Sam 2 – Look up – two posts.
HealthParticipantSAM 2 -“Health: If you were the PM, what would you do?”
I have 2 posts on that topic. You can post over there or you can comment over here!
HealthParticipantROB – “Health: guarantees about safety from……..France? Spain? Great Britain? the US? as if those nations who rely on these promises have fared well..”
I live in the US & I think also in those other countries are also safer than Israel!
“like the X-ians in lebanon -once upon a time protected by france”
You forgot how Israel abandoned the X-ians in Southern Lebanon for No reason. (SLA) They did Hizbollah a great favor.
“You are espousing a fantasy that would endanger all of klal yisroel”
You & the Zionists are putting Klal Yisroel in great danger! Take a look at the events recently going on in Israel.
HealthParticipantROB – “Lastly, all of you anti-zionists are living in a fantasy world. Stop living in the seventtewnth century and look around you”
Actually you Zionists are living in a Fantasy world! If the Zionists wouldn’t have done a Masseh Soton, Moshiach would have been here by now, especially after the Holocaust. Why do you think Moshiach isn’t here yet?
HealthParticipantSam – “Health: More Jews were killed in Israel than in Lebanon last week. Should we move there?”
Since you’re a YU boy, you can’t discuss Zionism with you! Are there any Jews in Lebanon? And yes there are Jews in Turkey.
The funniest thing is you Zionists never read any of my posts. I always wrote that Turkey should takeover Israel, with guarantees from other countries for Jewish safety!
HealthParticipantAvi K – “Health, the Ramban is the basis. We are REQUIRED to have a Jewish government.”
We don’t Paskin like the RAMBAN!
“Do you really think that Erdogan would be better for the Jews”
Until the Israelis did something to the Turkish ship, they had a relationship!
Where were more Jews killed last week – Israel or Turkey?!?
HealthParticipantAvi K – There is no basis to having a Jewish government, until the arrival of Moshiach. Give it back to the Turks! This will save Jewish lives, inspite of your (& others) Zionist propaganda!
HealthParticipantAvi K – So what you’re saying that the real antisemites are the British. So why did the Jews want a homeland? They should have fought that Palestine should go back to Turkey?!?
HealthParticipantMW13 – “Now, the misery of the Palestinians is such that they have nothing to lose by stabbing others”
Another liberal lie! Do your research, most of these terrorists had good jobs. This isn’t class warfare, but a religious one!
HealthParticipantSDD – “and one more thing. It’s high time they start burying terrorists in pigskin”
This is secondary. First, you must have a death penalty. They have about 10,000 Arabs in jail. If a Goy is Oiver the 7 Mitzvahs – he gets killed! Stop being so PC.
HealthParticipantMammele – “Health: exactly which part do you disagree with?”
The second part; and I posted that. I posted my reason. Your reasons are Not reasons!
HealthParticipantlesschumras- “reported that a succah in Lakewood collapsed because of the storm”
I live in Lakewood & I took my Succah down yesterday. That guy’s Succah was Posul!
HealthParticipantlesschumras- “If Joaquin does in fact head to the coast, it won’t get to the NY metro area until Sunday night or Monday. Even if it’s only a tropical storm, heavy rain and sustained winds of 40 to 50 MPH can turn a succah and its schach into deay weapons”
“And no, our MO Rav, once Joaquin was reported to be turning out to sea, did not say to dismantle succas and no one did”
At what point did you change your mind or did you flip a coin?
HealthParticipantMammele – “These are done I assume for patients, pregnant women or the elderly that know in advance that they will have significant hardship and perhaps endanger themselves by fasting yet would rather not drink — even though some may give them a heter to do so. It’s planned so actual chillul Y”T is avoided and Hatzolah members are saved from running (diving) to so many emergencies”
You got the first part right, not the second! Ya know about V’nishmartem Meod etc.?
