Charlie brown is the character in the book about this boy in England? I think he gets into mischief and it takes place during the war so they are evacuated to the country? Or is that the guy from peanuts? I know, I’m confused.
intellegentMemberyros,
rule #3:
anyone can come up with any user name they want.
If I put my username as George Bush, will you think I’m George Bush? I’m beginning to think you would.
intellegentMember“soon. when?”
in about 2 years maybe.
intellegentMemberyros,
CCS!
It’s the best camp.
You have NO idea what you missed out on.
There is a special group for ywm coffee rooms. All ages are accepted.
In order to get in, you need to write a 300 word essay on all the ins and outs of the coffee room. You need to fully understand the culture and be able to predict at least 2 out of 5 examples of threads how they will turn out 200 posts down the line.
Do you think you would get accepted?
Applications are being processed shortly so hurry up!
Okay, now everyone:
What does CCS stand for?
The winner gets….nothing.

you seem to have woken up on the wrong side this morning. You usually use a much more polite tone! Go eat some chocolate or something to get you into a better mood. 🙂
There is a lot more to Israel medina than feeling protected and being able to go to the kosel etc. There are those who say that if they never would have gotten control, the arabs would not have been provoked to do what they do and we would not have needed the army. (that is not to say that the arabs are not rotzchim. Of course they are but as you say, it wouldn’t necessarily be directed at us or at least not to such an extent.) So you might want to stick to your opinion and so will Joseph, brooklyn 19 etc but just giving you some insight to others’ opinion.
I am not being unrealistic and saying that the arabs are doing what they do solely because of zionism. They are rotzchim by nature and as brooklyn said that the last galus is galus yishmoel. But still, it makes sense that the fact that israel is run by jews, the arabs attack. They want israel too!
intellegentMemberCan everyone stop this silliness. Please don’t argue about petty things that people said on a stupid (okay, not stupid) website. PLEASE!
intellegentMembercharlie brown,
How did you guess!?!
intellegentMemberlkjhgfdsa,
ditto! Was he/she hired by ywn to challenge our knowledge, or our… forget it.
intellegentMembersqueak,
I understand. But I think your quote was unrealistic. Normal people don’t speak that way. I think everyone should chill out about how everyone else speaks and worry more about themselves. I guess that is what i meant!
As I posted on a different thread, everyone should stop taking everyone else’s comments so seriously!
intellegentMemberSJSinNYC,
I never even noticed your post!
Was it just posted?
I forgive you and will not be reading your post. I did of course go back and notice the last line but only noticed that you wrote, “you tend to have opinions…” not sure what you ended off. If I go back and find it offensive, maybe I will unforgive you. But don’t worry I’m just kidding. I forgive you.
I don’t think a/o should take anything in the coffee room personally. No one really knows eachother at all so their comments can really not be taken personally!
intellegentMemberyros,
Rule #1: 75% of posts (okay, maybe a drop less) should be read with SARCASM as your number 1 thought. In plain language, they are not serious. They’re joking. (They will not shut down the coffee room for the rest of the day.)
intellegentMemberbrooklyn19,
I may not think the world of myself but I don’t think I’m dumb (maybe not intelligent…) I pretty much know when you’re sarcastic and when not. Remember you’re not the only one around here with brains. Don’t get carried away. LOL!
intellegentMemberoomis1105,
I think it has a lot to do with how it is decorated. Don’t a lot of people make cookies in the shape of dreidels/menorahs? But I see what you mean when they look like a different version of the goyishe stuff.
(Also, where does blue and white color code come to chanuka?)
intellegentMemberoh, and welcome, just the same!
intellegentMemberlkjhgfdsa,
are you really new? I think you either are an other poster with a new name or you’ve been lurking without a user name. Don’t worry. I did the same. But you feel like an outsider eavesdropping until you have a user name. LOL!
intellegentMemberyros,
you said, “stop arguing on his age.”
I assume you were referring to brook. She is a GIRL!
intellegentMemberModerator-72,
Wow! Thanks!
I take that as a compliment! (is that complement, squeak, jk!)
