February 9, 2023 4:30 pm at 4:30 pm in reply to: Quick Quote about Older Singles from Rabbi Zelig Pliskin #2164331hujuParticipant
To ujm: You clearly cannot read. I did not say, or suggest, that all older unmarried singles were toeva.
You, however, have said that they are, among other things, sickening. My calling you stupid is clearly an understatement. And, just to be clear, I make no judgments on toeva people. That is up to Hashem.
February 9, 2023 9:22 am at 9:22 am in reply to: Quick Quote about Older Singles from Rabbi Zelig Pliskin #2164140hujuParticipantujm’s first response to my comment is as usual, stupid. She/he is reliably consistent.
February 8, 2023 8:23 am at 8:23 am in reply to: Quick Quote about Older Singles from Rabbi Zelig Pliskin #2163759hujuParticipantDoes anyone consider the possibility that some older, unmarried people may be tova? And some of them may be in undisclosed tova relatonships.
hujuParticipantTo yuckel head: Everything tastes better with bourbon.
January 31, 2023 11:19 am at 11:19 am in reply to: How to Reduce the Cost of Getting Married #2161147hujuParticipantYou can lower cost per year by marrying younger.
January 31, 2023 11:19 am at 11:19 am in reply to: How to Reduce the Cost of Getting Married #2161146hujuParticipantTo AAQ: Porridge? Porridge? Really?
January 31, 2023 11:18 am at 11:18 am in reply to: What’s Our Response to Environmentalists. #2161142hujuParticipantThe opening poster implies that there are no conservatives who have concerns or support action – governmental or otherwise – against climate change. Is this correct?
hujuParticipantTo the OP: There is no halachic reason to capitalize “diamond engagement ring,” nor any English language rule, either.
hujuParticipantTo lakewhut: If you lie to get out of jury duty, you are committing a crime. Juries are an essential bulwark against undemocratic government. I have never served on a jury, but they keep calling me back, and I go willingly. How would you feel if Jews got an automatic exemption from jury duty? Would you take the exemption or would you serve?
hujuParticipantThe MO the merrier. That’s their real appeal.
hujuParticipantThen, of course, there is the MO track called Track 29, which takes you to Chattanooga, and you can get a shoe shine, but skip the ham and eggs in Carolina.
hujuParticipantMany of these discussions omit any reference to cost. Seminary is expensive for most frum Jews. Any meaningful evaluation must address the question of whether it is worth it, or whether there is a less costly way to achieve the benefits of seminary.
hujuParticipantThere are 7-11’s in frum neighborhoods in the Five Boros. The one with which I am familiar has a hecksher from, I think, VHQ. What is the issue in Eretz Yisrael?
hujuParticipantThe herring sold in jars is fine with me. I don’t need the aggravation of making it.
January 12, 2023 5:06 pm at 5:06 pm in reply to: why is everyone arrested called a suspect? #2155946hujuParticipantHey, Participant, your opening comment is foolish. Please participate somewhere else.
hujuParticipantTo the OP: If you are referring to the Beatles movie, I think it is still pretty good.
hujuParticipantYes, there are lots of liars in politics, but the key question for all of us us now is what we should do about the leading liar recently elected to the 118th Congress. His lies vastly outnumber the truths he has told. I say, throw him out.
January 2, 2023 1:41 pm at 1:41 pm in reply to: Bigotry: Washington Post, on Muslims’ anti-vax, choose pic of Jews #2153141hujuParticipantWhat is notable here is the persistence of Jewish anti-vaccinism.
hujuParticipantShould all Yidden who live in the United States know English?
hujuParticipantHave any commenters addressed the question of what, precisely, the US president and government can actually do to bring gas prices down? There is not much that can be done, and Biden has done them. World markets and events beyond US control are the principal causes of current gas prices. Get used to it.
December 15, 2022 10:29 am at 10:29 am in reply to: Hedonism in honor of Chanuka, to benefit Tzedaka #2147986hujuParticipantTo ubiquitin: How about learning to spell and proofread?
hujuParticipantBack in Reb Shlomo’s day, there was no internet for people to publish their unfounded notions of what is going on in the world. Hence, no shidduch crisis. And, given the growth of the frum population, there was probably no actual shidduch crisis.
Someone made a good point about the explosion of intermarriage that has been going on for 60 years. The internet has not helped to stop that.
hujuParticipantTo ujm: Well, it’s mid-November. Who gets the awards, if any?