HealthParticipantPBA – “If this guy is committing suicide, I need to be mechalel Yom Kippur to save him? I don’t agree”
Don’t be an Ipschah Mistavrah! This isn’t a case of suicide. Most people don’t know how sick they are. They should treat him even on YK!
HealthParticipantRebYidd23 – “Cats are cleaner and less smelly than human babies”
The cats that live by us clean themselves. Just yesterday I saw one doing that. Babies are meant to have s/o take of them. This is the Chessed of Hashem, to teach you the meaning of Chessed!
HealthParticipantDY – “RY23, true, you’d have to try to force it down his throat.”
You can try to convince him to drink, but you can’t Force him. If you try to “force it down his throat”, you might kill him by causing him to choke!
HealthParticipantPBA – “The guy who is subject to pikuach nefesh isn’t allowed to decide that he doesn’t want to do any issurim so someone else should do issurim instead”
Lets get it straight, you said it’s P.N., so anyone who is able to help – must! If he (the pt.) can’t or won’t, s/o else should. Many times pts. have to be restrained in order to treat them.
HealthParticipantDY – “it’s pikuach nefesh.”
Not all cases are “pikuach nefesh”, we all need fluids every day, but most of us fast anyway!
HealthParticipantPBA – “You simply let the fool die.”
I’d assume you’re joking. But there are cases that you’d be right. If the pt. wasn’t in danger until it was too late. Btw, I’ve put in lines for pts. on Erev Yom Kippur.
HealthParticipantGoldilocks – “And I’m very glad I left my sukka up for Shmini Atzeres!”
All the Henny Penny’s & MO’s took down their Sukkahs’ on Chol Ha’moed!
HealthParticipantlesschumras – (Aka Henny-Penny) – “With the approach of Hurricane Sandy in 2012”
Look at the title of this Topic. It’s Not Sandy, but Hurricane Joaquin (Wah-keen)!
HealthParticipantInstead of Lesschumrahs, how about Less Henny Penny’s?!?
HealthParticipantZd – I don’t know why you posted from R. Brander. Unless you live in Virginia or S.C.? There is no hurricane in Lakewood or NYC! This is from weather.gov. E/O stop being Henny Penny!
HealthParticipantIt’s Not a hurricane! By the time it comes here it will only be a tropical storm. I’ve been in many tropical storms over Sukkos & I never took down the Sukkah!
HealthParticipant“Men can’t live without women”
I can! And I have done so for quite a few years. Doesn’t mean I like it. It all depends on what of kind of Woman!
September 18, 2015 2:50 pm at 2:50 pm in reply to: Pre-Martial advice (for choosanim and kallahs) #1157489HealthParticipantMr. Yidd – “PostSem did not claim to be an expert.”
Her comment of “from personal experience, it is EXTREMLY important etc.”, implied that others should follow the same. Therefor, I made my comment!
“And the earlier comment seemed to imply that being a woman or a therapist makes a person’s opinions not matter”
There was No such implication! Don’t put words in my mouth!
September 17, 2015 11:57 pm at 11:57 pm in reply to: Pre-Martial advice (for choosanim and kallahs) #1157479HealthParticipantpostSem – “from personal experience, it is EXTREMLY important to have the Kallah teacher speak to the chatan or the chatan teacher, as this very personal subject can become very uncomfortable if both sides wherent taught the same information”
Your personal experience Doesn’t make you an expert! If sometimes, most of the time Not, if after the marriage there is a conflict, they should go to their Rov. Hopefully, they can agree on which one to go to. The same as which therapist to go to!
September 17, 2015 6:33 pm at 6:33 pm in reply to: Pre-Martial advice (for choosanim and kallahs) #1157470HealthParticipantIf you notice – the only ones pro-marital therapy before marriage is the shrink & the women posters. The only recommendation, I’d make is to read Sarah Radcliff’s books beforehand, but it’s Not necessary!
