As children of Hashem who strayed and get comfortable and perhaps only pay lip service to our connection with HIM, we sometimes need a wake up call to come back. Although it is hard to see in middle of this tragedy, ultimately it is for our benefit and put of pure love. If we don’t have a connection with Hashem our father we will be miserable in this world and the next. Therefore wr need a shaking up to put us back into the right path and connect to Hashem
