“Unfortunately they don’t focus on middos and chessed in most yeshivos”
My question is WHY NOT?
HealthParticipant“but it in no way affects anyone who is not a student at those schools.”
Unless of course the hooded garment reveals something that is supposed to be covered!
July 4, 2011 5:10 pm at 5:10 pm in reply to: Eidah Chareidis Chulent Ban – a question of hechsherim #783048HealthParticipantI posted this under the YWN article of “Litzman fights smoking” –
HealthParticipantPeacemaker in the Topic of “Hoods”!
There is actually a reality show from AETV called that.
He makes peace amongst rival gangs.
HealthParticipantRB – You should have said being on the net at all is a lack of Tzinus, much worse than any issue!
HealthParticipant“I just hope the girls are also willing to wait, or it’s going to contribute to the shidduch crisis.”
Or they could go out with really older guys (whom have good Middos) and this would help alleviate the “crisis”!
HealthParticipantWatch me call myself “pretty”, even though I’m a guy –
I’m Pretty cool! LOL!
HealthParticipantThe Chazon Ish would stand up for people like this -he said they have holy Neshamos.
So the only reason for s/o to make fun of them is because they are jealous. If s/o is jealous -is because they know how low their own Neshoma is!
I don’t think the word “Retarted” in itself is derogatory, it depends how it is used. I don’t agree with those (PC gurus) who say not to use it. We lost a word from the English language to the Toeivaniks, we shouldn’t lose more words; just don’t use it in a negative fashion.
HealthParticipantRABBAIM -Just tell me you’re not a teenager -so I can agree with your post.
HealthParticipantGumBall -Since when do girls go to a Gemorrah shiur?
July 3, 2011 6:57 pm at 6:57 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #909133HealthParticipant” why do you think its easier to be called a good girl than a good guy?”
Because if s/o doesn’t like the boy, they have no qualms speaking bad -whether true or false. Been the victim of this, umpteen times!
People usually don’t dislike girls and even if they do, they are quite hesitant to speak bad about them.
HealthParticipantskiaddict -Ask and post the answer here.
HealthParticipantSome people never learnt how to mind their own business. We singles have the unique opportunity to teach them what they should have learned in kindergarten!
July 1, 2011 4:50 pm at 4:50 pm in reply to: OK, MODs – Do You Really Want To Know What Mommy Called Me? #782338HealthParticipantadorable -At first I assumed like you, now I’m assuming the other way.
HealthParticipantLet’s put it this way – I do Lifeguarding and I don’t sit in my bathing suit. One of the reasons is because the mothers come into the pool area regularly. Would anybody besides me feel uncomfortable or is it just me?
HealthParticipant“what type of learning did they teach you in your camp?”
I don’t remember the Gemorrah besides the name of the Masectha, because I was too busy sleeping in the Shiur!
HealthParticipant“Men wouldnt do anything that involves pain more than once.”
Like I said -we wouldn’t have any pain!
July 1, 2011 4:15 pm at 4:15 pm in reply to: OK, MODs – Do You Really Want To Know What Mommy Called Me? #782336HealthParticipantadorable -How do you know what gender ZK is?
HealthParticipantGumball – “hey HEALTH-u probrably had a very bad additude!! everyone cud like camp even though ur homesick.”
I hated it because it was a learning camp, not because of my aTTiTude. I also was never homesick, like you girls.
If you go to learning camp -pick a spelling/grammar learning camp!
HealthParticipantSingles Support Group – And I came here thinking that s/o was going to support me. Oh well -I’ll just have to marry a rich girl next time around and she will support me!
HealthParticipantThere is a reason it’s painful. Men if they were able to -would give birth without pain because we didn’t do the same Aveira as Chava.
HealthParticipantAtkins diet is really basically no carb and high Fat.
A low carb diet isn’t Really Atkins! It might be Dean Ornish’es diet.
HealthParticipant“i wish i could go back to camp and those good ol’ days.”
I hated camp and there were no “good ol’ days”!
HealthParticipant“HEALTH THAT WOULD BE A BRACHA”
Only if there are less calls. Maybe NYFD EMS whose calls they are buffing are actually improving their response time and East Midwood aren’t getting there before NYFD. So their call volume represents only those whom actually call East Midwood.
HealthParticipant“then put on some alfalfa sprouts and enjoy!”
Sorry, nowadays you’ll drop a lot quicker from the sprouts than from regular pizza.
E. Coli in sprouts from Europe killed 30 and sickened thousands.
Samonella in sprouts from the NW of the US sickened hundreds.
HealthParticipantadorable – There is a Frum org. called Relief, that actually recommends therapists tailored to your need. A therapist good for one person is not necessarily the best for s/o else.
