a country (like Norway) might be easier than controlling a country that has as many people as the USA.
5. Trump was called a “Racist” for blocking flights from China.
KGNParticipantWhy not be in America or Israel as opposed to both?
I plan to live in Israel, so I will be learning there before marriage. For someone who intends to live in America, then keep learning here.
KGNParticipantI think the crisis people have isn’t a crisis in shidduchim but a crisis in society as a whole. Whether it’s how people look at finance or how people look at relationships as a whole. Western society is decaying.
Want to know more idealistic solutions:
1. Not encourage women to pursue an education and instead, marry a man who has skills
2. Not frown upon someone who learns and works (which many of our sages did)P.S. Men tend to marry women their age or younger but rarely older.
KGNParticipantJoe is too dumb to remember his crimes.
November 8, 2020 8:06 pm at 8:06 pm in reply to: Do American Jews care about Eretz Yisroel? #1917942KGNParticipantI an moving to Israel regardless of who wins.
KGNParticipantThe above 28 year old is exactly what I was saying about kollel culture and wanting girls with rich parents. This is an upside down understanding of limud hatorah. Our sages learned without this “system”.
Also, I come from an environment were both men and women had to figure out their lives at a younger age. FFB communities with such a problem is a result of a failed culture. However, I don’t know if every community in the frum world is like this.
KGNParticipantAs a late 20’s single who is still in the פרשה of שידוכים, I can say the following:
1. I admit to have been more picky that needed.
2. I have been told that because of my B”T background, some parents were skeptical of me dating their daughters.
3. I was told that I’d find better learning and dating opportunities in Israel.
4. Paying for a dating site means nothing since you have no way of knowing if you’ll actually get anywhere. Having a resume/profile is good enough.
5. Some שדכנים don’t understand basic, human compatibility.
*Remember that it’s all from Hashem.
KGNParticipant1. Trump was the best for Israel.
2. Joe isn’t really mentally there, so his policies could be dictated by a secular, Left-Wing, San Fransicko nutcase who inter-married a non-observant Jew. That Yid doesn’t have a strong Jewish identity. The so-called “Jews” that will be in the Biden/Harris administration are likely to be relatively worse than their Trump/Pence counter-parts.
3. I would be less skeptical of the Biden/Harris administration if it did NOT overturn any of Trump’s policies that made it easier for Israel. For example, if they didn’t move the embassy to Tel Aviv or denounce the Golan, then I wouldn’t be as critical. However, Israel is also affected by other countries, and if they turn a blind-eye on Shia-Islamist Iran, that could be a problem for Israel as well. It would also be an issue for the Gulf Arab states too. It’s all a big chess game.
November 8, 2020 9:54 am at 9:54 am in reply to: State Legislatures Should Give Trump Reelection Win #1917747KGNParticipantTrump issued orders that fixed America more than Clinton, both Bushes, and Obama combined.
November 8, 2020 9:53 am at 9:53 am in reply to: Could someone explain it to a non American please…? #1917746KGNParticipantThe media is corrupt, the Democrats are corrupt, and the political establishment is VERY corrupt.
KGNParticipantBill didn’t steal the election.
Joe did via rigging.
KGNParticipant1. Historically, men married women younger than them.
2. FFBs aren’t as open to marrying BTs as they could be.
3. Fathers and Father-in-laws shouldn’t be in the מצב of not marrying off their kids because of kollel sponsorship issues.
4. Stricter categories of working vs learning are an issue.
5. Encouraging men and women to look a certain way.
6. Lack of בטחון.
KGNParticipantWhat about authoritarian leaders that actually fixed things? South Korea was once Authoritarian-leaning, and the ancient Kingdom of Israel most certainly was not a democracy. Then again, neither was Pre-Communist Russia.
November 4, 2020 12:37 pm at 12:37 pm in reply to: Finding out who won the presidential election 2020 #1916791KGNParticipantAnd voting machines weren’t working in Brooklyn.
And I’m sure something was up in AZ (which is predominately Republican).
KGNParticipantEsav literally killed a man. Trump has yet to kill someone. This is a pathetic attempt at establishing a comparison between Esav and Donald Trump.
@Besalel , made a better analogy – comparing Trump to Akhashverosh.KGNParticipantNote: If your wife wants to wear the non-wig headcovering, let he do so.
November 3, 2020 2:15 pm at 2:15 pm in reply to: character vs policy Which is more important? #1916448KGNParticipantIf a the world’s most politically powerful man eats like a dog but is good to the Hebrew nation, then how is he bad? If he keeps the 7 Noahide Laws but interrupts people to call them a “liar”, is he a bad person?
KGNParticipantThe Unstumppable Trump is the greatest president in American history who has done more to fix the economy and military.
Traitor Joe would make it easier for Communist China which puts Uighurs in concentration camps and is a threat to Japan as well as India.
The city that Harris represents had an increase in crime when she became more politically powerful.
The Left didn’t have multi-city protests when people, who so happened to be Black, gunned down Jews in NJ.
KGNParticipantTo the first post, Harris isn’t as vocal on supporting the Arabs as much as she’s vocal on other issues, but given the people that this woman is affiliated with, she will be putting Anti-Israel politicians into power.
To Reb Eliezer, given both countries are now allies, it isn’t. That would be like saying that Russia is Anti-Russian for selling guns to a Russian ally.
To UJM, That means that Biden is getting help from foreign help for a campaign. Where’s the Biden-Abbas Collusion story, here?
KGNParticipantIncredible information.
