If the curb cut is illegal, then there is NO driveway. A homeowner does NOT own the sidewalk or parking spot in front of his house anymore than a law abiding homeowner who observes the law and doesnt have an illegal curb cut owns the public property in front of his house.
HelpfulMemberIs this a new screen name of yours, or are you a new poster here?
HelpfulMemberKapusta, some things are black and white (i.e.eating pork). And even black and white issurim people here have wilfully promoted violating. When such atrocities occur here, we cry out in anguish — NO!
HelpfulMemberSo I guess the bottom line is…
If its a legal driveway, don’t block it.
If its an illegal driveway, treat it like a nice parking spot.
HelpfulMemberYou can C”V cause a miscarriage by a pregnant women if you do so and she steps on it.
HelpfulMemberOomis, boys and girls being friends with each other is an issur d’oraysa. This has been pointed out many times on this board. No posek disagrees with Rav Moshe and every other posek who addressed this issue.
Nevertheless, certain posters continue to persist in making it like its okay for boys and girls being friends, even though its been said here multiple times, with precise halachic citations, that is an issur gamur d’oraysa. Not one posek disagrees with this. Not one. Try to find ANY one on the record and let us know his name. You wont find any, period. It is a d’oraysa.
If one of those posters again play it down or make it out like its okay, we all have an obligation to scream on the top of our lungs ASSUR GAMUR D’ORAYSA! Lest any innocent reader C”V fall victim to any of those posters ramblings.
That is just an example.
HelpfulMemberMy friend’s neighbor in Boro Park got cited by the city for an illegal driveway (someone must’ve called 311) and incurred thousand? dollar fine + was required to remove it or get additional fines.
HelpfulMemberAnd what does the S”A say about people who publicly promote (i.e. on this website) issurim m’doraysa (its happened many times especially in the area of arayos) and people who publicly legitimize doing aveiros?
HelpfulMemberNo.
HelpfulMemberGavra – if you’re against the money angle, you oppose Agudah know-towing to anti-moral candidates/politicians?
HelpfulMemberCan the homeowner call a towtruck who will charge the car owner to retrieve his vehicle?
HelpfulMemberThe problem is when certain posters (whom we shall leave unnamed for the benefit of their dignity) promote outright issurim on this board, and when they are properly cited an open and shut SHULCHAN ARUCH that no one disputes, will start crying about their unnamed secret “Rabbi” who allegedly disagrees with the S”A and every posek of the past 500+ years.
HelpfulMemberThe basis of this thread and the assumptions of the OP are factually incorrect.

November 12, 2010 2:23 pm at 2:23 pm in reply to: Fathers and brothers dancing with the Kallah #709254HelpfulMemberMoq, father (or groom) isn’t strictly assur on its own. (i.e. Assuming the unlikely event that all the women would stop dancing from when the father came in’ until he left.) But brothers and others is assur.
November 12, 2010 4:47 am at 4:47 am in reply to: Fathers and brothers dancing with the Kallah #709248HelpfulMemberIt’s assur (as cited earlier.)
Nothing else to discuss.

November 9, 2010 2:42 am at 2:42 am in reply to: Sick and tired of spoiled cholov yisroel milk #708308HelpfulMemberA baal nefesh only uses CY, per Rav Moshe, since there is a tremendous spiritual benefit to a baal nefesh’s neshoma by exclusively using Cholov Yisroel.
(Thanks for the correction.)
And many posters have said here that they have no spoilage issues with CY. It is a store specific problem. Buy from stores with good refrigeration practices.
HelpfulMemberBut not every working minute in the office is billable.
HelpfulMemberThe candidate is an 18 year old college freshman.
HelpfulMemberIs not.
November 8, 2010 10:43 pm at 10:43 pm in reply to: Sick and tired of spoiled cholov yisroel milk #708304HelpfulMemberRav Moshe writes that a yirei shmayim should only use Cholov Yisroel and not stam.
November 8, 2010 10:28 pm at 10:28 pm in reply to: Parental Resposibility for Damage by Minor Child #708065HelpfulMemberThank You.
Generally everything that a wife comes into possesion of (including money and income) automatically belongs to her husband. So if she owns no pre-marital assets, is anyone legally responsible to pay for her damages?
HelpfulMemberIt isn’t stealing, even if their may be another issur.
HelpfulMemberLawgirl –
Good points. Though you mentioned having a boyfriend for a year, so we can assume you are M.O. That makes some of your other points different than Chareidi girls.
HelpfulMemberYenta:
I know it inside out. A beautiful Yiddishe marriage and large misphacha. With beautiful frum children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

I saw you there.
HelpfulMemberI know a very succesful marriage of a 55 year old widower with a 25 year old never married woman. They had 3 children. (He had 7 children beforehand as well.)
HelpfulMembergavra: who says that is the case? And even if it is, you have a kasha on that; it doesn’t change halacha.
HelpfulMembernetazar (or Homeowner) –
Please QUOTE the EXACT statement of Sacrilege you found misleading.
I see none.
November 8, 2010 3:23 am at 3:23 am in reply to: Sick and tired of spoiled cholov yisroel milk #708261HelpfulMemberThe extra few dollars cost of spoiled milk is well worth the tremendous spiritual benefits to ones neshama of exclusively using Cholov Yisroel.

November 8, 2010 2:55 am at 2:55 am in reply to: Sick and tired of spoiled cholov yisroel milk #708258HelpfulMemberThe cholov stam milks often are “Ultra Pasteurized”, which gives it a shelf life of 6 – 8 weeks, as opposed to regular pasteurized of about 10 days.
HelpfulMemberAvrohom:
Do you support outlawing abortion (except when the mother’s life/health is at stake)?
Do you support eliminating same gender “civil unions”?
Where was the yarmulka at the Sheepsead Bay civic association, when you spoke?

HelpfulMemberAnyone who wants to open their eyes and is unafraid of the unencumbered truth on this issue, should start by learning Vayoel Moshe.
HelpfulMemberInstead of complaining so much, let us all put our collective minds together and come up with a plan to de-educate these unfortunate girls from their toxic education.
Perhaps this will make a dent in the shidduch crisis for these law grads, and other presently undesirable potential wives.
HelpfulMemberBagel, cream cheese and lox.
HelpfulMembermdd, your insinuation about the Divrei Yoel, aside from being sheker, is outrageous against a godol yesod haolam.
HelpfulMemberIts true being too educated makes it hard for a girl to find a shidduch.
