kapustaParticipant
YL u may be surprised by this but some of us don’t live in Brooklyn
but we do feel your pain.
I hope you’re joking. Where else is there?!
J/K
kapustaParticipantI agree its annoying, but maybe he was thinking about something else (or being a good driver) and he forgot…?
kapustaParticipantMods, what would I have to do to change a whole bunch of subtitles to say “Joseph”?

kapustaParticipanti don’t know what to make of that..does it mean “you’re usually ugly”, or “why r U pretty and I’M not”
I think the second.
kapustaParticipantall though I did go to Yeshiva in EY with his son(the speaking voice, not singing voice one).
Thats real yichus! ?

I think there was something in the news a few days (week or two?) ago about someone selling drugs out of an ice cream truck…
August 28, 2011 10:42 am at 10:42 am in reply to: To those brothers and sisters on the East Coast… #803488kapustaParticipantif he is more outgoing and comlements a Frum young lady, its a nice thing.
Nice thing; maybe. Wrong setting; very.
kapustaParticipantStop with the Tznius jokes. Its probably bgeder leitzanus.
Agreed. However I will say that having threads discussing sensitivities in Tznius and passing them off as Halacha in such a public forum is asking for it to happen.
August 28, 2011 10:18 am at 10:18 am in reply to: Who is your favorite member, responding to threads? #807086kapustaParticipantkapusta… (blush) may Hashem bentch you with all things that are good!!
Amen! (If I hadn’t mentioned your name before, I would have just for that!)
Thanks!
August 28, 2011 10:11 am at 10:11 am in reply to: Not trying to offend anybody but are you for real?! #802453kapustaParticipantGood thing you aren’t trying to offend anyone. 😉
I think people use the CR to vent, discuss and get advice. Not for a final word but as a suggestion. Its easier to get to the right solution with a group offering advice than just a few people, and sometimes people removed from (or those who don’t know) the situation can give better advice.
kapustaParticipantok i missed that joke.
Me too.
(I cant believe this thread got so far) (not a post just a thought)
Did anyone else see that?!
August 26, 2011 9:37 am at 9:37 am in reply to: Who is your favorite member, responding to threads? #807056kapustaParticipantWow, my name was mentioned! Cool! (I’m also honored to have been grouped with 80 and aries)
I know I’m probably leaving people out. These are the ones that come to mind (in no particular order):
AYC- posts are always encouraging, helpful and sensitive. And nice.
80- posts always come from a good place and have real-life good sense. And sometimes very funny.
squeak- smart and funny. (I think that really says it best.)
mommamia- posts are always practical and sensible.
Goq- has some great lines
wanderingchana- good sense of humor
42- funny posts. Comments are practical, smart and sensitive.
ursula- real-life smart with a humorous spin
Wolf- comments are practical and usually puts a different twist on the OP/thread/comment
aries- always wants to help (In case that can be interpreted wrongly- I mean it in a positive way). Her posts and style of writing are also very clear.
yossi z.- good posts and he keeps the Mazal Tov thread running.
ronrsr- funny!
MG- posts are life-smart. (and sometimes funny)
oomis- posts are very practical.
ICOT- very helpful.
gefen- sensible comments.
(Sorry if some of them seem repetitive. They were the best words I could think of.)
Apologies to those left off this list that should be here. And apologies to those that I did mention that deserve more recognition/appreciation than they were given.
kapustaParticipantAnother way to lose weight: laugh a lot. Got a good laugh from some posts on this page. Thanks!
kapustaParticipantIf thats the case, wouldn’t anything with a sugar substitute do that too?
~~~~~~
I have a theory for weight loss, I don’t know if it works or what damage it might (c’v) do but I’ll throw it out for discussion anyway. (Do it at your own risk- totally not recommending.) Watch one thing; Calories, fat, sugar (simple carbs), salt and eat reasonably well in the other categories.
Also keep in mind that in general, losing weight is easy, keeping it off is hard. Whatever diet plan you try needs a (healthy) cheat system in place otherwise you’ll be off it in a week or two.
kapustaParticipantI think you should form your own opinion. Even if you come to the same conclusion, it wont be based on the way you see others treat her.
For some people even a little thing is a big deal. Think of any interaction with her as a therapist/patient relationship. Help her (even by listening) but leave it at that. Don’t take your work “home” with you and don’t let it get to you.
kapustaParticipantsorry to hear that im sure u will do better next time chin up.
Interesting. Never knew you were an exercise coach. 😉
(Is there even such a thing?)
2CUTE, IY”H the next one should go easily and well.
August 23, 2011 8:47 am at 8:47 am in reply to: Shidduch segulah  One I have not seen before #858633kapustaParticipantYes. I think the brain has a sort of file and the whole “setting” (even the unimportant stuff) gets filed away. I associate a certain CD with a book I was reading the first time I heard it.
kapustaParticipantI guess you mean one that is not currently lived in (or at least available for rent)…
Do you live in Brooklyn? I think the best is to check the Torah Times and the Link if you have access to them. Next best is to check Hamodia/Yated but the stuff advertised there probably goes much more quickly.