June 30, 2011 4:12 pm at 4:12 pm in reply to: OK, MODs – Do You Really Want To Know What Mommy Called Me? #782333HealthParticipantAdult men don’t quote their Mother ALL the time!

looking for the zivug that is best for your child, irrespective of whether the age-difference is 6 months or 20-40 years.
HealthParticipantTG – “can you explain what other reasons?”
That’s the job of your Yeshiva or BY. They get/got paid for that.
HealthParticipantWhy don’t you ask them when you see them sitting around in the bus
waiting to buff calls, if their freq. has changed?
Or maybe they have gotten much less busy.
HealthParticipanttracht gut – Where did you learn that from? In a yeshiva or Bais Yaakov?
My S’A says they have a Chiyuv to get married. Either one of two reasons and neither is because of Pru Oorevu!
HealthParticipantNow why would you think that? Been up watching too many late night shows?
They don’t get enough money to put on shows, if they get paid at all. This is a CR for people in the Frum world to express their ideas, concerns, etc. Some people here (due to their lack of anything else to do) use it to try to manipulate others. Most people here are on the up & up!
HealthParticipantshein -“It is a legitimate question as to why a person is not married yet, if he is older. He is obligated to get married.”
You forgot the other gender – It is a legitimate question as to why a person is not married yet, if she is older. She is obligated to get married!
There are two genders, not just “he”!
HealthParticipantTzvi -“are thinking would other people approve of my choice?”
This I believe is the main reason lots of people aren’t married. They listen to their family, friends, etc. They don’t think for themselves -what’s really important.
HealthParticipantDH – “The only reason I can think of is that there are so few guys who are equally as special.”
I doubt that. They probably are picky!
HealthParticipantnursemom -Ok, but I haven’t seen it. And I’ve been through quite a few. Could you name some of the hospitals that have a lot of NP’s in these areas?
“NP dont need a doctor to sign off and they can work completely independently”
Also depends on where they work.
June 28, 2011 6:31 pm at 6:31 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #909049HealthParticipantMonseyFan – I never said he was. I said e/o, including all the women nowadays are influenced by the Goyishe society.
HealthParticipantdunno – “AND married people think they know it all! Like when they ask what you’re looking for and you tell them, they jump on you that it’s not important. Never mind that they cared about the same things when they were dating…”
Well maybe they “know-it-all” because they are older and wiser, not because of their marriage status? And just because when they were younger they wanted what you want now, doesn’t make them wrong now. Perhaps they have become wiser and now know what’s really important, as opposed to what they believed when they were younger!
June 28, 2011 6:12 pm at 6:12 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #909045HealthParticipantOfcourse – This is nothing new -Shlomah Hamelech had a 1,000 wives. The poor people would still get married because not like in our society were women will stay single, until they get what they Want, in those times women wanted to get married. So all the women whom the Kings and nobility don’t want will marry e/o else including the paupers or serfs! But keep dreaming that one day you’ll be a Queen living in a palace!
June 28, 2011 6:04 pm at 6:04 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #909043HealthParticipantMonseyFan – Why would he disagree?
June 28, 2011 5:34 pm at 5:34 pm in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #909040HealthParticipantbinahyeseira – “sorry guys – no girl will go for polygamy. marriage is hard enough with one husband and one wife.”
True, in Western society it would be next to impossible to impose this on women. But you should know in the Middle Eastern society it occurs right now, not to common, but it exists. Middle Eastern doesn’t include E. Yisroel, which is a Western society. I know s/o from Iran (Frum) whose father has two wives and he has families from both and they each have separate houses. And people here in the CR (in the Immoral marriage topic) actually claim who cares what goyim do, we don’t have anything to do with them.
We are so influenced by goyim -you can’t imagine how much. The avg. Jewish woman here in our society could never imagine letting their husband be married to s/o else! Why? Because it’s against the Goyishe society.
June 28, 2011 6:34 am at 6:34 am in reply to: Have you ever seen a Ghost? I mean a real one. #781588HealthParticipant” no body believes in ghosts now.”
Not anymore. Now they have all these reality “Paranormal state” shows. Aetv. com has one from the Paranormal society.
Even if you don’t believe all the things on the show, it’s very interesting. There definitely is a lot of things about this world we have no understanding. Nor should it be that important to us because Tomim Teeyeh Im…
June 28, 2011 6:16 am at 6:16 am in reply to: A third of Litvish families I know, have one or more single daughters 25 and up #909031HealthParticipantGAW – “It would seem that the Rambam has issue with the actual status and not the act itself? What does the Olam think?”
