ImaofthreeParticipant
Put out a glue trap with a bit of peanut butter.
ImaofthreeParticipantFar East, I don’t think that the shaddchanim only focus on the girls they can make more money from. Of course noone minds a little appreciation, but I didn’t find that they were doing it for the money at all. I have been in touch with shaddchanim who truly care and are very special people, who want to help everyone meet their beshairt. Not only their high paying customers.
Unless you are speaking from personal experience. Have you joined project nasi or enrolled your daughter?
Well I am speaking from personal experience.
March 22, 2012 12:50 am at 12:50 am in reply to: Girls High School Curriculum: Maybe all the schools need to do this #870081ImaofthreeParticipantAfter reading that article in the Jewish Press, I am going to open up a high school which will focus on making the girls look like models so they will get a shidduch.
Classes will be in hair styling, make up, fashion, and two hours of gym a day. Then instead of “wasting” twenty thousand (or more) on seminary, get a nose job, botox, and lipo instead!
ImaofthreeParticipantThere are many shaddchanim that are NOT on Project Nasi, it’s not as if Project Nasi has a monopoly on all shidduchim!
ImaofthreeParticipantIf a girl is poor, and she does not join Project Nasi, does it mean she will not get married? No, she does her hishtadlus, having bitachon that Hashem has her zivug all ready for her! What happened to Bitachon?
ImaofthreeParticipantThis is exactly what the Jewish Press wants, to publish an article that will draw negative attention to their paper. This article caused much agmas nefesh and I hope an apology will soon follow. If not, I call on all those who buy this paper or suscribe to stop buying and cancel their subscription.
ImaofthreeParticipantMaybe because you are only paying a shaddchanus fee but you are not paying for the costs and time of running the program itself.
ImaofthreeParticipantIt takes one month to get a refund.
ImaofthreeParticipantPBA, yes, I am thanking them for the one yes but also thanking them for other suggestions that did not work out.
Some days I get very sad about this whole shidduch parsha. I generally am okay but this situation can get anyone down. And on those days, I get a message from Project Nasi…how about this idea, how about this shaddchan, and I feel that I have not been forgotten about.
Some of my daughter’s friends have been in the parsha for THREE YEARS and have not had ONE SINGLE DATE YET. I wish I was kidding but sadly I am not. So I am happy that my daughter not only got one date but she has people thinking about her and working on getting her married, IY”H. I am also getting good, constructive, solid advice on an area in which I have no experience.
ImaofthreeParticipantMaking shidduchim takes alot of time and effort. It’s almost like a full time job. I feel that the shaddchanim deserve the shaddchanus.
There are those people who pay three thousand dollars for a stunning shaitel. Then there are those that pay a shadchan three thousand in shaddchanus for a wonderful Ben Torah. I guess I am one of the latter. 😉
Thank you for your good wishes oomis1105.
ImaofthreeParticipantMy girls did it and it was no big deal. the people are highly trained in drawing blood and it didn’t hurt. Mamash takes two seconds. I think they draw about two small vials of blood, not much. It is a good idea for your daughter to have it done because then the girls get busy with seminary and college. Don’t be nervous your daughter will do just fine! Hatzlocha!
ImaofthreeParticipantWhen there is a big kiddush at shul my neighbor doesn’t make choulent cause everyone comes home too stuffed. They just make kiddush and wash, a bit of fish and they are done. My husband does not eat at the kiddushim at shul because he would much rather come home and sit down like a mensch at the table and eat the seudah I prepared.
March 11, 2012 10:33 am at 10:33 am in reply to: So, what was the best Shlach Monos you got?! #858766ImaofthreeParticipantSomeone gave us a veggie platter with choumous and pretzels. Yummy and healthy.
ImaofthreeParticipantYay!!! Mazal Tov!
March 7, 2012 11:37 am at 11:37 am in reply to: Collecting Tzedaka during Davening..your opinion? #859110ImaofthreeParticipantMy husband carries a roll of quarters to shul with him (obviously not on shabbos) to give to the poor people who ask for Tzaddakah. Honestly, I would prefer them collecting at shul than coming to my door when my husband is not home.
ImaofthreeParticipantTwo hundred girls? Three years? I don’t think his system is working so great!
ImaofthreeParticipantI know how you feel. May you get a YES very soon to your beshairt!!
ImaofthreeParticipantHow about a challah cover?
ImaofthreeParticipantSpend purim and shabbos in Bnei Brok.
ImaofthreeParticipantHot pretzels? YUM! Great idea!
ImaofthreeParticipantI love home baked mishloach manos. The kugels and cakes go into my freezer and gets used. The candy goes to the cleaning lady. Only my close friends send baked stuff.
ImaofthreeParticipantBoth my daughters went to Bnos Sorah. It’s a great seminary, you will love it. Lucky you that you got in, I hear it’s very popular! hatzlocha
February 21, 2012 10:00 pm at 10:00 pm in reply to: Apropriate for older girls t o dress up??? #896942ImaofthreeParticipantI can’t stand it when people dress up in Halloween costumes (like witches) on purim! No monster costumes, please!
ImaofthreeParticipantOne of the reasons why I am not renewing my subscription.
ImaofthreeParticipantAn hour a day of exercise is plenty. Doing more could be dangerous. There was an article recently in the mishpacha magazine (I think) about a young woman who was addicted to exercise. She even exercised on Shabbos.
