    yes! the ONLY holy language.
The insertion of some Aramaic does not make the LANGUAGE holy, only the particular insertion is holy because it is part of the holy Torah. So too the Sefer of Daniel is holy because it is part of Tanach, but not that the language per se becomes holy. I believe that years ago I was told that in Yirmiyahu there is a Babylonian word
inserted somewhere. If true, does that make Babylonian holy??????
Yiddish is our special adopted language – I hope it never dies out amongst our people – I speak it fairly fluently – but it cannot be called HOLY in the same sense as LASHON KODESH!! Just like an adopted child is not called the zera of his new parents, even if they call him “our son.”

Rav Aharon Lichtenstein was my classmate at YU studying under Rav Y D Soloveitchik, who gave his shiur in Yiddish. That may be why Rav AHaron gave his shiurim in Yidish too. After I had left YU I foud out that the Rav stopped using Yiddish because the younger generation no longer understood it. I am not sure if he switched to English or Hebrew [perhaps someone can enlighten us from his experience at Yu?]
When I was in the Rabbinate I spoke twice a year in Yiddish [Shabbos HaGadol and Shabbos Teshuivah] just to keep “in touch” – to the delight of several old-timers in my shul.
The seforim I wrote are all in English – and b’h sold out.

I don’t have the time to read all the entries so maybe someone already wrote the following:
a well-known story circulated about shlomo’s last day on earth. There are two versions – I heard one from a relative who received it from the man involved. This yid refused to shake his hands in a shul that morning. Shlomo was offended but the man said it was because he was lax in negiyah. he was silent for a few seconds and asked “what if i do teshuivah over that?” the yid agreed. Shlomo then said, I have just done teshuvah over that aveirah” – the yid shook his hand and Shlomo left happy. An hjour or two later he died at the airport.
How are these people who refuse to be mekabel his teshuvah – holier that hakadosh boruch hu???

the fellow says “they are not effective” several times.
Ask him “In that case there should not be metal deteCtors ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, RIGHT??”
THE FACT IS SIMPLE: IF THEY WERE NOT EFFECTIVE, THE ARAB WORLD WOULD NOT BE SO MESHUGA AGAINST THEM. THE DETECTORS STOP THEM FROM KILLING JEWS – THAT IS WHY THEY ARE SCREAMING.

    for dovid bt:
The Rambam left notes on his life as a doctor whIch I read many years ago. He was kept VERY busy by the sultan and family, and the many who came to be treated by him.
after I rEad that report, I appreCiated the Rambam so much more when I thought about all the Torah he managed to record. HE WAS A SUPERNATURAL GENIUS !!!

    ratzon hashem discussion:
if someone eats a ham sandwich and finishes it with enjoyment, he cannot say “if Hashem did not want me to eat it, he would have startled me suddenly and it would have dropped to the floor. Therefore this act was ratzon HaShem.” How stupid this person woujld be.
BUT: anyone who reads any of the dozens of books written by participants – or historians – about the years of activity that preceded the creation of the state of Israel, [one of my favorites was “The Pledge” by Leonard Slater] must be astounded and mesmerized by the amazing “coincidents” and near miracles that combined in forming a state with almost no planes, no tanks, etc. vs. a gang of armies with air forces and tanks and well-armed soldiers. If HaShem had not wanted this state to be fashioned, all He had to do is let nature take it course.
The real QUESTION IS: WHY DID HE ALLOW IT TO OCCUR AND HELP IT ALONG WITH SO MANY “MINOR” MIRACLES? I can only surmise that he expected frum Jews to flock there in the thousands and turn it into a frum country! the problem is with OUR RATZON!!
