Stam -“Perhaps i’m wrong but i remember reading that there is no vaccine for scarlet fever but somehow that was eradicated”

Funny, I once came down with Scarlet Fever. So how come you claim it was eradicated? B’H nowadays we have antibiotics to treat it.

It’s unfortunate that people can post anonymously on the internet, because anyone can post anything and the gullible people will believe there is some validity to it!

dbrim – “Studies that have been conducted using time series designs (non-experimental) definitely challenge the belief (yes, it is a belief) that vaccines are effective in eradicating diseases”

Are you joking? If not, what happened to smallpox and/or polio? They just disappeared?!?

    technical20 – “a lot of people in the yeshivish community would probably say that once someone becomes a “Gadol,” it’s impossible to ever disagree with them. In fact, many would cry “?? ???? ?? ???? ??? ????? ?? ???? ?????” – “????? ???? ?? ?? ???? ???? ???? ??? ???? ???? ????”.”

Yes, I’ve heard that many times. But it’s Not so Pashut; I’ve also heard the Din of Lo Susser only applies in the times of the Bais Hamikdush!

stam a deya – “My 20 year old daughter who was vaccinated had her blood tested and long and behold, all the vaccine benefits were gone (except ofcourse the chickenpox which we didn’t give her). So what does that tell me? All of us adults are more or less NOT VACCINATED!”

So please read my post to Chance.

“So now what happened to herd immunity?”

    From Wikipedia:

“Herd immunity (also called herd effect, community immunity, population immunity, or social immunity) is a form of indirect protection from infectious disease that occurs when a large

percentage of a population has become immune to an infection, thereby providing a measure

of protection for individuals who are not immune.”

“I am neither pro or anti and am somewhat confused. But for some of you to call the anti people rotzchim etc…only shows how ignorant you are of the facts.”

Please don’t call us ignorant! We have a lot of knowledge. I constantly seek the Emmess (truth). The real Emmess comes from Hashem. Seek and you should find it.

Thank you! I think some people think that by using the word “sometimes” that we can’t figure out what they’re really saying. And the Chutzpah of some people to defend this, I can’t understand!

Chance -“I actually know they dont work because my vaccinated child got a ” vaccine preventable disease”. I wonder what he will come down with next. I guess vaccines only work in peoples mind”

Actually the reason your child got a preventable disease, is because of people like you! People like you have convinced the government that vaccines are bad. So the government has made the vaccines not as strong as they used to be!

Do you take out a loan? Remortgage your home?

Is this a normal thing to do in the yeshivish world?

And why are the parents paying for this?”

It’s easy! The other side paid for Everything. And I still don’t know – WHY!

The problem is these parents claim it’s against their religion, therefor the first thing we have to do is set them straight! Acc. to our religion these parents are Rotzchim, nothing more, nothing less.

FT – “So I have fasted on multiple occasions. I usually have 32 oz Gatorade a day two days before and day of fast. Then day after fast and right after fast same thing. I taper off of caffeinated beverages a week before. If I haven’t drank a ton of soda coffee etc, then I just stop. If not I reduce amount in half per day then go to e/o day. So if week before I wound up having two can of coke a day, I try to do 1 a day for two days, coffee based frappe two days later with no caffeine in between and nothing after.”

This is a freebee, nothing more than this! Before the fast you’re correct in cutting down on caffeine, nothing more. Also, eat a lot of carbs, but don’t stuff yer face.

“I broke this fast with bagel and schemear and ice cream plus gatorade.”