September 17, 2015 5:36 am at 5:36 am in reply to: Pre-Martial advice (for choosanim and kallahs) #1157466HealthParticipantTLIK – “Couples need to have an approach to marriage that is much deeper than friendship. A shocking percentage of madrichim spend no time on this subject. Love should be a major discussion, not a passing mention. Expressing affection should also be addressed directly and openly”
It’s absolutely Not necessary. Most people get the hang of it. And besides, if e/o got the hang of it & there was no exceptions, you’d be out of a job (Mr. Shrink)!
HealthParticipantI like all the opinions from the know-it-alls. Was anybody here ever married?
HealthParticipantAbba -S – “As to what am I doing about the poor besides giving free advice, if one comes to my shul collecting I give them a dollar like everyone else.”
That’s way Not enough! I’m Not qualified to give you Free advice, like you are, of how to give Tzdaka. I’d advise you to ask your Rov or Rabbi.
HealthParticipantAbba_S – “Are there poor people? Yes”
So what are you doing about them? Besides giving your Free advice!
HealthParticipantSam2- “Why do you assume people aren’t doing Tshuvah?”
See my latest post on vaccinations! People are sending kids to schools who aren’t vaccinated.
September 7, 2015 6:26 pm at 6:26 pm in reply to: Letter from Rabbonim that Schools Must Accept Non-Vaccinated Children #1099425HealthParticipantI’m Not a Poisek, but when Kanarek asked the Shaila, he left out vital info. I don’t know for sure he left out this info, but this is the way it seems. Acc. to R’ Dunner, the reason of the P’sak was because it’s a remote a possibility. Did Kanarek mention these cases & still R’ Chaim Paskened the way he did? Here are the cases:
“Update On Measles Outbreak In Frum Community In NYC – See more at: http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/general/171304/update-on-measles-outbreak-in-frum-community-in-nyc.html”
“Study: Mumps Outbreak In Orthodox Community Traced To Face-to-face Schooling”
“Israel: Health Ministry Bracing to Contain Measles Breakout”
I don’t think he did. I think the P’sak would be – letting these kids into schools, would be a Sofek of Ritzchecha!
September 7, 2015 2:45 pm at 2:45 pm in reply to: Letter from Rabbonim that Schools Must Accept Non-Vaccinated Children #1099424HealthParticipantapushatayid -“Can we go back to “the letter” for a moment? what does it say? does anyone know where one can read the text of this letter? i like reading things for myself. Id rather see for myself what it actually says on the paper that reading what others claim is written on the paper.”
I actually searched around on the web & found the letter from the 3 Rabbis. It was based on the Psak of R’ Chaim. I also found a letter from R’ Dunner, which says the “Vaccinated” kids should be kept out of school! More on this soon.
HealthParticipantAbba_S – “Health -I hope you mean that after all your expenses you didn’t have $100 to put away because it could be interpreted to mean that you didn’t earn $100. per month or $1,200.00 per year. Even if you are on SSI they give more than that.”
I meant what I said. Not e/o gets SSI!
“What you need to do is a Cheshburn HaNefesh”
I think you need to! Do you believe there is No such thing as a poor person???
HealthParticipantFirst of all, I agree with Joe. Second of all, I agree with Mrs. fat wife.
HealthParticipantAbba_S – “Health -If you put away $100 per month into a long term high yielding mutual fund over 20 years, you should have more than enough to cover it.”
I sometimes never had $100, let alone to put it away! When it came to make a Chasunah, the other side paid for almost everything. I believe that Hashem is in charge of Parnasah, so He would not leave me hanging!
HealthParticipantmiritchka -“This particular subject scares me to no end. Although my children are not anywhere near shidduch age yet, its a scary thought.”
How is it SCARY?!? “It’s easy! The other side paid for Everything.” Have B’tochon in Hashem.
HealthParticipantJoe – “It has been far from uncommon to hear people crying during davening”
I hope people are crying that they didn’t vaccinate their kids & sent them to school anyway!
