HIEParticipant
NO, it is ASSUR TO, it is a FACT , Rav Belsky, Rosh yeshiva yeshiva Torah vodaath, doesn’t go to boro park on shabbos even for a simcha because there is so much chillul shabbos, meaning people carry on shabbos
HIEParticipantokay, that is what i’m trying to say, also, look at the list of gemachs and look at the list of goyish non-profit organizations.
HIEParticipanti didn’t say they don’t but the yidden definitely do much MUCH more chessed. And BTW, i NEVER saw a goy pick up a public school child from a bus stop to bring him to school.
HIEParticipantNO!
Many of the frum people going down coney (and J) are bringing their children to yeshiva so they should stop?
HIEParticipantusually, when a frum person is going down coney island with a child in their car they are going to yeshiva!
HIEParticipantNYMOM, where? clove lake or the zooo
HIEParticipanti enjoyed my day yesterday at CLOVE LAKE PARK. It is located in staten island and it has a beautiful lake it has wonderful walking paths and biking paths with hills. Right next to it is also an ice skating rink. Also there is a kiddie park. Also there is place to play ball and basketball courts/baseball. Yesterday it was packed with frum people
HIEParticipantrav Reisman, means someone youv’e seen before in eg. yeshiva..
HIEParticipantmods are also shady business!
HIEParticipanti would like to e’mail him directly but that is also okay.
HIEParticipantmod, since this is for tachlis, why can’t you allow me to contact metziut by e’mail and give him info
HIEParticipantask metziut if he lets
HIEParticipantthe mods never say who they are!!
HIEParticipantmods, will you allow me to?
HIEParticipantjphone, “torah vodaath or bust”, HUH??
I meaned that you shouldn’t ask for rides, but if someone stops…
HIEParticipantjphone, regarding your previous post, that is why i made more then one rule.
wolfish, you should go to Harav Yisroel Reisman shlita and go ask mechila
HIEParticipantmetziut if the mods will allow me to contact you via e’mail, i would be able to tell you more
HIEParticipantgoody, unfortunatly.
HIEParticipantlet me explain something. The rules are as following
1- Frum looking.
2- Another bochur gets in with you.
3- YOU know someone who is in the car.
4-NOT STICKIN HAND OUT to ask for ride
HIEParticipantchill
HIEParticipantwolfishmusings, you are INCORRECT. It is teaching children that there is no nation like yisrael that is so friendly and does favors
HIEParticipantFirst of all you have to have alot of guts to say that.
Also, Rabbi Reisman isn’t saying that boys should stick out their hands to hitch. he’s saying it the other way around. If a frum person sees a bochur waiting he should stop and tell him to come in.
HIEParticipantcraiglist is like E’bay, but alot of scams are there and you aren’t secured.
HIEParticipantcherrbim, regarding your previous post, EIN SOMCHIN AL HANESS
RONRSR, good mashal, but not applicable over here.
Goody, me too. (I think i once met you in a strangers car. LOL.
what rabbi reisman said DOES NOT only apply to bochurim, it applys to all yidden but since he was telling it to his shiur in yeshiva, he was specifically talking about the B68 bus stop on down Coney Island Ave. (J, K, l, M…) where many bochurim stand in the morning to go to yeshiva and many frum people go by to bring their kids to yeshiva (Torah Vodaath, and Torah Temimah, Chaim Berlin.) so that is why he mentioned “Bochurim”
A Gut Moed
HIEParticipantreally it depends who
HIEParticipantjust jokin
HIEParticipanthaifa, i’m neturei karta
HIEParticipantWOW< JAx
HIEParticipantmods, am i the only one in the cr tonight at this late hour
HIEParticipantit is called a learning camp
HIEParticipantjphone, so from now on IF you drive and IF you are a MALE and you see a bochur waiting by a bus stop PICK HIM UP
HIEParticipantI CARE
HIEParticipantyes, i don’t like the idea of bochurim asking for a ride, but i think that they should be offered a ride.
HIEParticipanthaifagirl, should i cry???? I’m also from NY.
HIEParticipantHow was YOUR Yom Tov????
HIEParticipantjust a guy, you are changing the topic, that is not what i’m talking about
HIEParticipantchofetz chaim, they made that a strict rule in my yeshiva this year too.
HIEParticipantit’s not naive. IT is a mitzvah to pick up bochurim and frum people.
RABBI REISMAN shelita, Rosh Hayeshiva, Yeshiva Torah Vodaath, oNce said, “there should never be bochurim waiting by a bus stop in a frum area” meaning to say that people should offer rides
HIEParticipantwolfish, I have been taking rides for FIVE years and i never got kidnapped and i don’t know anyone who did
HIEParticipantand FACETIOUS means??
HIEParticipantmepal, you never heard of that, many yeshivos require it these days
HIEParticipantfor those who are in kollel and cant afford it, a small set of seforim is good. Because if your giving cash at a wedding it doesn’t look good to give less than 100
HIEParticipantit’s a pretty good yeshiva. my brother’in’law went there. in the summer, the first half every mesivta bochur is required to go to camp ohr shraga, which is the summer camp of Yeshiva torah Vodaath
HIEParticipantwhy is it that whenever i’m in the cr and a mod comes, he leaves right away
HIEParticipantand a big thank you to mod80 for makeing me feel free to post
HIEParticipantstarwolf, you obviously haven’t been around much. I live in brooklyn and almost every minyan i daven at a loud ringer rings during davening, THIS IS CRAZY!!
Also, many shuls may have the sign but the rule is usually broken.
HIEParticipantdue to POPULAR demand!!
HIEParticipantExuse Me. It is a Mitzvah to stop and pick them up.
I go to yeshiva on Ditmas Ave. and East ninth. and i have to take the coney island bus (B68) to get from Ave J until Ditmas. I appreciate it very much when people stop and pick me up, instead of waiting for a bus. I don’t see any issues with it. I don’t flag down cars but i stand by the curb and if someone is nice enough to stop i am happy.
HIEParticipantI”M Back.
HIEParticipantemail me at [email protected]
Do not post again until you do so, and you hear back from me.
