ilovetheholylandParticipant“let me tell you I too have a thyroid problem and an incredibly slow metabolism so does that mean I should wallow in self pity and accept my face..the answer is no.”
first of all, i dont considar myself to be wallowing in self pity. and anyway, assuming you meant accept my fate, (i should hope u accept ur face..) it would mean wallowing in self pity should i choose NOT to accept it. i would always want to be what im not. that is not to say that i just sit back and let whatever happens happen. i too work like crazy, spend thousands of dollars in treatments, and excersise to no end. but every persons body is different and what works for you may not work for others. im really happy its working out for you. honest. and i hope u find urself a girl who meets all ur expectations.

“I personally am disgusted by overweight people be they man or woman. It shows recklessness on their behalf and if they are not responsible about their health which is of optimal importance who is to say they will be responsible of other endeavors. I don’t want to be involved with someone who shows such a lack of discipline ..and if I bust my you know what to be fit and healthy I can expect the same from my future wife.”
i can tell you from my personal experiance, that it has NOTHING to do with lack of discipline…..at least in my case. i have a thyroid issue and before i got it under control (which now it is, bh…) i was told by a dr. who specializes in this field that i could have been dieting to no end, (which i was…) could have been excersizing my brains out, and nothing would have helped. so before u go bashing all overweight ppl saying that they have no self discipline, or as u said, “being disgusted by them” just know that in many cases there are other factors, not just eating to much….(btw, im a very picky eater!)
ilovetheholylandParticipant“Very few fat guys demand skinny girls.”
unfortunately i find this to be a very untrue statement.
ilovetheholylandParticipantlol, pascha, i get that now….sorry! hours of pesach cleaning and cooking are taking their toll……
ilovetheholylandParticipant“Young Man: She’s a size minus 2. “

ilovetheholylandParticipanti went to seminar and semgrad is right. there is definately a bigger range in frumkeit in seminar. i dont know about the academics in nachlas but seminar is academic but EXTREMELY manageable. (im not an A student at all, and i did pretty well there.) the teachers in seminar are seriously AWESOME and they are TOTALLY approachable. nothing shocks them. there are girls from all four corners of the earth, the dorm is okay, nice lounge to relax in with a piano……pretty good food and THE BEST TIYULIM!!!!! and seriously the BEST STAFF ULL EVER FIND!!!!! also, one thing that i really LOVED about seminar was that everyone was friends with everyone else. its like one big happy family……..
ilovetheholylandParticipantCHAI LIFELINE!!!!!!!! they NEED you!!!!!
ilovetheholylandParticipanthudi, great job!!!!! couldnt have done better myself. some things i might add……
1)majority of the classes were really great, the teachers EXCELLENT!!! the teachers are there to help you. whatever you feel like you need from them, they are THERE FOR YOU!!!
2) the schedule varies from day to day, depending on what extra curricular activities are going on during that time of year, yemai iyun and vaad. but overall, there is a LOT of free time. there is more than enough time to do what you want to do.
3)as for connecting with teachers, i personally am close to a few of them and have kept in touch since i came back. as i said before, THEY ARE THERE FOR YOU.
4)what i liked:
– the staff is really open minded and whatever you need, you know you could count on them. nothing will shock them and they will help you with anything.
-there are girls from all over and i like to define seminar as a family, cuz thats what it really is in my eyes. at least our year, everyone was friends with everyone else.
– there are places to go in the dorm, a really nice lounge, with couches and a piano, dining room, etc.
I CANT THINK OF ANYTHING OFFHAND THAT I DIDNT LIKE!!!!!! its deffinately an adjustment in the beginning, but its well worth it!!! go for it!!!
