Let me rephrase: “Why are women more intelligent than men?”

Now we can continue discussing. 😉

Love is something that is built. It is seeing the true neshama of a person. It is seeing the great heights that this person can achieve and reach to. You are at awe of his greatness. It is the ability to see the fire burning within him. You also love someone for who they are because that is how Hashem created him, with his own positive attributes. People also use the word love too often to really know what love means. We tend to use love with the way someone looks, does, wears, etc. We shouldn’t love someone just for their physical or materialistic qualities. We should love one for their chessed, love to others, and greatness.

When we see the evil soul of a rasha and what he does, then we hate it (Hitler). We hate that this person/nation has such an evil inclination and such evil actions. We hate that such a person could reach to such a low level and we don’t ever want to understand such a position. Therefore we reject it because it is alien to us.

I don’t like to believe that we hate others because of what he did to annoy you. You don’t really “hate” him. Deep down you really love him, but because he bothered you in some way (i.e. mean comment) then you hate that action/part of the person.

I think now day’s people use the word Hate too often and have lost the true meaning of the word.

“Just because I don’t like you, it doesn’t mean I hate you”.

Wow, Wolf. So I’m guessing from all the other posts too that it’s quite relevant to marry someone thay didn’t think of.

Do people ever say, “Oh, why did I marry her/him if that is not who I really wanted?”

It’s just such a scary thought getting married and the life after marriage. I mean, just imagine leaving your parents home and now your all alone! (Well, basicly).

If you just started college and you are thinking of becoming a social worker then you should go all the way and get your masters in psychology(instead of a BA in psych which is what you need for becoming a social worker). It pays more in the end. I have no idea what are the benefits for a Paralegal.

Maybe, since you look up so much to your Rabbi but can no longer be with him any more, you could try to be like him and follow in his great ways. I am not saying that you have to become a Rabbi, but maybe you can follow in the many great things that he does. I think that this is how you can help yourself from not feeling so removed or far away from him.

    Best of luck!

I’m really interested to find out how many Sephardim make the seudat mashiach. sefardi tahor, can you please tell me where it originated since you have your mesorah for it? (And are you sure it wasn’t some influence from Lubavitch?) I’m sorry, but I never heard of it before being celebrated by Sephardim.

    Hey guys!

To answer BaalHabooze’s question, the Mimouna was celebrated motzei Shabbat/Pesach this year. It’s like a whole other party/holiday right after Pesach! Usually what is eaten at this party is Mufletas. They are like a large crepe and people add their own toppings on top. It’s delicious. (I guess we can never have too much food 😉

Guys I need help! Sorry Stamford Hilly Billy, I don’t mean to take over your thread but im in the same “mess”. What do you talk about on dates without sounding wierd? Im on my 5th date now with the same guy and all he talks about is Torah. (He is yeshivish black-hat).I like him, otherwise I wouldn’t be on my 5th date, but I feel like I don’t know him well enough yet. What kind of questions could I ask a Yeshivah guy? I feel like all yeshivah guys are the same with the same goals. (Sorry, I don’t mean to be stereotypical, I have very little experience).

I’m talking about the cross on the flags such as those from, “Australia – the Union Flag in the upper hoist quarter

    Denmark – a Scandinavian cross

Dominican Republic – a centered white cross that extends to the edges and divides the flag into four rectangles

England – the St George’s Cross

Fiji – the Union Flag in the upper hoist quarter

    Finland – a Scandinavian cross

Georgia – the “five-cross flag”; the central element of the flag is St. George’s Cross (used also in the national flag of England); there is one smaller cross within each of the four quadrants

Greece – a cross in the upper hoist corner

    Iceland – a Scandinavian cross

    Jamaica – a Saint Andrew’s Cross

Malta – a George Cross in the upper hoist corner (in the canton of the white stripe)

Moldova – in the coat of arms appearing in the center stripe, a stylized eagle is holding a cross in its beak

Montenegro – two crosses appear in the two crowns depicted in the coat of arms contained in the flag

New Zealand – the Union Flag in the upper hoist quarter

    Norway – a Scandinavian cross

Portugal – Compound cross of five quinas, each one charged with five saltire-arranged bezants

San Marino – a cross appears in the crown depicted in the coat of arms contained in the flag

Scotland – the Saint Andrew’s Cross

Serbia – cross in crown and cross in inescutcheon, both in coat of arms appearing in flag

Slovakia – double cross on top of mountain, appearing in coat of arms contained in flag

Spain – one cross in each of three crowns, as well as a cross in the fourth quarter of the shield (for Navarre), all appearing in embedded coat of arms

    Sweden – a Scandinavian cross

Switzerland – a bold, equilateral white cross in the center of the flag

Tonga – a red cross appearing as a canton of a red ensign

Tuvalu – the Union Flag in the upper hoist quarter

United Kingdom – the three crosses of the Union Flag: St. George’s Cross, St. Andrews Cross, and the Irish saltire

Vatican City – a cross on the top of the papal tiara in the coat of arms of the right side of the flag”

    I googled it 😉

Would this be a problem if one lives in any of these places and wants to hang up the flag in their room for example?

