Imma613Participant
thank you for all of the mikoros, but the questions still remains. If we hold like Rashi that she was in fact three, how can we explain that Yitzchak married a toddler?
Imma613ParticipantWhat is the title of Rav Ginsberg’s book?

What most people here are saying is that a parent’s decision to or not to push ahead their child comes from a perspective of “chanoch l’naar al pi darco” not from a desire that their child should be “the best in the class”
I feel for you that people are hocking you about your son. If indeed your son is ready – socially, academically and otherwise, than be confident that you are doing what is right for your child. Try to smile and ignore your well-meaning (albeit annoying) friends.
Imma613ParticipantWhen I saw this thread it interested me immediately as I have a child who missed the cut-off date by a few weeks, but we pushed her ahead. She was just ready – socially and academically. Thank God, neither we nor she have regretted the decision. As many people have already said, it depends on the child. I’m wondering if “says who” has kids in the parsha yet (or any at all) as his/her attitude on this issue seems to me to stem from lack of experience 🙂
Just my 2 cents for what it’s worth.

what is a “German-style” strategy game, may I ask?
Imma613ParticipantI am surprised that I am the first person to point this out, but the tenor of the question which this post began with seems to be lashon haroh. Perhaps the question could be asked without “bashing” frum novels?
I’m just saying…
Imma613Participantthe new format is quite unappealing to the eye. Your headlines have shrunk to the point that they are hard to read. And no I am NOT of the generation that wants instant gratification. I just want to be able to quickly scan the headlines and read whichever articles seem interesting. With the new format I essentially don’t bother.
Imma613Participantpersonally, I don’t mind at all:-)
Imma613ParticipantOK so here’e one of my stories. This goes back quite a while…
We went canoeing on a date and we tipped over. Like three times! The guy called the shadchan after the date and said, I just came back from a date and I’m all wet!!” Nice guy but we didn’t end up married.
