iacisrmmaParticipantTell me one good reason why I canβt find Drizzilicious in my local grocery ?
1. lack of shelf space?
2. suppliers do not stock it?
3. doesn’t know about the product?
4. Tried to sell it but it didn’t catch on?iacisrmmaParticipantLB: Did you do the obvious….speak to the store manager and ask him/her to order it?

I have never heard the story that you heard by Rabbi Frand but the story regading the milchigs kiddush on shavuous is in one of Rbbi Krohn’s maggid books as well as the artscroll biography of Reb Yaakov. I live near one of Reb Yaakov’s granddaughters and verified that the family minhag is to eat gebrokts while reb Yaakov himself did not based on the story of why he did not eat gebrokts as i saw it in the artscroll biography.

I do not know about the gebrokts story…but Reb Yaakov’s personal family minhag was to eat gebrokts as his family does to this day. He had a personal because he once found himself in someone’s house and so as not to eat the pesach food and embarass the host he said he didn’t eat gebrokts and since Reb Yaakov was an ish emes he peronally accepted the chumra. The story with his second rebbetzin concerned Reb yaakovs minhag of not eating milchigs on erev shabbos and she made a milchidegah kiddush on the first day of shavuous which that year was erev shabbos and he realized he never told her about this chumra. He had some bochurim go with him to another room where he was mattir neder so he can partake of the milchigs. I have heard from a rov from Long Island that family members verified he reaccepted this chumra afterwards.

February 19, 2019 12:24 pm at 12:24 pm in reply to: Saving shul seats, sidurrim for others not yet here #1681949iacisrmmaParticipantapushatayid: as I wrote in another thread discussing this subject, we have two charts in two different places in the shul showing the seat that are sold and those that are “open”. If a person is having a simcha, they are expected to be there before brochos and help seat their guests.
iacisrmmaParticipantREb. G. dont know if our fore fathers were “moser nefesh” when it was relativelyy easy for one to walk to his neighbors farm to milk the cow as I heard from my neighbor who was born in a polish shtetl and survived the death camps. In fact , the pri megadim paskens that if the town does not raise non kosher animals one can trust all the milk.
iacisrmmaParticipantnot all of us are “pc jews” we just go with “ad dlo yada” as explained by the ramah and only use wine.
http://hebrewbooks.org/pdfpager.aspx?req=49628&st=&pgnum=320
iacisrmmaParticipantand for what reason do you think it is assur?
iacisrmmaParticipantCTL: maybe in very large shuls or a Young israel, but not in your average shteibel where all it does is generally reserve your a seat and that’s about it. I am surprised that the OP is not being offered a seat for the year with membership. In all the local shuls in my flatbush neighborhood shul membership is bet $300 – $600/year which guarantees your seat for shabbos and yom tov with an extra fee for the yomim noraim.
iacisrmmaParticipantI love these “needle in the haystacks questions”? Are there any CR members who have children or relatives or friends who go there?

The property was in the name of the shul and the deed reads that Bais Avrahom Cong. was the seller. iacisrmmaParticipantMany early MBD recorded music was written by R’ Shlomo Carlebach. For example Vchol Maminim is R’ Shlomo’s Tov lehodos. so it is possible that it is a RCS compostion sung by MBD.

December 2, 2018 10:35 am at 10:35 am in reply to: Applesauce on latkes is better than sour cream: Prove me wrong. #1635139iacisrmmaParticipantthis is not something one can prove or disprove…on taste and smell their is no debate. Put both apple sauce and sour cream on the table in my house with the latkes and the apple sauce will go untouched while the sour cream will be finished. Why do I use sour cream…..that’s the way my mother and grandmother served it, never with applesauce.
