WtP – What didn’t you understand? The latest treatment for PANDAS is what I posted!
Although there are some practioners that aren’t up on the latest.
Only treat with antibiotics – if there is an acute infection!HealthParticipantDY -“And worth every penny!”
Are you one of these guys/gals when your kids’ ear hurts you run to your local Health Nut?!?
HealthParticipantWtP -“involves weeks of strong antibiotics.”
A freebie!
Wrong! The treatment of PANDAS is antibiotics – only if the kid has an acute infection; eg. throat culture is positive.
Otherwise treat with CBT and SSRI’s or other psychiatric medications.HealthParticipantRandom3x -“The condition that prompted the prescription may end,
putting an end to the legal acquisition of the drug as well.”Read my previous post.
“(Who says that all problems must be someone’s fault?)”
NYC with their lawsuit against Big Pharm companies!
HealthParticipantYidd23 -“Health, absolutely necessary drugs still run the risk of addiction.”
True. But real medical professionals will deal with that too!
HealthParticipantYehudaYona -“Akuperma, the argument the various states and municipalities are making is similar to the argument that was made against big tobacco: they’re peddling dangerous goods under false pretenses. People typically get hooked on opioids that are prescribed for pain. They may turn to illegal ones when they can’t get them legitimately, but in most cases, the drugs that got them hooked were produced by big pharma and sold legitimately”
Where did you learn to be a spokesman for the Libs?!?
Most medical professionals only prescribe narcs when it is absolutely necessary.
In such cases they will continue to get the narcs from their doctor. NO Need to get them illegally!January 21, 2018 12:14 am at 12:14 am in reply to: Is the Meningitis vaccination required for boys living in Yeshiva dorms? #1453302HealthParticipantUncle Ben – Unless you follow his/her’s advice of -“just don’t bother sending your kids to school”, in this case he/she is correct; no matter what Psak you happened to get!

There are Rabbonim who hold that you don’t have to get vaccinated. Because there are risks involved.
I personally hold of most vaccines.January 17, 2018 11:26 pm at 11:26 pm in reply to: Is the Meningitis vaccination required for boys living in Yeshiva dorms? #1451845HealthParticipantArielski -“What is the halacha on vaccinations?”

It’s very sad that you didn’t begin to understand my point!
HealthParticipantGodolhador -” but there is any oxymoron about being a “gadol” and giving the Trumpkopf a blanket endorsement. in any language”
And you think calling yourself “GODOLHADORAH” on YWN, makes you one?!?
HealthParticipantNC -“Rubashkin.”
I think he’s a Godol in Achdus. All the others mentioned are Gedolim in their own right.
I personally think that the most Chushuv in our generation is the Kaliver Rebbe.
He spoke in English to give Hakoras Hatov to Pres. Trump!December 24, 2017 9:19 pm at 9:19 pm in reply to: How can people live in America? It’s so scary and dangerous there #1435640HealthParticipantRabbi of Crawley -“Armed robberies, murders, mass shootings.”

Stop with your dishonesty! Weicker left the Republican party. He espoused more democratic party lines than republican ones.

The states that have the most real estate taxes are because of the democrats. All democrats know is to spend other peoples’ money. For the best protection, make sure all smoke alarms are interconnected.”HealthParticipantWtP -“I think it is pretty safe, and I’m pretty paranoid about fire. I wonder what fire safety experts would say about our arrangements”
It’s pretty safe. But I think you don’t need to go that far. I don’t go to sleep until all the Licht are out.
HealthParticipant2qwerty – “Can we come up with fireproof plan b. How can we help people to make sure that they are doing it right?”
Btw, I like your SN, it’s easy to type.
E/O should take a fire safety course!HealthParticipantloweryourtuition -“Electrical fires are known to erupt and engulf a house in flames in just minutes.”
One of my knowledge areas is fire prevention (of course medicine also).
That said – Almost All Fires Are Preventable – Including electrical ones!

WRONG Again!

WRONG!
He lost because moderate Republicans don’t trust him.

I guess you Missed my previous post:
““To prevent most cardiac problems, e/o should monitor their lipid levels on a yearly basis.”
“Only if the first time it was elevated”
Maybe you need an eye doc?!?If you have an elevated level – ask your PCP. Because some will recommend earlier than a year for a recheck.
HealthParticipantUbiq -“sure particularly labcorp and pfizer. Though that doesnt mean it is whats best for the patient.”
When I wrote Most I was referring to these:
“American College of Cardiology (ACC)/American Heart Association(AHA)
National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI)
American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE)
National Lipid Association (NLA}”
Not Labcorp or Pfizer!“Just beacuse people do it doestn mean it isa good idea.”
That’s your opinion.
From the same NIH article:
“Sixty percent felt that the information on the Internet was the “same as” or “better than” information from their doctors.”HealthParticipantUbiq -“havent checked most societies guidelines”
That’s Not my problem!
“The USPSTf includes all the socities you mention in their evaluation”
Most don’t agree with the USPSTF.
“(as an aisde for example the ACC doesnt recommend screening over age 75 so still not “everyone”)”
There are others that say into the 80’s.
But when s/o uses the word “Everyone”, it doesn’t mean 100%!“bottom line get medical advice from your doctor not the internet”
NOT TRUE!
From NIH research:
“53.5% (274) stated that they used the Internet for medical information.”HealthParticipantUbiq -“Though even for Adults With no risk factors, there is no proven benefit in screening”
Look you’re confusing the lay people here!
Most societies say you should start screening at 20 y/o!
I’ll name them:
“American College of Cardiology (ACC)/American Heart Association(AHA)
National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI)
American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE)
National Lipid Association (NLA}”HealthParticipantUbiq -““everyone” ? Do you have a source for that?”
From labtestsonline:
“In an effort to get an earlier start on cardiovascular prevention, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) released a new guideline in 2011 that included the recommendation that children get routine screening with tests for lipids, including cholesterol. ”“To prevent most cardiac problems, e/o should monitor their lipid levels on a yearly basis.”
Only if the first time it was elevated./HealthParticipantDoes anyone in the CR get yearly lipid testing?

HealthParticipantPt -” I’m bleeding GREEN!”
According to two posters above – he must be a VULCAN!
HealthParticipantRG -“for a blue one”
The veins only appear blue through the skin. The actual venous blood is dark red.
We have to go back to the time when Yeshivas had Secular studies in High School!HealthParticipantMeno -“I did, and I still do.”
Now you know the truth. Maybe you’re a Vulcan?!?
“Prove to me otherwise”
Why – I’m not your teacher?!? But for a price I could be.
HealthParticipantLB -“Just wanted to let you know that your blood isn’t blue beneath your surface, aka skin.

The vessels look blue through the skin, not the blood.
Vulcans’ have blue blood!HealthParticipantLB -“I got general anesthesia, and back in my day, that was the norm”

Your’re typical of the denial group!
While being overweight is a major problem – there are treatments.
The reason that the spill over from the Goyim is because they don’t have any good treatments, for anyone.
I’ve talked about this topic in the CR, many times before.November 5, 2017 12:46 am at 12:46 am in reply to: Kiddush Hashem, Chillul Hashem, Anti-Semitism, and Self Awareness #1395564HealthParticipantCY -““When a town deliberately changes zoning laws and building codes so that Jews will not be able to move in, that is anti-Semitism. ””

That depends on your perspective.
I think all problems in the Frum community aren’t dealt with. And even things that recently e/o is aware of – there are many people still in Denial!
With regards to Drug Abuse, abuse of alcohol is more common.
I haven’t seen most people taking this very seriously; i.e. limiting alcohol at Simchas. -
