If I understand correctly as part of the surgery for a deviated septum one can have a nose job done too. Has anyone ever done this? Has anyone ever done the deviated septum and had good results?

apushatayid, that is very very commendable of those parents!! Just saying.

They saw how the yeshiva atmosphere was not the right one for their child and decided to let him make something of himself rather. Very very impressive!!

I really don’t understand something. Why is Hashem doing this? They are innocent boys doing whatever they should be doing and they have setback after setback. They are learning torah and davening while in prison, what more does Hashem want? I know this is probably a stupid question. I just can’t seem to get passed this. Why do they have to suffer like this for such an innocent mistake?

I just read through the posts again, sorry I missed responding to some before.

oomis: it definitely is something that I will be extra careful about in the future.

believer: you’re right. I’m trying to be patient right now. I’m feeling a little better already.

    MDG: see my last comment:)

gregaaron: I agree with your comment anyway, even if it is the wrong thread.

steroplasm: I can’t say how much I agree with you. Such a brilliant thing, wish we could somehow implement it!

observanteen: You are so inspiring!!! You made me feel so good too. Thank you! I really do try, I’ve gotten through so much b”H. It’s hard to stop short at something else but thank you for your continuous tefilos!!!

    Thanks for the chizuk.

I am davening. You can’t imagine how much I’m davening. That’s why I’m finding it especially hard. I’ve been davening so much, with tears and all and I’m still here, single. I’ve taken things upon myself, I’m doing all that can be done (in my opinion atleast) but to no avail. It’s a bit of a turn off.

I am so sad right now. I am not upset that I was told no. I don’t really care about this specific situation but I am so upset that I have no other prospects even in the works right now and that I want to get married soooo badly that it hurts for me to see married people (and people with children). I don’t want to be a jealous person but right now it is so unbelievably hard and disappointing at the same time.

I like being short. It means I can marry anyone. Any guy who is short will automatically be tall to me and then I can marry a tall guy too. I love it!!

I was hospitalized twice. Both for depression and I never want to have to do it again BUT they were some of the best experiences of my life. I did so much learning there and through all my experiences there I have changed and become the person I am today. A strong, confident, HAPPY girl (in shidduchim). I probably would not be where I am today without having been there twice.

I became ocd from medication that was combating other mental illness issues that I have. The ocd was so over the top that I couldn’t live that way. It started making me depressed because ocd is so demanding. It would take me double the normal amount of time that it took me to leave my house, I couldn’t function properly at work etc. I was taken off my medication and we raised my other medicine and b”H everything calmed down. I also worked on it in therapy but I do not think therapy alone would have helped my situation. In my case, the meds were definitely necessary!

Try this street in Far Rockaway, Beach 11th. There are a bunch of smaller apartments (1-3 bedrooms) available and possibly a 4 bedroom for sale too.

The owner is Rabbi Savitsky but I don’t have his # off hand for you. He lives in Brooklyn though.

    Good luck!!!

Thanks everyone for the great answers!

I took out about 8 books from the library, can’t wait to read them all. I have asked a friend if we can get together so that will work too. And I’m just going to take it slow and relaxed. I’m going to make sure that going to shul happens since I always enjoy the davening and come out feeling so calm afterwards.

Thanks for all the ideas e/o!! Now, I’m looking forward b”H!

Being that we refuse to eat Pesach food for a day longer than needed,we’ve been ordering out since Monday night. Our oven and stove both are pesachdik which makes it difficult for us to eat anything chometz. It is expensive but this is the one time a year that we do this.

    Student- I agree with you.

I am a teacher. I love my job and love my students!!! They are one of the best thing that’s happened to me!! Yogi, I feel like you’re making all teachers sound terrible. No, most teachers do not complain about the things you complain about. Yes, the children were a little more active this week but that just means that you need to find something to do that fits their mood. It just sounds like you complain about your students. Why is that?

Yes, I do love my vacation. Would I be upset if it was shortened? Probably not thrilled but I wouldn’t freak out.

And fyi, my school is one of the only schools that pays on time (hasn’t missed a paycheck in all the 40 something years they’ve been open) and just informed us teachers that we are getting a 3% raise next year even though we received one this year already. I think if enough people sat down with the school board and laid the facts out, they def would be open to hearing the complaints!

Health, wow. I feel so honored that you think I’m naive. You’re the first person to ever tell me that. I take it as an honor! Thanks again:)

As to the OP- I guess since I’m naive, take healths word for it. Don’t call the cops. It can be considered harassment.

health- I think you are wrong about the criminal part. If you think a crime has occurred and you are wrong then it just means you’re being a vigilant person. They will not arrest you because you reported a crime. If you MAKE UP a crime to have some fun then yes, there can be some legal trouble for you.

I’m not saying whether I agree or not to call the police (it doesn’t sound like her life is in danger) but you’ve made it sound as if you can get into trouble everytime you call 911. If someone thinks there house was robbed but it wasn’t then they wont get arrested, it’s the same thing here. She thinks she is being followed but (let’s just say)isn’t, she will not get into legal trouble for that!

aries- you’re right. I should just try and forget that I have this diagnosis. It doesn’t define me as a person…

shrek- true, no one is normal but I would like to be looked at as a somewhat normal person, not as a messed up person who isn’t right in her mind.

Sorry if this topic seems stupid, it was something I was curious about but now seems kind of dumb.

Chayav- Can I ask why it is so pritzusdik according to you? What about it makes it so wrong to do and use?

Totally no offense meant by this next comment but I get the feeling that you think that anything (including probably taking a walk on the boardwalk) is pritzusdik and problematic for a frum jew.

600- my family doesn’t drink soda because back in the day the soda was said to be good for Pesach but they found out afterwards that it was not… therefore, we don’t drink soda until the last day of Pesach.

We also do not eat gebrakts until the last day of Pesach. These both might be chassidish minhagim but I could be wrong about that.
