JosephParticipant
GMAB, I thought it was for explaining to you about the status of DC, in response to your question.
But none is necessary.
JosephParticipantItzik,
Are your views of yenne medina prevalent in Chabad?
JosephParticipantPeople for Eating Tasty Animals (PETA)?
JosephParticipantThe AP has a story about the ad the RJC is running on YWN:

JosephParticipantGMAB, Refuah Shelamo.
JosephParticipantThanks for what?
JosephParticipantHealth providers are prohibited by health insurance law from raising rates on policyholders based upon illness.
JosephParticipantThe District of Columbia, as its name implies, is a fedral district and not a State.
Article One, Section 8, of the United States Constitution:
To exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten miles square) as may, by cession of particular states, and the acceptance of Congress, become the seat of the government of the United States, and to exercise like authority over all places purchased by the consent of the legislature of the state in which the same shall be, for the erection of forts, magazines, arsenals, dockyards, and other needful buildings;–And
To make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by this Constitution in the government of the United States, or in any department or officer thereof.

(Just because you may not like it, doesn’t make the Ran inaccurate.)
JosephParticipantIts a famous story that is taught to kinderlach in cheder even before they start learning Gemorah. (The above translation is from Artscroll’s sefer on Shabbos.)
JosephParticipantyoshi, the original poster may not be checking the thread. He left his email address above. Why not drop him a message?

September 17, 2008 2:14 pm at 2:14 pm in reply to: Should Yeshiva Bochrim Dress in “Style” ? #622206JosephParticipantintellegent, Beautiful point!
The Yidden were highly praised for having maintained their Jewish dress in Mitzrayim. At Krias Yam Suf we sang how the Egyptians boasted and attempted to overcome Klal Yisroel “Omar oyev erdof, asig, achalaik sholol” (I will chase them, I will overcome them, and I will give them our names, our language and our dress.)
Jews have always had a Jewish way of dress, different than the pruste goy.
JosephParticipantThe International Red Cross were in cahoots with the Nazis in hiding the Concentration Camps conditions.
JosephParticipantillini – we hold it against Amalek’s offspring, and I would assume you wouldn’t object.
JosephParticipantGive me a break,
The famous Ran in Nedarim categorically states that Dina Dmalchusa Dina is inapplicable in Eretz Yisroel (as every Yid has a G-d given right to live there.)
JosephParticipantPerhaps Obama had thought the United States had at some point annexed the 10 Canadian provinces, giving us 60 states. (In the 1800’s the was some agitation for the U.S. to annex Canada.)
JosephParticipantBTW, nowhere in the United States Constitution does it say, or imply, anything about “separation of church and state.”
The First Amendment to the United States Constitution states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . .” (like quoted by mariner.)
JosephParticipantEditor, I’m using it now on YW. No need for adjusting as far as I can tell. In any event, its market share is approx. 1% currently, since it is only 2 weeks old. It should improve over time. But the thing I find most beneficial regarding it, is its unparalleled speed in displaying webpages. (Notably faster than even Firefox in my opinion.)
JosephParticipantUnder these laws, a religious institution is as much required to offer their employees these benefits as any private enterprise. (This has been a major point of lobbying contention with organizations such as Agudah and the Diocese.)
JosephParticipantBeautiful. Did you get the email I sent to 613?
JosephParticipantNew Jersey too:
“Ccompanies that buy private health insurance plans for their employees are compelled to offer them to same-sex couples under the state’s civil union laws.”
(Washington Post, 6/30/07)
So a Yid with a private company in NJ (or a Jewish organization) would be required to recognize (and pay) for the sodomites “partners” insurance.
JosephParticipantillini –
This is applicable to private enterprises and religious institutions. So your contention that “Civil unions have no effect on your religious institutions” is incorrect.