Chap Stick: see Lipstick: No supervision necessary. Unflavored only, new tube.

    Cosmetics:

Regarding any cosmetics, hair spray, soaps, shampoos, deodorant, powders (medicated, perfumed, baby, face,

foot, etc…), the opinion of the Rabbis that permits these items even without special Passover supervision, may

    be followed.

Lipstick: All unflavored which do not contain wheat or oat flour may be used on Pesach. No organic lipsticks.

Chapstick, Blistex and Chapstick cold sore therapy are acceptable without a mark.

I hope this was helpful. I got it from the J.S.O.R Pesach kosher list for 2012.

    lol Be lucky 😉

I went on a date where the guy took me to the heart of the city where I live. I was completly mortified and checking my surroundings at all times. I think that it was just a complete miracle that I didnt see anyone I knew… (unless they saw me but I didnt see them) 🙁

The guy even wanted to walk in to a store to get something and since the owner knew me I just told the guy that someone was trying to reach me and if he wouldn’t mind that I check who it was outside the store and return the call. I was so uncomfortable. I guess this will be one of those stories that I will look back and laugh, but I’m not laughing yet…

Of course it’s important! It’s what gets your brain and body functioning first thing in the morning. You also don’t feel as hungry during lunch time which is great for a light salad for example and then a nice full dinner. This is how my diet is and I feel great. My body weight is normal and I feel energized the entire day.

Breakfast- A full breakfast, for example eggs with veg. toast, cheese, cut up fruit

    Lunch- Salad

Dinner- Soup, veg., fish, potatoes, ect.

If anything, I think that eating breakfast is the most important part of the day. And I don’t mean eating cereal with milk because I dont see how that fills up anyone besides little kids.

If you want to have some variety in your dress outfits, here is what my brother did after he left. He wore polo shirts or a button down with stripes going down. He now has this new style where his button down shirts have a different pattern by the colar and cuffs. They look really cool and stylish, yet still considered “yeshivish”. Shabbat is of course black and white.

The chassidishe G. & tzaddiq- The people in the school with higher authority are very close with the principals, teachers and staff. From any angle you look at it, so and so is somehow related to so and so. So of course they wont do anything as drastic as firing anyone.

more- ok more, whatever you say.

BTGuy- I liked the idea of teaching. But once I observed the way this school discipline/treat their students, I don’t ever want to be put in that situation of having to be mean. I feel as if all these teachers or the principals (judaic and limudei chol) are all racing for the best title of “meanest/careless principal/teacher”. Why do they think that if they are percieved as mean that they are doing their job well? You don’t have to be mean to the students all the time. Im not saying not to tell a child off if he did something bad, but because maybe he was taking a little too long at the water fountain he should be sent to the office?! It just bothers me. I feel as if the school is ruining these kids and making them hate Torah (chas v’shalom).

“Why is it in yeshivos I see highly intelligent boys who are way below grade level in limud chol studies?”

ooooh. I see this ALOT in this school. And I feel so bad for these kids futures. I guess the school has no one intelligent themselves to teach these kids. Thinking back as a kid I just want to go and thank every teacher who taught me right. Thank G-d I was blessed with what I had.

mom12- the higher ups are their relatives…

BSD- “Humiliating a child goes against every school of chinuch”

Thats all what this school is about. TFor example, they tell students off in a clearly audible tone of voice infront of anyone who is around.

    Bizrizut- Exactly what you said.

Sam4321- I know what you mean.

Think first- I hear what you are saying and I want to do it. What if I mention it to the one involved in chinuch in my city without mentioning the school first and get his opinion on it? Maybe next he will visit the school…yet the school will be ready for his visit and act super sweet. (I’ve seen this done with other visitors).

I feel like I have to tell someone, but I definatly don’t want to be the one who caused this big school to close down. In other words, im scared of the consequences.
