WtP -“Even if the kids or ex turns their lives into a living nightmare, if the father is truly supportive of his new wife and they can build a strong marriage, they can survive the nightmare”
That’s funny! You’re implying that only after that there’s another woman involved will things turn sour! I got news for you, you obviously have never been divorced, things can only get better if the father gets remarried.
Well, do you have s/o for me?

Obviously you’re not a lawyer! Let me tell you a secret – there are millions of dead beat dads. All they do is move to a different state.
And even if they don’t move, they can stay out of jail – if they prove that they are indigent.
I just hope that no one listens to advice given in an anonymous blog!
HealthParticipantAbba-S -“Claims of abuse in my opinion are usually false”
I think that the other posters are referring to psychological abuse, not just physical abuse!
That’s where your confusion is.
HealthParticipantLU -“When someone stops being Frum, I think it is usually because there was a problem in the marriage and not the other way around. I remember one time there was a guy I checked out whose wife had stopped being Frum when the marriage went bad. The wife was bt, and a friend of mine made a very good point – As a baalas teshuva, when her marriage failed, all she had left was her family of origin, so the natural thing for her to do was to go back to her family.”
I disagree! IDK who you’re talking about, but I know of a case almost the same. It might even be the same case – who knows?!?
The case I know about is that they had an average marriage and her friend(s) destroyed it. Then she went OTD!
The point is that e/o has a hard time finding out the truth!
One can never find out the truth, unless you dig under every stone!
Here’s another case:
“There was a guy who was redt to me whose wife divorced him while she was expecting her ninth kid. When I looked into it, I found out that he had been physically abusive. I was like, oh yeah, that makes sense, why else would someone get divorced while expecting their ninth?”
I know of a similar case, but it was only during the first pregnancy.
The woman wanted to hurt the baby in her stomach. Don’t ask me how.
Needless to say, he reacted with violence. They got divorced.
There’s so much lying when it comes to Shidduchim, it’s definitely a miracle that anybody gets married and is able to stay married!
HealthParticipantshebbesonian-“@Health
“A person shouldn’t buy fancy clothing, whether they can afford it or not!”
Strongly disagree. A person should buy fancy clothing, within their means, and wear it on Shabbos and Yom Tov.”
I obviously wasn’t talking when it’s a Mitzvah to buy things!
“All expenses have to be divided equally”
“I disagree again. Why should I spend more on myself just to make the expenses equal, when I am more than happy to make do with less and use the extra money to spend on my spouse and children?”
Again I was talking about – when both parties are in disagreement!
HealthParticipantWtP -“Metabolic disorders like PCOS can affect fertility”
Unfortunately, a lot of people aren’t interested in dealing with their health! So a lot of women just get married and then when they have problems like infertility, then they deal with it.
The problem with this approach is that it takes years to deal with the problems!
December 2, 2016 1:35 am at 1:35 am in reply to: Dating with a divorced guy – when should I ask about his divorce? #1197018HealthParticipantMeno -“Maybe he posts in the Coffee Room and he’ll respond here”
If he does, one thing I can tell you – it’s not me!
HealthParticipantLenny1970 -“We were planning on a 50/50 split”
The only way you’ll get that amount is in a court of law.
Once you’re going to court, her lawyer will tell her to demand child support & alimony.
People like you – think that it’s a one time deal.
I’ve been fighting for over 6 years now!
Take my advice – do what you can to save your marriage!
HealthParticipantMA -“more money then they could afford for more fancy clothing?”
A person shouldn’t buy fancy clothing, whether they can afford it or not!
IDK, if you’re married or not, but the implication is that she’s asking her husband for money for clothing. All expenses have to be divided equally, after that they can split up the extra money whether it’s for her to buy fancy stuff or for him to buy golf clubs! (I actually am not into golf.)
HealthParticipantAbba-S -“According to Jewish Law the wife is only entitled to the Ketubah which is somewhere between $50,000 to $75,000.”
Unfortunately, most go to civil court along with giving a Get.