You really made my day!
intellegentMemberyossiea,
didn’t he say the zohar?
intellegentMemberlkjhgfdsa,
Do you live in dnaleri?
the day is young, however, as of now, this is my vote for the post of they day. YW Moderator-72
intellegentMemberasdfghjkl
I’m beginning to think you are from tenessee or maybe kansas
intellegentMemberFeif Un
“chaimss: You obviously don’t know Joseph. He always rushes to judgment.”
What is your issue??? Do you two have something personally against e/o?
Squeak, “Instead, he should have said, ‘I wasn’t aware that there is a heter to join the military. Would you mind sharing the psak that you got with the oilem here so as to enlighten us’. To which I would reply, for your own sake please DO NOT. ” Oh please. Do you always use such language? I think not. If you would like an example, I can cut and paste but i don’t think that is necessary. I wonder how the coffee room would look if everyone would speak that way. It would probably look like this:
(that is: blank)
I hope i don’t sound like Joseph’s attorney. I have nothing with him. I just happen to get nervous from these supposedly self riteous comments and they both have to do with him. what can i do?
brooklyn19,
“Yanky55 – once they’re out there fighting yes, we need to pray for them. they’re our brothers. the same way we need to pray for female soldiers – even though it is COMPLETELY assur for a girl to join the army. but that doesn’t mean we agree with it.”
I know I’ve been making you crazy about your ego, (Hope you forgive me, but I don’t think you mind!) but I have to say, I like your point! Makes a lot of sense! Yitamu Chataim means that we don’t pray that a sinner should die but that his chataim should. So of course we daven for a soldier even if he doesn’t keep mitzvos but it doesn’t make their actions right. Just reiterating.
intellegentMemberyros,
You’ll find out soon enough!
intellegentMemberMrs. Beautiful,
that is sooooo cute! I can eat it up!
intellegentMemberbrooklyn19,
ego, self esteem, whatever. You have a really wierd way of thinking and you have a very high opinion of yourself whichever way you wanna look at it. Calm down about yourself. There are other people as great as/greater than you created in this world.
intellegentMemberyros,
You’re very new around here? HIS?
She is SUCH a girl!
kay, everyone, let’s stop inflating her incredibly swollen ego by talking about her. 🙂
intellegentMemberMrs. Beautiful
ya never know! it’s a small world… It could be he heard the joke and used it but I always thought it was his. Don’t worry, I’ll get over it even if it wasn’t his original! 🙂 LOL!
intellegentMemberI really hope it’s all shtick. I’m seriously starting to get nervous. With an attitude like yours, I don’t think you want to go out at this point. You should not feel proud of “guys being intimidated by you”. I hope this is all in jest.
intellegentMemberFeif Un,
wow! what on earth in joseph’s comment was rushing to judement? What was his verdict btw?
However, your comment….
intellegentMemberpostsemgirl,
I feel bad for him. Because most people don’t become addicted on purpose. Since he seems to be open about it, maybe he can sort of appoint someone to sort of be on top of him about it. Like lets say he says that he will not listen from 6 to 8 pm and that person should ask him if he did or not. (this is advice for anyone who has a bad habit they want to break)
Also, I at one point was getting into checking things up online that were really causing me to waste a lot of precious time and although I wasn’t going to anything terribly bad there was nothing for me to lose overthere. I now redesigned my filter that it blocks everything except for what’s on my white list. of course that sounds like a bandaid solution but sometimes a bandaid is what you need until the cut heals. once i got out of it, i lost the interest. the only way i would get back in would be to get access and now I will have a much easier time fighting my yetzer hara.
Maybe it would actually be worth it for your cousin to remove his radio! He can get an alarm clock without radio and can disconnect it from his car. Then again, it might be too drastic and he’ll look for some other way. So maybe he can remove it just from his car, or at work etc.
Of course, as with all other habits, it’s best to not get involved to begin with!
intellegentMember“While there were changes in the mesora over the years I don’t think there were any valid ones that promoted “modernising Judaism”” I don’t think
Anyway, mo does not make sense to me. it’s basically taking judaism and tweaking it to better fit into goyishe society. Basically taking the three (or at least one or two of them) things that the generation that left mitzrayim were praised for keeping and leaving them out of judaism. (yes, i know, it’s within halacha. Please!)