But your Yiddish above does leaves me the impression you know it flawlessly!
JosephParticipantillini, Since when have you become such a big States-Rights fan? States with civil union laws often require religious organizations to offer benefits to the sodomites “partner.” So it does affect us.
Give me a break, you stated on a previous thread that you support abortion and sodomy marriage.
September 15, 2008 11:58 pm at 11:58 pm in reply to: Scene at OHare Airport in Chicago This Past Sunday Afternoon #622044JosephParticipanticot, nisht azoi shreklach. grada, gantz fein.
JosephParticipantGive me, I think illini is Obama’s in-house Jew.
(Will illini take this seriously…?)
September 15, 2008 8:01 pm at 8:01 pm in reply to: Scene at OHare Airport in Chicago This Past Sunday Afternoon #622039JosephParticipantgavra,
Thank You. Well said.
JosephParticipantCo-ed is about the worst thing that can be done. The problems that WILL occur are hideous.
JosephParticipantFeivel, Did you really take all those images? They’re absolutely amazing!
I sure hope you weren’t the photographer by your own childrens chasuna’s. I presume none of these are self-portraits… Are they all mishpacha?
JosephParticipantillini – Your point is well taken, but Obama is not running against Palin, and Palin is not running for President.
The position of Vice President, which Palin is running for, has very few constitutional duties. In fact, the only constitutional duty it carries, is being President of the United States Senate. (And even there, only votes in case of a tie.)
So between choosing an inexperienced President and an inexperienced VP, who only becomes President in an unlikely event, the choice is clear. (Additionally, between the two, Obama’s “experience” is only legislative while Palin’s is executive — more appropriate for a Presidency.)
JosephParticipantHit and run? Why assume malice where none exists? Why not assume righteousness that stares at you?
He said he tried to find the owner at the time. He now feels that “at the time I didn’t try hard enough.”
A Yid could question himself as not having tried hard enough to pay someone else.
JosephParticipantintellegent, Thanks for that laugh. You have a good sense of humor.
JosephParticipantAnother proof Yidden are the best:
Ever heard of a goy still trying to find someone he inadvertently damaged 13 years ago to pay him back?
JosephParticipantFeivel, I thought you meant photography was your profession (rather than hobby)…
Btw what neck of the woods do you reside in?
JosephParticipantIf its a hangout, it isn’t kosher.
Co-ed is the worst. Once you kasher such tarfus, you’ll invite people who would never otherwise dream of doing such terrible things.
You can’t help people by hurting the rest of society. You need to find another way.
JosephParticipantInexperienced. Rookie Senator (only 3 years in Senate), and just a state legislator prior
Married to someone not proud to be American all her life (until her husband won the primary)
Anti-Semite/Anti-White Rev. Jerimiah Wright 20+ YEARS close association
Most liberal Senator
Associated with Chicago crooks
flip-flops on many issues

pro-toeiva
pro-tax increase

JosephParticipantEarly to bed…
Joseph, I assume you mean early in the AM.
JosephParticipantIs anyone here from the Jekkishe Jidden?
JosephParticipantmariner, Refuah Shelamo. Provide us your and your mothers name and we’ll all add you in refuanu.
There is NOTHING wrong with our religion. The Torah (and by extension the Jewish religion) IS PERFECT.
JosephParticipantNo. We are BETTER. (And certainly not worth arguing with an abortion/toeiva supporter such as yourself.)
JosephParticipantfeivel, are you a cust. at b&h?
September 12, 2008 5:28 pm at 5:28 pm in reply to: Scene at OHare Airport in Chicago This Past Sunday Afternoon #622013JosephParticipantsqueak, are you an old hand at Usenet?
JosephParticipantBerlin,
Feivel is right.
(P.S. I just provided you what you asked for above. “One last question. You keep on quoting the brisker Rov zz’l. Can you bring me a real sources of how he felt and what he said?”)
Henceforth I shall defer to Feivel’s suggestion.
JosephParticipantFeivel,
Thanks.
I wonder the same thing myself. It helps to hear it from you.
JosephParticipantBerlin, per your request above I present –
Rav Chaim Soloveichik of Brisk:
Dear Rabbi Moshe Carpas:
I have also read your words in connection with the sect of the Zionists who are now powerfully banded together. I do not blush to admit that I do not know how to find paths to oppose them.
Seeing that these men are known as evil in their localities, and have already proclaimed their purpose, which is to uproot the fundamentals of our faith, and to take over all Jewish communities to aid them in their plan.
It is hardly credible that after the revelations of their arrogant hearts there should still be found right-minded men willing to ally themselves with them. It is greatly astonishing throughout the whole Jewish People that they should be given a place and a voice in public affairs, since it is known they are causing others to sin.
Let the people guard their souls lest they join them in the destruction of our religion and become an obstacle to the House of Israel.

When asked: aren’t we to pray for them, in order they should repent from their evil ways? He replied: three times a day in the prayer against the atheists we pray that they should be destroyed.
JosephParticipantanon,
I agree with you about that menuvel Coulter. There are far wiser, and better, conservatives to quote if necessary.
