Sac – pushing it off till later, i.e. Marriage, wont work. Then youll be pushing off stopping the movies till you have kids. Then youll push it off till theyre a little older. Itll never happen. Your future choson can be playing the same game as you now. Stop it NOW.

You gotta be consistent Aishes. You cant be upset at others who discriminate at BT’s, when you yourself discriminate against other BT’s.

    Charlie:

Japan has far less people on death row simply because they have far less murders in Japan. In fact, murder is almost unheard of in Japan. And that is the case, in very large part, due to Japan’s very strict death penalty.

rob: How can you say mitzvah bo baveira should not be a concern? That’s like saying a yeshiva shouldn’t turn away a donation made with stolen money! Of course a shul should make sure someone isn’t being mechallel Shabbos to come to shul.

charliehall: Considering that the reformers recruit and welcome bona fide gentiles as full fledged members, it is little wonder that their membership rolls have increased. Discount their so-called converts and children of non-Jewish mothers, and get back to us.

People have also spent 30 years in prison for a rape they were exonerated 30 years later. Perhaps we should abolish prison sentences of 10 plus years, as that can be worse than death and they can NEVER get back those 30 years falsely in prison.

The OP specifically said that. The question is, considering all the intermarriage and invalid conversions in the Reform and Conservative movements, what percent of their membership are halachicly gentiles.

The fact is, the Conservative movement is simply an offshoot of the Reform movement, begining with Zecharias Frankel and Sabato Morais, both Conservative founders originally from the Reform.

In fairness to him, he does respond to comments questioning him. Sometimes that happens a week or two later (I’ve even seen longer – he isn’t around all that much in the first place ), but he doesn’t shirk when challanged. And he has insisted he means what he says, when challanged on his sincerity.

I think it is also worth pointing out, although some here doubt him, so far I saw Mod 80, WIY, BP Totty, Jose, ICOT, mw13, sof davar, and myself find him sincere even if we might disagree with him sometimes or even often.

Read what the Gedolim have to say regarding these two treif movements. They dismiss them both for the same apikorsus gamur. We are not even allowed to cooperate with either of them in any way that gives them the illusion of an iota of legitimacy.

    RSRH:

Learning Torah all day, and doing nothing else at all, IS THE MOST productive way to serve society.

And no one should object to donors who WANT the zchus to pay the Kollel yungerleit, just like you don’t object to someone who wants to buy a baseball ticket paying those lowlife players.

Learning Torah is doing something, and not just something, but everything. AND they are keeping you and I safe, and keeping the world running. Just by sitting and learning Torah all day, and doing NOTHING ELSE.

If a book of apikorsus is written in Italian, only an Italian speakinggodol can ban it?

(I’m not alluding to any specific book.)

That most certainly is not the case.

He has a right to accept the interpertation of his trusted advisors. And who are you or I to question who a godol hador trusts. Especially since you dont know the advisor firsthand like the godol.

A godol is a godol b’yisroel; not “your” godol or “my” godol.

BTW, Rav Belsky has been the first to be moida that Rav Elyashev is his greater.

Everyone’s situation is different. What was right for her husband 20 years ago is not necessarily right for her hypothetical so today. The Rov needs to evaluate their needs and situation based on their current situation now, as he did for them 20 years ago.

    Wise Rov.