In civil court, not only do they figure out the child support and the alimony (if she’s entitled) according to how much you make, but they can also include how much you can also potentially make!
This can make a person to become broke!
Yet another reason why not to get divorced!
HealthParticipantLU -“Even though there was damage to property, … That is called a warning”
Every punishment is also a warning!
HealthParticipantMA -“because in the spoiled generation we are living in today, many husbands treat their spouses as servants & not like wives like they should be respected”
Because in the spoiled generation we are living in today, many wives treat their spouses as servants & not like husbands – like they should be respected!
HealthParticipantSDD -“Banning Syrian Refugees From the US”
They should ban Somalis from coming here also!
HealthParticipantLU -“In terms of any physical damage, we have to believe that whatever happened was min haShamayim, period!”
“Boruch Hashem! maybe this was just meant as a warning. So let’s continue working on Torah & Mitzvos, so we won’t need a follow-up warning,”
So why do you say it was just a warning? Obviously it wasn’t!
HealthParticipantLU -“I think a certain Gadol may have said that it is in that zchus that they have protection from Hashem”
Well I think that they did. I don’t think anyone was killed in the fires!
But a lot of physical damage.
Using soldiers with rakes and shovels, along with bulldozers would have prevented some of the damage!
HealthParticipantLU -“However, I don’t think that being overweight means that you have to marry a smoker.”
I’m fat, but I won’t marry a female smoker, unless she’d quit before the marriage!
HealthParticipantAvi K -“Health, who is the average frum person?”
S/O who’s Shomer Shabbos.
HealthParticipantMatan1 & Sam2 -“Health, you cant hide behind “Daas Torah”, with out telling us which gedolim back your views.
Even if you believe that nobody will change their opinions, it is still your responsibility to name the Rabbis who support your ideas.”
Health: If you would quote a Rav or Rosh Yeshivah and someone could verify that statement, I’m pretty sure that person would retract his claim that you don’t have any serious Torah scholars on your side”
What Gedolim do you have? The same as Avi K? “Rav Dov Lior, Rav Nahum Rabinowitz, Rav Shmuel Eliahu.”
Even though, I’m sure that they are respected Rabbis, but I don’t think that average Frum person would consider them Gedolim!
HealthParticipantMW13 -“Because otherwise you lose all of your credibilty and nobody will take you seriously. I can’t believe that I have to explain that to you”
First of all, I don’t think anybody takes anyone seriously in the CR!
Secondly, if I would – would you change your beliefs?!?
HealthParticipantHuju -“And you could have written, in the active voice, that your grandmother taught (or told) you to find a pretty wife.”
Well, do you have one for me?!?
HealthParticipantLU -“All Jews do Mitzvos, whatever label you want to give them”
“Additionally, according to the Alshich, in E”Y, hishtadlus IS Torah & Mitzvos”
My understanding is that if you want protection that you can consider Hishtadlus, the minimum of being Frum is Shomer Shabbos!
HealthParticipantTM -“And can you please stop ending every sentence with an exclamation point”
No, I won’t!!!
“Frumkeit in E”Y is not a black and white thing. It’s not our job to label people.”
edit
I was going with the normal definition of Shomer Shabbos or Not!
Health, people are complaining about the way you speak to them. I will delete any name calling when I catch it, and I can either rewrite your posts less venomously, or you can. Your choice.
HealthParticipantAvi K -“Health, not naming them is suspicious”
And who are your Gedolim?
Don’t tell me Rav Kook, because he hasn’t been alive for many years!
HealthParticipantLU -“Additionally, according to the Alshich, in E”Y, hishtadlus IS Torah & Mitzvos”
I agree! I hate to inform you, but most of Israel is Not Frum!
HealthParticipantLightbrite -“armchair captain”
Put your money where your mouth is!
Pay for my flight and salary and I won’t be an armchair captain.
I’d go there myself.
HealthParticipantEven a fat guy will say No!
HealthParticipantMW13 -“Name them”
Why should I? Because you say so?!?
