Ben Torah— Not EVERYONE lives in Brooklyn. There are plenty of walmarts in NJ and MD and everywhere else.

yeshivaguy1 -“I’m a fan of the in between places like lakewood and monsey where you aren’t crammed into a tiny area but they still have enough in town amenities to be enjoyable.” …….i geg to differ about monsey, it is nice but the traffic is rediculous, its like brooklyn.

I grew up in ny and love to visit, but realistically buddy, OOT is cheaper, way better quality of life for kids and if you choose an oot city like Passaic, Baltimore Lakewood than you do have everything you need. Im not saying there isnt an amazing abundance of Torah in NY but many oot communities rival it….

Im sorry but $20,000 for seminary is RIDICULOUS.Period.It is simply not fair to the parents who are losing sleep at night worrying how in the world they are going to pay for it. In the majority the girls will come out with great Hashkofos and be great wives and mothers Al Pi Derech HaTorah without having gone to EY for seminary.. I’m not Ch”v knocking going to EY, after they are married, a trip there is essential, but with most parents struggling with all the other expenses it just SIMPLY DOESN’T MAKE SENSE.

Yes Health I lived there for about 7 years, and i know plenty of people who moved from lakewood to baltimore…and NO it is not an exaggeration!! You have to live there to see it, and there arent only “litvaks and yekkes” as you put it, there are also ALOT of Iranian Sefardim, Modern Orth, YU type, some Chassidim etc…Are you kidding the COOP???

Queen is 100% on target! and Health, not EVERYONE lives in Lakewood. Baltimore is an extremely special community, people are very nice and REAL and Everyone gets along. Bli Ayin Hara, There is NO machlokes between different types of Yiddin. RENT is VERY cheap compared to the NY area, you can rent a 3 br for around $1100 and a house for abt $1300-$1500…And it has practically everything like almost 30 shuls many excellent Yeshivos, and around 10 or more kosher restaurants and the NICEST Kosher supermarket anywhere. A great JCC with separate swimming and a kosher pizza shop in it.Plus Maryland is pretty much beautiful. You can get free info from the JCC here: https://secure.ujcfederations.org/ft2/form.html?__id=19985

The wedding night is a very special night and go to a place where you dont have the urge to unpack your unopened boxes is a good idea.

OH PULEEEEESE…There is absolutely nothing wrong with it! This is precisely what we dont need in Klal Yisroel, to have machlokes about something so Parve and non denominational as Mothers Day. My daughter came home with a Mothers day project for my wife (we live out of town and she goes to a VERY FRUM YESHIVISH school)

I dont know what everyone is kvetching about. I have had pretty good experiences with airline food. Ok, its not like going to a nice restaurant, but on Elal, COntinental even Tower etc its been good.
