It’s a sensitive topic that is has been brought up in our community recently, as a parent were obligated to teach and protect our kids. What’s sad is we have lost trust in our rabbeim and teachers b/c we don’t know who is who.
i screamMemberBeautifully written, that’s what I thought when I saw pictures of the Siyum HaShas, all of Klal Yisroel surrounded by Talmidei Chachomim. Experiencing the love of Torah as brothers.
i screamMemberAnother point that I found out today is make sure the therapist does exposure therapy it’s part of CBT or DBT Dialectical behavior therapy is another for more severe cases.
PBA please read up on the cases and some people really need therapy and rehab. some therapists are indeed capable of solving issues and rehabilitating them back to an emotionally healthy state.
As an aside a person has genetic tendencies towards a disorder or illness that can be set off by environmental triggers leading to a chemical imbalance. The brain is physical and medication is sometimes not enough to help therapy is needed too.
i screamMemberThe hurt is still fresh. Time heals. You have to move on and give it a few weeks she’ll be more willing to listen. If it has something to do with her mother try to speak to her without her mother knowing and speaking in person would be the best way.
Take care of yourself and hang out with other friends.
i screamMemberAccording to Halacha one may marry without parental consent. This is not recommended for a young bochur who is starting shidduchim. This is a parsha in which you as a parent need to make the calls and help him. Hatzlocha! I”YH he should find his besherte b’korov!
i screamMemberMatan, Good to hear, I found out more about the specifics. Will figure out how to proceed.
i screamMembertheartofmoi, thank you I have asked I always like a second opinion, I learned that in this type of field you have to be two steps ahead of the game. They’re making money $600 an evaluation for shrink, $350 per therapy session,
Plus, I’m a bit skeptical
i screamMemberGive him the green light. He sounds ready and you both won’t know until you let him start. A practice date or beshow would be a good way to get him prepared. Hatzlocha!
i screamMemberThanks, Would you know the length of sessions, and should they be scheduled after a routine checkup by the psychiatrist. How often should they be going weekly, bi-weekly. Please answer if you can help this is a serious inquiry.
i screamMemberThey claim positive results. It’s for a extremely irrational and anxious person and I hope it helps. This is part of a treatment process package. For those who are knowledgeable does the person’s age or gender make a difference?
