Thank you all!!
justbecauseParticipantim a yekke!
justbecauseParticipantCamp Simcha special is awesome!!!!!!!!
I’ve been there for a few years and its such an amazing place!!!!
its very rewarding; most people end up saying that they got so much more than they gave from the experience.
if you’re able to get in this late then go for it!!!!!
the application deadline passed but if you know the right people….
(P.S.- i have only been there for the boys sessions but I’m assuming the girls sessions are also pretty awesome)
justbecauseParticipantand yes of course, every good medic knows “BLS before ALS”
justbecauseParticipantsorry i didn’t mean it like that.
i was referring to a little joke that they say about EMT’s in the private ambulance industry.
EMT’s are BLS Providers as opposed to Medics who are ALS providers; they say that
BLS= Basic Lift and Shlep
because in the private industry thats what the emts Mostly do. of course EMT’s do save lives and are trained in many life saving techniques i was just referring to that little joke.
justbecauseParticipantEMT=Basic Lift and Shlep
Health is right; EMT’s are an integral part of the EMS system but what they actually do is Basic Lift and Shlep (for the most part)
justbecauseParticipantnotsuchalamdan16- are you proposing that Hatzolah causes people to get divorced?
and just remember the single guys are the ones who generally have more time to go on calls; without them the married guys would have to leave more often.
notsuchalamdan16- which causes more divorces the married hatzolah guys taking too many calls because their are no single guys around to take the calls? or having single guys on hatzolah and giving them the thrill of hatzolah calls which continue through marriage also?

– i hate that excuse
justbecauseParticipantjackinthebox- the information you learn in a course is important and very useful however you can’t compare one who KNOWS what do to one who HAS EXPERIENCE doing it.
and for all of those who are taking CPR/First Aid course- Kudos to you!
but i request of you all to make sure you actually PAY ATTENTION during the course and every once in a while look on (website not mentioned due to treifness) to see how these skills are done, refresh your knowledge and don’t be that person who doesn’t know what to do when someone collapses in shul or at a restaurant!
justbecauseParticipanti agree with oomis; everyone should know the basics!
a simple CPR course can take you a couple of hours and First aid maybe a couple more.
its a cheap, easy, and quick course that everyone should take.
Just shed a few hours on a sunday off of your YWN CoffeeRoom time 🙂
March 4, 2014 5:05 pm at 5:05 pm in reply to: maybe we all should stop getting drunk on purim #1056609justbecauseParticipanti have never been drunk and don’t plan on getting drunk; my friends tell me i have no idea what I’m missing…. i guess ill never know
justbecauseParticipantalthough some ppl who are trained in CPR/First Aid actually know what they’re doing, most don’t. Trust me- I’ve seen ppl who are “trained in CPR/First aid” use their “skills”…. an average EMT knows a lot more than those who are “trained” in CPR/First Aid
justbecauseParticipantim assuming PBA meant that you may want your equipment close by