ImaofthreeParticipantJoin Weight Watchers!
ImaofthreeParticipantWell good thing I never show up for breakfast!
ImaofthreeParticipantBPT, I eat less when I am at a hotel than if I am home. At home I am always in the kitchen (and nibbling at this and that). At a hotel I have time to exercise and take care of myself and go to shiurim and daven. I come down for the meals and noone forces you to eat cake.
ImaofthreeParticipantHockster613, I have gone away to hotels for pesach and it was FANTASTIC! The best vacation ever!
ImaofthreeParticipantthanks Gavra!
February 2, 2012 8:07 pm at 8:07 pm in reply to: If you've read "NASI Project Responds", have you changed your mind? #848256ImaofthreeParticipantI think AZ is the head of the project Nasi, Cherry Bim.
ImaofthreeParticipantThis is why I do not give rides to women with babies. I do not have a car seat and I could get ticketed.
When I do give women rides I always tell them to buckle up.
January 31, 2012 5:56 pm at 5:56 pm in reply to: Please post healthy filling and easy to make lunches for men #1191162ImaofthreeParticipantI pack breakfast and lunch for my husband every day. A chobani greek yogurt, fruits (banana, oranges, apples) some type of granola bar or banana muffin (that I bake). A bag of cut up veggies. Sandwhich with tuna, or cheese, eggsalad, chummus, peanut butter and jelly. A bag of healthy kind of chips or popcorn.
He loves it and thanks me. 🙂
January 27, 2012 5:51 pm at 5:51 pm in reply to: If you've read "NASI Project Responds", have you changed your mind? #848210ImaofthreeParticipantIf you yourself are not doing anything about helping the shidduchim situation, don’t criticize those who are putting in their time and effort in project nasi.
For those who are complaining about the money….we spend at least twenty thousand dollars for seminary in Israel. Isn’t getting them married just as important?
thank you and have a good shabbos.
ImaofthreeParticipantSurely you can’t blame YWN for the pics of the celebrity that popped up on your computer when you googled it. I say that YWN is doing a great job and those who don’t think it’s for them can go else where.
ImaofthreeParticipantI also used to go by a different name but then I changed to Imaofthree. Noone ever noticed, oh well! 🙂
ImaofthreeParticipantBPT, I love, LOVE this!
“Starting at age 16, girls need to hear that there is no reason for them to break their heads, getting good marks, so they can get a degree, so they can support their husbands.
Next, tell them they need not rush into marraige at 19, because the quality boys are not running away. They are only getting more mature as the get into the 23-24 slot, hence better suited for the job of being a decent, appreciative husband.
Most important, is the next belief. They need to start looking for boys that have a job (or are almost done with getting their degree. Anything less, is an insult to the hard work the girls have (and continue to) put in towards getting a good carrear.
Once boys know what is expected of them, they will look for ways to achieve it. If the “admission ticket” to the dating arena means you need to be employable, you can be sure the boys will figure out a way to get in the game.
For too long, we have allowed our boys to live a double-standard, and its high time we demand from them the same accountability we do from our girls.”
ImaofthreeParticipantThis is why I made sure my daughter knew what she was going to do before she set foot on the plane to seminary.
ImaofthreeParticipantSqueak, I strongly disagree with you and your post makes no sense!
ImaofthreeParticipanthope you used plenty of mouthwash with the garlic diet! 🙂
ImaofthreeParticipantI don’t really belong here either, I am probably much older than other posters. Some topics are very interesting to me, some are not. But I like the idea that I can sometimes bring up a topic and read other people’s opinions on it. So I don’t plan on stopping to read the coffee room.
ImaofthreeParticipantSnow is pretty! Don’t worry we will get some, can’t be that we will have no snow this winter.
ImaofthreeParticipantI found cute books on the topic to read to my toddler and got the cutest video from the library for kids about using the potty. Good luck and just be very patient.
ImaofthreeParticipantMaybe she is OTD? You did the correct thing to tell her. There are so many chocolates that are kosher, wondering why she would choose a non kosher one.
ImaofthreeParticipantI thought putting chains on tires is illegal because it eats up the road.

December 26, 2011 8:27 pm at 8:27 pm in reply to: Increase in OTD Children… are made to feel like second-class citizens, #839764ImaofthreeParticipantAlways runs with scissors fast, I think what you are writing about is a very normal feeling for a baalas teshuva. Everyone goes up and down in their frumkiet, thinking how we could do better. Focus on the things that you do, don’t let the yatzer horah get you down and depressed. Thank you for sharing with us here in the coffee room and I wish you hatzlocha.
December 26, 2011 3:54 am at 3:54 am in reply to: Increase in OTD Children… are made to feel like second-class citizens, #839732ImaofthreeParticipant“In my observations, the majority of OTD children are the result of seemingly frum, but really “OTD parents”.”
Not true at all. There are many reasons why a child goes off the derech. Everyone thinks they know THE REASON.
ImaofthreeParticipantHow sad! We must daven harder for Moshiach to come.
ImaofthreeParticipantHi Crazybrit, I had ingrown toenails as a teenager and went to a podiatrist who removed the part that was ingrown but it kept coming back. So the podiatrist cortorized that part of the nail bed so it didn’t grow back. I have not had a problem since. Please don’t try to operate on yourself, go to the podiatrist and have it taken care of. feel better.
