Harotzeh, first of all I’m talking about modern schools which charge 20,000$ and do send.kids home if they cant afford it. Second of all where did you get that 40% of aschools budget is tuition?? Buddy I’ve worked in these schools before, trust me they would charge even more for tuition but they want some people to attend. I’m telling you in 10 years from now, these schools will be forced to cut their rates.
kfbParticipantAhh classic yeshivas.. they care more about money thatn a child being Jewish. 10 years from now they’re going to be forced to lower their tuition rates Bc this generation has no.money
kfbParticipantFirst of all there definitely was a spitted. None of you understand what these extremists are trying to do. They are having between 10-15 children and need more places to live. They want to and eventually will make bet shemesh the next meashea rim. Their rabbonim don’t approve of their acts, but their.main concern is the end result.
December 26, 2011 3:09 pm at 3:09 pm in reply to: When Parents' interests are mutually exclusive to their children's #838402kfbParticipantBarshattya- What kid would want to be sent away? He has.his.family and.friends at home. Ask the kid what he wants to.do! Most kids I know who were sent away during highschool, went way off the derech Bc of the too much freedom they had.
December 26, 2011 4:25 am at 4:25 am in reply to: When Parents' interests are mutually exclusive to their children's #838393kfbParticipantI think its disgusting.when parents send their.children away during highschool! The kid should have afamily to come to everyday not just for he holidays!!
kfbParticipantThe kid is 9 years old! Who would want to sit in shul for 3 hours at that age?? I know I didn’t! Let him run around with his friends and play outside. If you want him to daven shema and shmoneh esrai, fine.. but to make him stay in shul without a bribe is torture!!
kfbParticipantI’d love to show this thread to my cousin’s wife.. She’s a big time talmud of Rabbi Weiss!!
kfbParticipantzahavas dads- at a batmitzvah we don’t make a brocha, at a simchat bat they do make a bracha.
Apushatayid- you’re right I should have rephrased the question- “Did anyone hear of ashkanazim making a simchat bat”? Happy??
kfbParticipantapushatayid- First of all I do know the person who made the simchat bat and they he is a rabbi from Rabbi Weiss’s chovavei torah, second of all his wife is a huge feminist and third of all they are definitely not sefardi!
kfbParticipantIf you’re soo shtark then don’t watch the maccabeats video! Noones forcing you to watch it!!
kfbParticipantFirst of all we don’t need to own guns. I suggest we all have bats and do patrols around the neighborhood.
Yungerman1- Shomrim are great and I respect them very much, but do you remember 2 weeks ago when 5 cars were lit on fire with antisemitic words written all over??
kfbParticipantYes I know one very well. He didn’t work on Shabbos but had to work Sundays instead. Good Luck!
kfbParticipantYea, Obama is president!
kfbParticipantThese women are living in a different world. I saw an article about one of them; how they won’t let their husband come home from kollel until 11:30 pm so he won’t see his 12 year old daughter in pajamas. That’s ridiculous! These women are like kids who go to Israel after high school and flip out and take on all of these stringencys. Hopefully just like these “flip outs” flip in when they return to America, so will these crazy taliban women.
kfbParticipantRabbi Lamm is a talmid chachim, so please don’t bash him. I can’t believe there’s even an argument here about Touro or YU. Nobody will tell you that Touro is a better school, because it’s just not. YU has a better ranking (#45 overall) Touro is an easier school and that’s why people who want to learn all day can go there because they don’t have to put too much effort into it. YU does have learning also, so you have to be somewhat smart to do the double curriculum there because the secular studies are very demanding too. The hashkafa of YU is definitely needed in our World, to work and learn; many people forget that they have to work also. Yes there are non-religous Jews at YU but overall it’s a Jewish enviroment, plus Touro has goyim!
kfbParticipantEveryone copies everyone else. If you don’t, you get put in cheirum until you conform
kfbParticipantThey’re both big followers of Rabbi Weiss, so I assume those people do that sort of thing.
kfbParticipantYes!! The past 2 times I checked the coffee room from my blackberry the screen went blank and I had to restart it. I think it’s time I get a new blackberry
kfbParticipantPopa- I know you’re a moderator and I mean no offense by this, but in the real world, we don’t use the word “retarded.” Please stop using this word, it’s really offensive, and I’m going to leave the coffee room if the mods allow this word to be used.