And, by the way, is a “Democrat Rout” a gigantic win for Democrats, or a gigantic win for Republicans?
hujuParticipantI suppose I should be flattered that 4 commenters are asking me questions , but I am too tire or lazy, to give the lessons they could have gotten in Economics 101.
hujuParticipantTo AviraDa: Could you be more specific?
hujuParticipantTo lakewhut: Is there a Democratic position you would support, e.g, more taxes on persons with annual incomes over $400,000, more support for social security trust fund, et al.?
hujuParticipantTo akuperma: Exit polls have been used for over 50 years and have proved very accurate.
November 8, 2022 11:22 am at 11:22 am in reply to: Should Yeshiva Bochurim go out and vote on Tuesday’s election? #2136435hujuParticipantThe folks who tell the bochurim how to vote should also tell them when (if ever) to vote.
hujuParticipantPredictions are pointless today. And I am pleased to see that I did not post any predictions here.
hujuParticipantIf you never take a break from anything, whether it is learning, or davening, or working, it is not a sign or piety or devotion, it is a sign of mental illness.
October 28, 2022 4:11 pm at 4:11 pm in reply to: Have you ever received a traffic ticket that you did not deserve? #2133356hujuParticipantNo, never.
hujuParticipantI don’t know about Tintin, but Rin Tin Tin is going to the dogs.
hujuParticipantRe AAQ’s comment of 10/2/22, 7:59 pm: Your comment overlooks the fact that there were substantial numbers of Jews in Britain’s American colonies in the 1770’s. They were mostly from Spain and Portugal. Your comment also contains what I consider an anti-Semitic stereotype, i.e., that Jews are accountants. Jews are plenty of things (including accountants), but your comment buys into the notion that very many of us are accountants. (I do like Jackie Mason’s joke that the Jews who become accountants are not smart enough to be doctors or lawyers, but, of course, I am a lawyer.)
September 20, 2022 4:58 pm at 4:58 pm in reply to: At first I thought, what are the Libs thinking (or are they?) #2126736hujuParticipantTo Participant: Learn to spell. “Bussing” is an act of intimacy involving lips. Busing is, among other things, a cheap political stunt that uses the persons bused as political pawns.
hujuParticipantI thought this thread would be about including science, technology, engineering and math in yeshiva curricula.
hujuParticipantTo the opening poster: Always heed the words of Rabbi Ben Stern: “I told you not to be stupid, you moron.”
hujuParticipantStep one with neighbor problems: ask your neighbor nicely for relief.
August 28, 2022 7:16 pm at 7:16 pm in reply to: School District Bringing Back Spanking Unruly Students. what are your thoughts #2119271hujuParticipantHmmm. Spanking unruly students. Some schools are requiring or allowing teachers to carry guns. Maybe that makes the spanking unnecessary.
hujuParticipantSo, Zushy, you are posting something twice because it is true? Do you think everything posted only once is false?
hujuParticipantAccording to YWN, Trump had a meltdown, as evidenced by some of his recent tweets. Maybe he thinks he might be going to jail. Or maybe he agrees with me that he is going to Russia, but is getting cold feet.
hujuParticipantujm is right. Buy votes with your own money, not public money.
August 25, 2022 8:43 am at 8:43 am in reply to: what advice do u wish you’d have received when you were younger? #2118366hujuParticipantMarry for money.
hujuParticipantMaybe Trump will go to jail to visit Bannon, Giuliani and some of his other dupes.
hujuParticipantI believe that the use of street signs in English, Hebrew and Arabic (in the Roman alphabet) goes back to the time of the British Mandate, i.e., starting in 1920. Before 1920, there were few automobiles. I think that following Israel’s gaining independence in 1948, no thought was given to changing the British practice, and it works – it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
hujuParticipantTo Curuiosity: You did not answer the OP’s question.
hujuParticipantTo Curiosity: a. I have not drooled at all. I save that for babka and milk.

b. Trump is the leader of a movement, but he is, as far as I can tell, also a criminal. The movement will live on without him. Much of what you accuse left-wing politicians of is also true of Trump.hujuParticipantTo AAQ: You ask a reasonable question, and I have no evidence to inform my answer. I
nevertheless believe that Trump has done enough of what Putin asked him to do that Putin likely promised Trump a safe haven.hujuParticipantTo kuvult: I thought the give-foot-take-mile thing referred to Indigenpus Americans. It did in all those cowboys movies i
hujuParticipantI predicted , 3 or more years ago, that Trump would wind up in Russia. So, no, he’ll not go to jail but will be a convicted felon.