HealthParticipantAbba_S -“Using untrained soldiers is a recipe for disaster, even trained firefighter can be killed if the wind shifts. How many Jewish soldiers will have to die until you see the futility of it.”
I’m tired of arguing with you! It would take only few hours to train the soldiers. It’s not really dangerous as long as there’s a professional in charge. They don’t have to be close to the fire to make a fire line.
Aircraft won’t work because of the wind!
But I give you credit, you’re very persistent
HealthParticipant127 – “Warning: non constructive posts will be deleted”
I hardly ever see constructive posts in any topic.
Why did you pick on me?
And a lot of my post was constructive.
HealthParticipantAY -“Just to reiterate, no gadol in E.Y. holds of making ANY kind of deal that would hand sovereignty (i.e., security control) to any Arab entity or Moslem state”
Stop with your childish posting! Why would a Godol be asked such a question?
They only deal in reality, not the hypothetical!
When and if the Israeli leaders decide such a thing, then we can ask a Shailah.
HealthParticipantAbba_S -“I think it would be a waste of manpower to call the IDF up to fight forest fires with a shovel unless they are trained to do it.”
Sam2 -“Fighting fires has progressed since the 19th century Great Plains”
I’m beginning to wonder are a lot of Jews – know-it-alls, just like you two?!?
Why don’t you learn from people that do know what they’re talking about before commenting?!?
Here’s a quote from the Website called Wildland Fires:
“What types of airplanes and helicopters are used to put out fires?”
HealthParticipantSam2 -“I’m fine with calling out Obama for these things, but pretending like Trump hasn’t done worse in this area is just foolish.”
No, he hasn’t! You don’t even bother to read my post before you reply!
Stop talking about what Trump should have done, and start talking about what Obama has actually done!
Here it is again – in spite of your denial:
“On the 2008 Obama campaign website (H/T moonbattery.com) there was a profile on the radical group along with a picture of their symbol.”
HealthParticipantAbba_S -“I think it would be a waste of manpower to call the IDF up to fight forest fires with a shovel unless they are trained to do it.”
Actually they would stop the vast destruction!
Have you read the news – they declared a State of Emergency?!?
“Rather have the air force drop rubber bladder full of water on the fires They can also reconfigure the Hercules air plane so that they can suck up water while flying just a few feet above the Mediterranean and then dump it on the fire.”
They are already doing that and got other countries to pitch in.
It’s not enough!
“They can also have the air force dump sand on the fires using transport air craft.”
Sounds like a novel idea, but I doubt it would work!
“I am not a expert in either fighting fires or fighting wars but this seems to be a simple solution to this problem”
But I am an expert in a few things, and one of them is fire safety.
Use bulldozers and shovels and make fire lines! Make sure that the line is big enough so the fire can’t jump over!
HealthParticipantSam2 -“Health: Why do you find it “much more disconcerting”? If you assume the situations are similar, it should be equally disconcerting.”
Because it’s Not equal! President-elect Trump and members of his family have been pressured by the liberal media to denounce the far- right groups. And they did!
“Finding Black Panthers “much more disconcerting” than Neo-Nazis and the KKK seems, well, misguided at absolute best.”
Stop misconstruing what I wrote! This is what I wrote:
“I find it much more disconcerting that Obama…”
The reason I wrote that – is because Obama openly supported the Black Panthers!
From a conservative website:
“On the 2008 Obama campaign website there was a profile on the radical group along with a picture of their symbol.
The fact that our president would openly support this group in public, much less associate with them on a campaign website, is beyond comprehension.”
HealthParticipantAY -“I suggest consulting with some gedolei Torah and find out their opinion before expressing your ideas”
My opinions are based on the Daas Torah that I was taught!
You could have different Gedolim, but don’t negate my opinions because you were taught differently!
It’s very childish to say – I should go to speak to your Gedolim, because there can’t be Gedolim that can disagree!
HealthParticipantAvi K -“did you ever hear of Djemal Pasha?”
No, but I looked it up. He liked killing Arabs & Armenians.
He was assassinated by Armenians.
What’s your point?