HealthParticipantSyag Lchochma – “My son has one on the back of his hand. I don’t think its called a tattoo when its an actual piece of the pencil and not its markings.”
He was talking about tattoos of pencil markings.
“My son has one on the back of his hand.”
Go to the ER, pediatrician, surgeon & have them remove the piece!
HealthParticipant“Are there any specific safety tips to prevent ink and pencil tattoos?”
You sharpen them, not the kids!
September 2, 2015 3:43 pm at 3:43 pm in reply to: Letter from Rabbonim that Schools Must Accept Non-Vaccinated Children #1099418HealthParticipantShomer Pissayim Hashem. But what about the kids in schools who are Vaccinated – which isn’t foolproof?!?
HealthParticipantAleen1 -“I heard this story from someone who claimed that it was a famous, well known, and true maaseh. However after a relatively thorough investigation I have not found any sources for it. Can someone please provide details to prove its authenticity?
Lo and behold it was a success”
It wasn’t a total success! The boy was an infant & he had a tumor in the brain. The Chazon Ish drew a diagram of how to do the surgery. The doc messed up, but it was basically the way of the godol. He was left with a dermatological disease & he didn’t have an ear. He was able to get married & have kids. I knew him and one of his sons. He worked for BMG, but eventually he succumbed to the brain tumor.
September 1, 2015 4:44 am at 4:44 am in reply to: Letter from Rabbonim that Schools Must Accept Non-Vaccinated Children #1099368HealthParticipantStam – The prob I have with you is Not your defense of nutritional medicine or that your Anti-Vax. But how could you defend kids coming to School – Unvaccinated?
August 31, 2015 9:37 pm at 9:37 pm in reply to: Letter from Rabbonim that Schools Must Accept Non-Vaccinated Children #1099347HealthParticipantstam a deya -“Health, Who am i to pasken about kids getting let into school if all the gedolim and roshei yeshivos paskened that they should.”
I asked your opinion, not your P’sak. This is an opinion site, which you constantly post on!
“If you are not worried about the janitors and teachers and cooks etc… who are not immunized, why should you be worried about the kids”
How do you know that they’re Not immunized? Don’t make statements unless you bring proof!
August 31, 2015 5:40 pm at 5:40 pm in reply to: Letter from Rabbonim that Schools Must Accept Non-Vaccinated Children #1099339HealthParticipantstam a deya – Let me tell you something – this topic isn’t about pro or con Vaccines, just about accepting kids who aren’t Vaxxed into schools. I don’t think you mentioned your opinion!
August 31, 2015 3:52 pm at 3:52 pm in reply to: Letter from Rabbonim that Schools Must Accept Non-Vaccinated Children #1099333HealthParticipantnishtdayngesheft – “And I have trusted the lives of myself and family, literally, to both the advice of this organization and to Dr. Eilenberg.
Further to the point, I have never heard say not to vaccinate, he certainly never gave that advice to me for my family. Not does it sound like something he would say, based on on my experiences with him. I might believe that he would say that it is not insane for a parent to make such a decision.”
So that’s Very Nice! What does this have to do with the topic of accepting kids who aren’t Vaxxed? There are people, including me, that believe to accept these kids will promote passing diseases on other kids, even ones that are Vaxxed!
August 31, 2015 2:02 am at 2:02 am in reply to: Letter from Rabbonim that Schools Must Accept Non-Vaccinated Children #1099325HealthParticipantNisht -“Not to knock Dr Schanik, who is also a special person, but he spends very little time with his patients. A very different approach from Dr Eilenberg.”
Btw, I used a different pediatrician than Shanik. He ain’t the only one!
“Bottom line, Dr Eilinberg is not just a doctor, he is one of the gedolim of pediatrics”
Prove it! Look he just came here from Flatbush. Idk whether he’s good or not. So tell me how many peer-reviewed articles did he publish?!?