As Joseph says, modern orthodoxy is gonna dissapear eventually
That’s because people eventually realize that they’re not being fed the real thing. Just like reform and conservative are pretty much non-existant anymore.
intellegentMember000646
“INTELLEGENT,
But arnt you of the opinion that whatever is paskend in one tkufa is always nogeia and to say that certain aspects of halacha change with time is bordering on heresy?.”
What did I say that contradicts that?
btw, When did i state that opinion?
intellegentMemberyros
moderator 94 is not a moderator!
LOL
intellegentMemberbrooklyn19
I disagree. it’s a bad thing! >:-o
intellegentMemberMrs. Beautiful
Hey! My grandfather told that to my sister! She asked him how many of his teeth are really his and he said, “all of them. I paid for them!” Typical him! I didn’t know it was a known joke. I thought it was his original one!
intellegentMembermy my!
Are we gonna all now figure out who everyone is? Well no one will figure me out!
I hope you two won’t be too embarressed of e/o when you meet but I guess you’re both in the same boat. LOL! This is really funny!
intellegentMemberBrooklyn19 is 21, no question!
intellegentMemberbored@work,
Woohoo! Someone’s spoiled! Well, actually, my parents paid for most things for me before I got married but didn’t pay for trips to E”Y and Florida whenever I was in the mood! Actually I was supposed to go to E”Y at one point and my parents offered to pay the ticket and I’d pay the other expenses. But believe me that there are people who are expected to pay for all their clothing etc. as soon as they start working. Their parents simply can’t afford it! So be very grateful and don’t take it for granted! E”Y and Florida in one vacation!? LOL! Do you need a place to eat supper etc? Just kidding. I’d never identify myself for all the money in the world!
intellegentMemberoomis1105,
“BTW, even if the heter was “in case you cannot get Cholov Yisroel,” nevertheless if it is kosher, it is kosher.”
I do not agree!
If R’ Moshe said that the heter is if you cannot obtain cholov yisroel, then it is if you cannot obtain cholov yisroel! I don’t see why you’d be allowed to expand it to other areas!
I know I’m going backwards but your first comments cannot be compared in my opinion. Many wives are not allowed because of R’ Gershom’s cherem who lived hundreds of years ago and was a rishon! taking non-Jewish women as P.O.W…. (for not such “kosher reasons…) is in the torah and I imagine it does not apply today because we don’t have a valid army and I’m sure there are many other reasons not because someone craves hershey’s chocolate!
While there were changes in the mesora over the years I don’t think there were any valid ones that promoted “modernising Judaism” (yes, i know it’s spelled wrong). The term “Modern” is essentially up to date which connotes doing these to fit into goyishe society which we are specifically prohibited against! It is definitely a halacha because it is in the Torah so you cannot say you are practicing Halacha 100% if you are leading your life as modern, B’SHITA! That’s my opinion at least. I’m sure someone will have some explanation as to why it is perfectly fine. But then again, it’s very easy to find explanations for anything. The question is if you’re looking for them.
intellegentMemberbored@work
I live there. (actually, make that “here”.)
are you going to E”Y and florida??? how much vacation time do you have and for that matter how much $$$$$$$ do you have!?
SJSinNYC,
The yomim tovim all fell out mid-week!
oh, i guess you mean these coming yomim tovim?

intellegentMemberbrooklyn19
“lol jk it’s NOT me! i just said that this person is my secret admirer. probably. if not, he/she will be soon anyway :}”
You’re sick!
intellegentMemberBrooklyn 19,
I live in E”Y. NOt sure what’s going on in the U.S. I was there on Succos and didn’t notice them though.
Are they like those miniature police cares?
charlie brown,
I think ignorent is better (but maybe I was supposed to put an “i” there? ignorint?)
intellegentMembera totally side point that is based on oomis’ comment.
Why is it that I always thought that R’ Moshe F’s heter for chalav stam is when chalav yisroel cannot be obtained? Was I wrong or did people take his heter and generalize it to all cases?
intellegentMemberI think I’m changing my user name to ignorant.
What is a smart car?
intellegentMemberI can only try
okay, i get the basic idea. Thanks for the science discussion! (I happen to like science.)

Did you mean to replace half with apple sauce or you meant oil?
I heard of this concept before but i don’t get it, if it really works why would the recipe be oil? is there a difference in taste. Also should you put less sugar because the apple makes it sweeter, no?
