To Kuvult (as in “Oi Kuvalt”?): You want a million Chareidim to go to Meron? Really? Maybe you are (i) a troll who wants Chareidim to die, or (ii) just plain stupid. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume (ii) is correct.

There are lots of ways to find a minyan. Chabad is not the only way, but it is a good way.
Find a Chabad center in the area, and they will find a minyan for you – or make one, if they cannot find one.
To ujm: Yes, Christianity and Islam resembled cults when founded and grew into religions. In the earliest times of Christianity, you had to be Jewish to join.

To AAQ: Your comment of April 5, at 10:21, implies that school cleaners are unworthy of your interest. What makes you think that? And what makes you think that you are worthy of my interest, other than my comments on your posts.
My first Jewish teacher in a public school made a point of teaching us that the school janitors deserved respect, including the colored one.
The 3 religions I am familiar with – the Abrahamic ones – are based on interpretations of ancient texts, as such texts have evolved over the years. There is generally lots of room for debate about the texts, and there is little hostility to differing interpretations. Cults are based on recent texts, or recent pronouncements of the cult leader. There is no room for debate, and lots of hostility to dissenters.
Thank you, coffee addict, for reviving this thread. The predictions in June 2021 were all (unless I missed one) very short of the mark. And Bibi’s prosecution is woefully slow. As for Arabs taking bribes to pull out, that has not happened. The MK who did pull out of the coalition was not bribed in the usual sense of the word, but Bibi did offer her a high spot on the Likud list and a cabinet post.

Re Hunter Biden: I have said this before, and I am saying it again: the Republicans and the Trump administration had 4 years to prosecute Hunter Biden. Nothing came of it, except, apparently, some tax crimes (which, as one of the jerk-citizens who pays my taxes, I consider serious). So shut up about Hunter Biden, or get more funding for the enforcement division of the IRS, which Republicans have opposed for many years. I don’t recall the precise numbers, but money spent on IRS enforcement yields a major jump in revenue for all of us taxpayers.

I was disappointed that the US has not allowed the sale of jets to Ukraine, but I am willing to concede that some folks in the State and Defense Department might know more than me and might be right about the current decision. I remember being sorely disappointed with the failed attempt to rescue the hostages held by Iran in 1979-80, though I was not sure whether the failure was attributable to him or the US commandos and their military superiors. Years later, I heard him give a speech, and it was clear that he was very knowledgeable about national and world affairs.

To ujm: Permit me some idle speculation. Putin knew that if he attacked Ukraine in the first (and, it turns out, only (for now)) Trump term, it would have diminished Trump’s chance of reelection, so Putin waited. If Trump had been reelected, Putin would have attacked Ukraine, and Trump would have rolled out the red carpet by not imposing any sanctions or uniting Europe against the Russian invasion. As I say, just speculatin’.
I don’t give rides to hitchhikers so they cannot rob or kill me. So far, it works. And I have never seen a buchir, or someone dressed like a buchir, hitchhiking. But I would not stop for him/her either.

To AAQ: I googled “NPR revenue.” There were several sources. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, a federal agency, is one source, state and local governments are another source. One source, Columbia Journalism Review (I believe an affiliate of Columbia University) report all government sources at about 15%, but that is the highest one I saw.
