Frumroshr\yeshiva: Did you actually write these words and expect to be taken seriously “We need to find a mehalech somehow to avoid and circumvent the government regulations to” when most poskim are telling us not to do this for minyanim, levayos and chasunahs?

Yes it is discussed with an important caveat ” Moist rye, one of the five major grains, would most certainly pose a concern of Chometz, and some have therefore cautioned against using such mushrooms on Pesach. On the other hand, most authorities do not consider this to be a problem.”

Millhouse: Another Rov in my nieghborhood paskened like my LOR. Here is what he wrote to his kehilla
“If one has the minhag of saying Hallel on the first two nights of yom tov after ma’ariv, one can certainly do so without a bracha. If one is generally loyal to chasidisheh minhagim wherein the saying of hallel is not just for pirsumei nisa but also represents inyanei kabala then there is room for saying it with a bracha as well. ”
I grew up in a Young Israel (ashkenaz) that said hallel both nights so I cant say t’s because of Inyanei Kabala. I hope you wont mind if I follow my LOR and the other rabbanim in my neighborhood.

It is well know that R Moshe Feinstein and the Talmidim of MTJ were davening for R Aharon Kotler in the final stages of his illness, even on the day of his petirah. A bochur came in with besurah rah that R’ Aharon was niftar, R’ Moshe asked him if it was over and he was told yes. It would seem from this that R’ Moshe disagreed with R’ Shlomo Zalman.

sorry GH not acting as the “halacha police” however I was once corrected by Harav Hillel David on this very point. Like it or not once you hit the submit button you are open to any sort of criticism.

YG18: What is missing from the linked article is a time reference. Are they referring to the New York Based founder and leader of the JDL (1960’s) or the Israeli based founder of the kach party (1970”s) or as a Member of Knesset (1980’s) until he was assassinated. Many of the NY based Rabbanim only held of him when he was in EY defending the decisions of the State of Israel against the world not when he was living in the NY and heading the JDL.

IMHO, its both. Many times you have a shaddchan who is matching up two pieces of paper without knowing the individuals. We also have situations where the parents want one type of shidduch and their son or daughter want another. And yes the disposable society mentality doesnt help.I dont remember myself or my friends (we were all married between 1984 and 1990) needing “dating prep” or shidduch forums or ask the shaddchan forums. We were allowed to set up the dates ourselves without needing the shaddchan do it for us.