Did you ever hear of Dr. Yaakov Yisrael Dehan?
And who killed him?!?
HealthParticipantAvi K -“he is a member of the armchair club along with generals who never served in any army and maybe don’t even know what end the bullet comes out”
I definitely wouldn’t serve in the IDF. It’s Osser Gommer!
HealthParticipantYY -“Since you have such expertise on how to fight fires, why don’t you hop on the next plane to Israel and volunteer your services?”
I knew s/o would criticize!
You’re only an expert when it comes to politics!
Didn’t you say e/o should vote for Hillary or that Hillary was going to win?!?
Anyways go back and read my post – I wrote “Take thousands of soldiers etc…”; I’m one guy, not thousands!
HealthParticipantSL -“saying the word Israel is not zionist propaganda.”
I didn’t say it was!
Reread my post. This is:
“given to turkey. Which would put them all at risk of death”
“Telling posters not to wish a country filled with Jews to be handed to a ruler who hates us is not zionist propaganda”
He didn’t hate us until Israeli forces attacked Turkey’s ship.
Now they made peace. Giving them the land, with some other countries security, is a better way than constantly fighting the Goyim!
HealthParticipantSL -“and thereby all it’s inhabitants – is given to turkey. Which would put them all at risk of death”
Stop with the Zionist propaganda!
I got news for you – Jews got along with the Goyim in EY under Ottoman (Turkey) Rule!
It’s not until Zionism reared its’ ugly head, did Jews become target practice!!!
HealthParticipantLU -“That’s so nice of you to think of her.”
Are you her, with a different SN?
HealthParticipantLU -“Health – it is really assur to say the things that you are saying. You are speaking badly about Am Yisrael to goyim and telling them that (some) anti-Semitism is legitimate. That is both assur and very dangerous!”
Stop legitimizing Israel! Stop equating Israel with the Frum Yidden that live there! I’m only saying that we can’t say what we want because we’re in Golus!
We should not be adding fuel to their fire, when it comes to Antisemitism!
HealthParticipantSL -“You said when Israel is given to turkey.”
I said that because Turkey doesn’t stop Religious Jews from practicing their religion!
Do you really think that Israel has freedom of religion?
How about the Draft requirements?!?
HealthParticipantAvi K -“1. Do you really want us to be under Erdogan?”
No, I don’t! Do you really want to live in a “Jewish” country that hates the Torah?
HealthParticipantMw13 -“However, the launching of Trump’s Nationalist-Populist movement has both energized and popularized the “White Nationalism” movement of the “Alt-Right””
I find it much more disconcerting that Obama is behind the black lives matter movement! I think that – that organization is just a “repackaging” of the Black Panther’s movement!
HealthParticipant29 -“mw13, any reason for all the cut and pasting of articles?”
He’s a liberal & liberals don’t think for themselves!
HealthParticipantLU -“It’s important to distinguish between the government and Eretz Yisrael. They are two separate things”
So therefore? You’re the only one who brought up EY!
“That has absolutely NOTHING to do with the antizionism of Antisemites who are anti-Zionist because they hate Jews and it is a Jewish State.”
You make statements that aren’t true! I made it clear in the other topic, that some Antisemitism is based on things that were said in Israel against all Goyim!
HealthParticipantSL -“to hand a country filled with jewish people to a government that wants them dead?!”
Stop with the dramatics to make your point!
I don’t think Israel would make diplomatic relations, that they just did, with a country out to destroy every last one of them!
HealthParticipantcatch yourself -“I find it amazing that people can be so blind.”
Well said! The reason I post the way I do – is because Israel’s government is secular!
Now the Zionists will counter it’s becoming Frummer. This is true in the Knesset. But the final word is in their Supreme Court!
Until the final word is a Bais Din, with all types of Frum, not just MO, I won’t support the country called Israel!
HealthParticipantAvi K -“So stop writing anti-Israel diatribes.”
I’ll stop when Israel is given to Turkey! I had many discussions with you & other Zionists here on YWN.
Don’t you want Moshiach to come sooner, than later?!?