You gotta stop Paskening from Gemorahs and Rambams and start learning S’A. The S’A quotes the Rambam and says you get Malkous Mardus like the Rambam. I haven’t seen it in awhile, but I think the Achronim say the Rambam held it’s only an Issur D’rabbonim and the Posuk is an Asmachta. I think s/o said/posted here that the Ramban holds it’s a Issur D’orysa! Either way no one holds it’s Mutter even though it’s a Maaseh Kof! In other words, the act (if you can call it that,) itself is Ossur acc. to e/o! And I posted before that you see it’s immoral for even Goyim from the Posuk on Mitzrayim.
HealthParticipantDerech Hamelech –
“Health:
1. Even though the world was destroyed, Noach who was not mishtatef, wasn’t. Maybe my problem is that I don’t care what happens to goyim.
2. I think the problem is that they didn’t search for help and support from rabbonim. I’m sure a taivah like that is unimaginably hard to deal with, without proper support. If they weren’t getting it, I wouldn’t be surprised that they would be poirek ol.”
I’ll try to answer you seriously, without sarcasm.
1. Even if you live and all the goyim are killed, you or noone would be able to handle it. We are so spoiled in our generation, imagine if everybody is wiped out and we are left in the dark ages. Do you really think you can live like the Amish do in a matter of seconds. If all the goyim are wiped out, almost all automation/technology will stop. Do you really think that there are enough trained Jews to run hospitals, sewer/water treatment plants, farms, rail and truck companies, electrical plants, etc.? You and everyone else wants to come home and turn on the lights and A.C. and oven, etc. It’s extremly immature to say -Hey, we don’t need you Goyim. We don’t live in the self sufficient Shetle anymore -Not even in E. Yisroel, where they have a lot of arabs in essential positions (technology) throughout the country.
2. That is exactly how the YH works, the more legitimate it becomes in the world, the more he can talk Yidden into it.
Obviousy, these Jews were on the ends of Frumkeit- so why in the world would they seek religious guidance if the YH tells them to do something? They obviously never had lots of Yiras Shomayim. So let’s say you tell me -Ok, who cares about these barely Frum Jews? If they are exposed to this Toeiva and become that way, who cares about them? If you tell me this, you haven’t learnt much Torah. The Torah teaches us that Moshe Rabbeynu ordered a war with Amalek -why because the Erev Rav were getting attacked and there was no Cloud to protect them. The whole Klal Yisroel had to risk their lives for the Erev Rav. And do you know who this Erev Rav was? Some say they were the precursers to the Koosim, whom some say don’t have a Din of Yidden. Never the less, right now they were part of Klal Yisroel and all of Klal Yisroel had to care about them!
HealthParticipantNP’s make slightly more. You must be a reg. nurse first. Some states- they are allowed to practice on their own. Very few men in the career. The biggest drawback is area of practice. Most will work either in pediatrics, family care, Internal med, geriatrics or psychiatry. A lot of them have trouble switching from being a nurse to a practioner. Nursing theory and practice isn’t the same model as medical practice. Some work in anethesia. (Midwives work in OB instead of NP’s.) Very, very few ever work in other areas of medicine. PA’s tend to work in all areas of medicine and surgery. Most people like being PA’s because of being able to change laterally. Eg. -ER to Cardiology, Geri to Ortho, ER to Ortho & Plastics.
HealthParticipanthaifagirl – As a parent who has raised kids, that’s the Reality! If both parents work fulltime, when kids are young, more likely than not they won’t get the proper attention from their parents.
People will tell you what they did is right, doesn’t mean it is!
HealthParticipantadorable -“NY is such a sick place to live”
So is Jersey!
zahavasdad -“If NY is such a sick place to live why are there more frum jews in NY than anywhere else in the world”
Good question. We ended up here because it’s on the coast after fleeing Europe. It’s high time to get out -We need Moshiach Now!
HealthParticipantZahavasdad – “I know of a few too and some even got married to a member of the opposite gender. Was that really fair to the spouse. Do you really think they were happy about divorcing their spouse and likely seperating themselves from their children.
How about the normal spouse. How do you think they feel that they were married to such a person.”
If those people that you know didn’t want to go OTD, like the ones I know, who said they should have gotten married, in the normal sense? If you have a mental problem, you seek help and then if you are normal enough -then you can get married!
HealthParticipant“as an influence of the feminist movement”
If you’re doing it for this reason, it’s probably Ossur because of OOvchookusayem Lo Selachoo and because of Poiretz Geder!
HealthParticipanthaifagirl – I can understand the sentiment of “poor child”, because let’s say this woman doesn’t have outside support or lots of money in the bank -she now has to choose to either give up working and the kid will be raised in poverty or continue working and not have that much time raising the child. The child will be taken of by strangers most of the day.
