July 21, 2010 11:03 am at 11:03 am in reply to: Breach in Tznius: Recent affliction attacking Klal Yisroel #1025779HelpfulMemberAnyone have constructive suggestions how we can reduce the terrible pritzus crisis in our communities, which has become our dor’s perhaps greatest nisoyon?
HelpfulMemberApy, why still cant you accept the fact that HaRav Kanievsky has said better to daven beyichidus with a hat and jacket than in a minyan without? It has been cited here already verbatim from which Sefer including page number. Check it out rather than c’v cast aspersions.
HelpfulMemberYou dont wear a talis by shachris on tisha bav.
HelpfulMemberAs a Litvak, I strongly believe there is a lot of merit to the Chasidisha dating system.
How can we go about implementing it? i.e. Bishows, etc.
HelpfulMemberDerech HaMelech: thank you for providing the source to HaRav Kanievsky’s statement that its better to daven beyichidus with a hat and jacket than in a minyan without a hat and jacket.
HelpfulMemberMax well, you are so right. Girls intuitively realize how wrong it is to hang out on the streets, as many girls have themselves commented as such on this very thread. It is good this issue is coming to the forefront.
HelpfulMemberMen can be yotzei all shittos by simply having a beard.
HelpfulMemberI sincerely doubt any lawyer would show up in court to represent his client in front of a baaser vdom judge without a jacket.
Is Hashem any less?
July 20, 2010 12:08 pm at 12:08 pm in reply to: Breach in Tznius: Recent affliction attacking Klal Yisroel #1025776HelpfulMemberThere are heteirim by chareidi rabbonim for whatever reasons to use the net. There arent any such heteirim for the NY Post or Daily News.
HelpfulMemberGoyish untznius ladies arent an excuse for Yidden.
HelpfulMemberTznius and shmiras eynayim are two distinct mitzvos. One doesnt excuse the other.
HelpfulMemberI believe the root of the problem is related to the chutzpa permiating our dor. When people think they can do whatever they want, this is the result.
July 20, 2010 12:44 am at 12:44 am in reply to: Breach in Tznius: Recent affliction attacking Klal Yisroel #1025773HelpfulMemberI wish there was a solution to the Pritzus Crisis. It would alleviate so many other problem in the klal too.
July 20, 2010 12:42 am at 12:42 am in reply to: Answering Your Summer Shailos in the Mountains #1022094HelpfulMemberHow late is it still reasonable to call Rov with a shaila?
HelpfulMemberAre tuitions generally negotiated individually, or is it more set across the board?
HelpfulMemberThe concept of one considering to enter a makom kedusha without a hat and jacket, is a difficult one to contemplate.
Really a Yid should wear a hat and jacket anywhere he goes.

HelpfulMemberThe Rabbi is sometimes powerless to stop these wanton women.
HelpfulMemberJust trying to be helpful. 🙂
HelpfulMemberWell said ef613. It is truly sad and a blight upon our communities.
HelpfulMemberIs the suggestion to close the CR and all questions be directed to a posek only, and no one offer or discuss halachic insights online?
HelpfulMemberPoppa, that likely has more to do with the fact that in BB they simply have more girls.
HelpfulMemberYossi, you are making a mistake.
HelpfulMemberHello99, sounds like your saying the Chasam Sofer (who holds only a ”close cut” per your interpretation) disagrees with the S”A (who says completely shaved, per your interpretation)? Also, are you claiming the CC & CI disagree with the S”A??
HelpfulMemberI don’t believe there is any reason to differentiate between physical and mental ailments. If either is serious they should be mentioned, if not serious perhaps not.
HelpfulMembermepal – help the rest of us. How and what did you figure it out? 🙂
HelpfulMemberSure we must better prepare our girls for marriage (we should always strive to improve in any area), but delaying them from marriage is NOT the solution. It is always best to stick with Chazal. Ideally a wife should not need a job outside the home, but that is not always practical.
August 21, 2009 9:46 pm at 9:46 pm in reply to: Budget Crisis! Bais Yaakov of Boro Park Cannot Open Yet This Year #657931HelpfulMemberanon for this – you describe it as a “problem”. Yet it works beautifully in the Chasidic communities. The only reason it isn’t more widespread, is because it is impractical to implement and enforce in non-chasidic communities. Otherwise it would (and should) be more widespread. The way the chasidim do it, is the best approach. (And they are suffering the tuition crisis to a smaller extent than others. Yes suffering, but at a lesser extent.)
HelpfulMemberestherh, great point.
I really don’t understand this freezer business. Haven’t we been getting married at young ages and with an age gap for 3000+ years? What suddenly changed? In the past Jewish history, our nation has generally gotten married younger than us today and had larger families.
HelpfulMemberareivim, he just mentioned it in the other thread. 🙂
HelpfulMembernoitallmr – its especially tender when it comes from across the pond. 🙂
HelpfulMemberGlad to be helpful. 🙂
August 20, 2009 8:42 pm at 8:42 pm in reply to: Budget Crisis! Bais Yaakov of Boro Park Cannot Open Yet This Year #657917HelpfulMemberHow do the chasidishe yeshivas manage to charge so little tuition all these past 60 years and yet remain as vibrant and growing as ever?
HelpfulMemberThanks all!
HelpfulMemberames, that is what I was afraid of. 🙂
August 20, 2009 8:30 pm at 8:30 pm in reply to: Out Of The Mailbag: Do You Know Where I Can Get a New Tire #655120HelpfulMemberPowerful and thoughtful writing, but I’m still scratching my head about the last sentence. Does that mean asking someone for help in getting a new tire is too mundane or run of the mill to talk about, with all the problems out there?
HelpfulMemberHere is one lurker who doesn’t have much to add to the conversation. 🙂