December 4, 2011 7:22 pm at 7:22 pm in reply to: Who else is sick of all these "mods" posts? #833261kfbParticipantcb1- what’s there to explain? Look at all the titles of people’s posts. Alot of them have to do with something with the mods.. It’s annoying
kfbParticipantMark levin- I know what the mafia is, its the vaad!!!
kfbParticipantI’m not sure if you’re talking about this rabbi, but there is a rabbi in far rockaway who told people they can’t buy OU meat from costco. Once he said that, I knew it was a joke..
kfbParticipantI don’t understand how the mods let you get away with this nonsense..
November 30, 2011 3:42 pm at 3:42 pm in reply to: what are your thoughts on the SY community #830911kfbParticipantthey have verrrry nice homes!!
kfbParticipantIf you’re in yeshiva and that’s what you plan on doing the rest of your life and your parents insist you go to college, then go to touro. That’s why a lot of people go there, because their parents want them to go to college. They don’t really care about a degree and neither do their rebbeim. But if you want a good education and have a job after college, then I’d say go to YU.
Health- It’s not Motzei sheim ra, we’re trying to help people who think touro and YU are equal in their level of academics and recognition in the real world.
kfbParticipantUmm real brisker- I do know what a mashgiach is used for. To get paid to sit around and check if things are being done properly once in a while. If a non jew owns the store then I understand why you would need a mashgiach, but if a frum Jew owns one, I don’t get it
kfbParticipantWhy should this lady pay for a machgiach when she’s know more that he does. She grew up in a very frum home and knows how to keep a kitchen kosher. Why should she pay some guy who goes out on a cigarette break every half hr? We should be able to trust the rabbis of our communities if something is kosher or not. Do you need the vaad to tell you if you can eat in someone’s home. So why should the vaad tell you if you can eat in a restaurant run by a very frum woman?
kfbParticipantListen, Abella asked where they should go.. My opinion is if you want a good education and have a career after college then go to YU. That’s my opinion.. I had rebbeim in Israel who were very against YU and told me it was kefirah.. But end of the day I had to make my own decision.. I never even heard of Touro until I went to Israel for the year.
kfbParticipantPashcha; YU is a much better school academically! My friends at Touro were never told to go get an internship because if you didn’t you wouldn’t find a job after school. Have you been to a touro career fair?? It’s a joke! My friends have tried to apply to jobs on company websites, and when they ask what school your from, Touro isn’t even on the drop down lists of schools, you have to write it in other. There’s no comparison between the two!
kfbParticipantDO NOT GO TO TOURO!! I REPEAT DO NOT GO THERE!! IF YOU WANT A JOB OUT OF COLLEGE, GO TO YU!! I Have a lot of friends who went to Touro and can’t find work!! Unless you can work for your parents or you have good connections, do not go to touro!!!
November 21, 2011 11:23 pm at 11:23 pm in reply to: Moving somewhere else since there are no jobs in NY #828903kfbParticipantMy field is finance, no children. I’d like to talk to you about it but I’m not really sure how we can communicate..
kfbParticipantIf one wears a white shirt, he’s shtark. If one wears a colored shirt, there’s something off. I’m just kidding, color of shirt means absolutely nothing. People made a big deal out of it because that’s what we like to do.. But in reality as long as your son is dressed nicely and presentable, he could wear a pink shirt for all I care
kfbParticipantI don’t know about Yerushalayim being the best city in the World. Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely the holiest and there are fun things to do there, but it does get boring after a while. Ben Yehuda is fun but for how long. I think New York and Miami are the best cities in the World. There’s soo much to do there
November 20, 2011 4:25 pm at 4:25 pm in reply to: Does anyone else view the occupiers as traitors?? #828204kfbParticipantYea I did try talking to them, but all they do is shout and repeat themselves over and over again! They have no point in what they’re saying, they just want to start a movement which btw isn’t working out for them at all!