Good luck
kapustaParticipantI think so. Check a pomegranate type store (read: one with shelf space that will carry more products)
(I’ve heard that the lower in sugar is usually helped by higher in fat but I never checked it out)
kapustaParticipantI will watch my mouth for 2 hours today. May she have a speedy recovery! May she be healthy and well ?? ??? ?????? ???.
I’m not trying to “rate” mitzvos but I have no doubt watching ones mouth (from l”h/bad language/etc) has tremendous value. May it be a zchus for everyone that needs.
~~~~~~~
Can anyone confirm about the name?
kapustaParticipantI can only speak for myself so I’ll tell you what catches my eye.
An interesting name (which you already have)
Post on a few threads, not just one. (Join in the conversation- respond to specific comments, not only the OP)
Mention that you’re new. I’ll notice you more once I know to look for you.
Getting everyone riled up will get you publicity but it might not be good publicity.
I have a feeling I welcomed you, if not than welcome.
And hey, sometimes us old-timers feel ignored to. Everyone is treated equally 😉
kapustaParticipantI thought Kapusta was referring to her kids
Lol. FTR, I’m single
“Healthy craziness” sounds like an oxymoron.
Which craziness is healthy, IIMA?
It is. I think its good for a person to be a little different. Nothing major, but a little out of the box, a little crazy… (obviously not referring to Yiddishkeit/Halacha) Wouldn’t you choose an original over a copy?
IIMA- Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad
I’m gonna need some help here.
kapustaParticipant“I’m suggesting they use a spelling checker”
it’s called a spell checker
Lol, I think that was discussed a long time ago. A spell checker is what a witch would use to check a spell and a spelling checker is what someone would use to check spelling. 😉
Anyone know where it was?
August 22, 2011 1:03 am at 1:03 am in reply to: You are what you bring into your home! (For movie watchers…) #800822kapustaParticipantcinderella, I agree with Hacham on this one (a rare occurence). Movies are full of every trash imaginable. I will definitely say there are some things that are clean (no, not many) but lets call a spade a spade.
(When I say clean I mean kosher, not kosher style. Please no one make excuses for watching something they shouldn’t be.)
kapustaParticipantPringles are awsome and who doesn’t like Oreos…
*raises hand*
With ya on the pringles thing though.
August 22, 2011 12:49 am at 12:49 am in reply to: Shidduch segulah One I have not seen before #858624kapustaParticipantPlease everyone out there daven for each other!!!
Ever hear of Daven For Me? I think they’re online, you might want to look into it.
August 22, 2011 12:47 am at 12:47 am in reply to: Tehillim for Chaya Sara bas Chava Breindel #803140kapustaParticipantI heard the name Ruchama was added (Ruchama Chaya Sara…)
Can anyone confirm?
gefen, bump is used to bring up a thread.
kapustaParticipantI’m not sure what you mean. I’m proud of what I consider a healthy craziness.
Who wants to be normal anyway, its so boring.
kapustaParticipant*sniffle*
you called me queen! jk
Thanks so much! It looks great, cant wait to try it but I have a feeling it might take some time… 🙁
Now that I’ve bothered you already, I’ll will again and ask how you sift whole wheat flour.
Thanks again!
kapustaParticipantAmen!
Better late than never. Sorry I missed the party, but happy birthday!!!!
Bracha and Hatzlacha AMV”S!
August 21, 2011 9:37 am at 9:37 am in reply to: You are what you bring into your home! (For movie watchers…) #800812kapustaParticipantWIY:
Please don’t take this as an attack, it is not meant as one, simply a suggestion.
There is a very fine line between making a point and going overboard. On several occasions you have made your opinions on this specific topic clear and sometimes it can come across as harping on it. I do agree with you, but maybe its possible to stick to other topics of mussar/Divrei Torah.
I do believe there is something called clean watching, but at the same time I will add that I have seen (IMO) a clear effect of people being exposed to the wrong things.
August 21, 2011 9:16 am at 9:16 am in reply to: Shidduch segulah One I have not seen before #858620kapustaParticipantBy the way, Kapusta, I made your potato Kugel and bagels and they were fantastic! May you and all who need shidduchim hagunim, be zocher to build a bayit neeman le shem ule tiferet le Yisrael be karov amen!
Amen! Thank you!
Very happy to hear you enjoyed the bagel recipe but I don’t remember ever posting a potato kugel recipe, are you sure it was mine?
kapustaParticipantWIY: Sorry, AYC said what I’ve been thinking for a long time. I know good news doesn’t sell papers but maybe its possible to focus on it a little more anyway? (I’m talking to everyone reading and myself as well)
Toi, I hear you but maybe a little less harsh next time…?