November 20, 2011 12:13 am at 12:13 am in reply to: Does anyone else view the occupiers as traitors?? #828200kfbParticipantI know I shouldn’t be doing this, but since everyone else is ignoring SOLIEK, I guess I’ll respond to him.
Buddy I went down to zuccoti park, I don’t get how you can call it a pleasant site.. Do you know where the park is?? It’s in lower Manhattan, not Brooklyn. You must be confused. It was a horrible site, a bunch of homeless hippies who wreaked of disgusting smells. My pregnant wife couldn’t stand near the park for long because it smelled so bad. I went into the park and it looked like a hippie feastivle, noone had any clue what was going on.
Ok I get it, you’re probably a liberal who wants to defend these people, but please don’t make up lies that you’ve been to the park and it was pleasant, noone likes that guy…
kfbParticipantMikehall- I don’t know if you knew this, but the Israeli government ISN’T RELIGOUS!! They do what they want!! Plus they did it on Shabbos!!
kfbParticipantBecause it costs more money with texting part of the plan
September 20, 2011 1:40 pm at 1:40 pm in reply to: Chasidim rioting against Beit Shemesh girl's school #811108kfbParticipantHealth- It’s a free country!! They could put a girls school wherever they want! You’ve got to be kidding me with your comments. And is the datei leumi community really dressing that untznius?? They’re religious Jews too! Just because they don’t meet the standards of the extremist (which by the way barely anyone does), doesn’t mean they can’t go out in the streets how they wish!
September 19, 2011 10:00 pm at 10:00 pm in reply to: Chasidim rioting against Beit Shemesh girl's school #811102kfbParticipantToi- noones killing chareidim, I’m just upset how there are a minority of a group that acts this way. They need to chill out a little
September 19, 2011 7:40 pm at 7:40 pm in reply to: Chasidim rioting against Beit Shemesh girl's school #811096kfbParticipantI love how they think that they can just come into a neighborhood and have everyone adhere to their rules!
September 19, 2011 6:53 pm at 6:53 pm in reply to: Chasidim rioting against Beit Shemesh girl's school #811092kfbParticipantA. Yes it is chasidim, read the articles.
B. Harrasing the girls school and yelling and saying disgusting things to little children and adults as well is considered rioting
kfbParticipantI don’t know what weddings you go to, but the weddings I attend(Some very religious, some not)the smorgasbord is for everyone, and only the men can go into the chosson’s tisch, where the booze is. You should be asking yourself this; if a wedding doesn’t have an open bar, then why is it fair that only the men get to drink because they can go to the chosson’s ticsh where the booze is, but the women are only allowed to go to the shmorg??
kfbParticipantChickensforshabbos.com- its a soup kitchen in Israel, its so easy to donate. Just go on this website.
Or another one I give to is a girl’s orphanage in Israel, go to levlalev.org, and it’s also easy to donate!
Maaser is a huge mitzvah, good luck and you should see a lot of reward from it!!
kfbParticipantIt makes no sense to me why Israel was every allies with those Turks!! I guess with friends like these, who needs enemies? It’s all up to the U.S anyways. If America tells Turkey to stop acting like 5 year olds, then they’ll listen. If not, then Turkey should burn!!
September 13, 2011 3:41 pm at 3:41 pm in reply to: I need advice on how to handle this please #810145kfbParticipantByanonymous- Wait a second! You’re father just started working???? How did he support your family while you were growing up?? Something doesn’t make sense here!
kfbParticipantMichael Jackson bleeding

March 17, 2011 3:44 am at 3:44 am in reply to: IS ANYONE ELSE SCARED THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END??? #750967kfbParticipant600kilobear returns, I tried wrapping myself in tinfoil and waiting for the aliens, but they never came!
kfbParticipantAries2756, can you explain why not? Also I’m going to be fresh out of college, what would you expect me to take? Maybe you can help me
kfbParticipantIt’s a very mature thing to not take money from your parents and pay for things on your own. You’re obviously more mature and more responsible than your peers and that is a great thing! I stopped taking money from my parents a few years ago, and it’s a great feeling. I can live my own life with out being controlled by anyone. Also I am ten times more mature and responsible than my friends who are “spoiled” and get what ever that want. You’re doing a great thing, more teenagers should be like you!
